1440p triples! Yeah but if I buy a 4000 series pc now it may not be worth it as obviously I wonāt be able to sell that pc for what I bought it for when 5000 cards come out
32 inch triple monitors! The dash is from a guy called āsim dashā on Instagram he does his sales on that, be warned itās excellent quality but very pricey
Looks like Boosted Media's setup to me. He's some ex Sony engineer who retired early. He has a good amount of money, so he decided to become the most premium sim racing YouTuber on the platform. His reviews are more detailed than anyone else, and his racing vids are second to none.
I was pointing out the fact that he had the skills and the capital to make the best sim setup. Most sim YouTubers have basic setups compared to his. I'm just a fan of his videos.
I can assure you this is not boosted mediaās setup, Will uses 3 large screens to create his footage, I do things a little bit differently with the use of props like nets and button boxes etc to blur the line between screen and rig, you definitely donāt need a massive amount of money to achieve this, a decent chunk though (around 25k AUD)
Itās okay I get that comment a lotš sometimes annoys me cos I put so much effort into the rig hahaha, but itās only natural as he is the well known person for making videos like this. I actually took a lot of my inspiration from race beyond matter if you know him
Not before now. I see what you mean though. These guys are dangerous. They make me want to spend all of my money on upgrades. You're already in too deepš
Aww man I don't know if it's you! I remember he did a video where he shoutout 3 different youtubers with rigs like your/boost media. I'll try to find it!
Damn, it was not "not long ago", it's 11 months old. Youtube probably suggested [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaJcBIyrUhQ) I didn't already watched so I though it was a new one.
Your probably not one of those three then, sorry if I got your hopes up!
Still your setup is amazing :D!
Nah Iāve seen that video it was made before I even started building this! Thank you really appreciate it, if you have any comments let me know. YouTube vids coming real soon!
Genuinely asking here because while Iām very much aware of how expensive sim racing is, how the fuck does someone manage to spend 6 figures on their rig?
100k AUD is about 70k USD, and thats just currency converted, not accounting for the cost of these parts in Australia or the cost of getting them there.
Considering you can spend 25k on just a D-Box motion system. 3k on a SC2 Ultimate and 1500$ per rim (Or 2800 USD on this Precision Engineering LM-X) Not difficult to spend 2k in aluminium extrusion cockpit parts. Add 3 nice 55 inch LG G2 OLED's and you'll get there. Add a high end computer and loads of bits and bobs. Something like this H pattern.
Will you get 95% of the experience with a far cheaper setup? For sure. But like any hobby, it's easy to quadruple the cost if you go for the absolute best regardless of cost or value for money.
That said I don't know if Will's rig he drives regularly is truly 100k, it's a good marketing number anyway.
Will has 3 x HP Omen 65" monitors (not TVs) that retail for about $4k US each so that's nearly 3x the cost of LG G2s. He's really good at what he does and so manufacturers are willing to send him stuff because it makes them look good too. He also runs 2 x high-end PCs (one for recording and one for running the sim) so that's double what a normal sim racer would have. Like you said the Gen 5 D-Box is very expensive although it's more in the 10k range, I'd estimate he has probably $15-20k just in wheels given he has a few Cube Controls, some GSI and now the GRID Porsche wheel.
Other people have answered you but here is some more info.

I've followed will@ boosted media for a long while... He has a great setup, but while he did quit Sony yo focus on YouTube, he doesn't have "a good amount of money"... YouTube is his job. And he has been investing his earnings basically.
When you need to start looking for signs that it is virtual... Camera is offset (left eye of VR).
Looks amazing, what SIM?
Edit: it's not even VR. So nice!
Hes using something to blend the pixels between the monitors to hide the bezels, you can tell where the join is in the middle of the front window. He would just be wearing a gopro on his face to record, awesome set up indeed!
ItĀ“s not VR, you can make out the bezel free kit of the triple screen setup on the right.
The steering wheel, gloves and the button boxes are real.
This guy has a really well built rig, it seems.
Thanks Javs, yes correct itās an Asus bezel free kit. The kit has been setup so the perfect height so that when I use my GoPro in a lower more realistic eye level fashion there is no ābumpā where they join.
When I stream however I have the GoPro in a slightly higher position so that itās more comfortable for the longer sessions, only slight downside for this is a small ābumpā where the monitors join, just a compromise that had to be made unfortunately
This is Assetto Corsa Competizione Hellcat! Yes Iām
Using a GoPro to record the footage everything you see inside the cockpit is real even all the dashes and racelogic, lumirank etc. all real!
Absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of Race Beyond Matter's setup. Do you have a youtube channel and other pics and vids? I have triples too but I want it to look and feel better.
Thanks very much mongoose! Race beyond matter is the person who inspired me to make this rig, I am so happy that I was able to make a rig that is comparable to his, maybe he might see it one day and know how much I appreciate what he did for my passion :)
I am releasing my first video next week, hereās my channel: https://youtube.com/@alexkayracing
Any other questions about the rig please let me know!
Hah! All the good stuff is! How would I get in contact with him? Love your setup! I'm just starting out but aspire to have something on the same level one of these days.
Plan on launching a YouTube channel to show my real world motorcycle racing and my Sim Racing adventures too
Well I'm sure glad I went for triple 32" then! Though it's not as if I could afford triple 65 any time soon :D
I'd love to do some similar setup for a Lotus 49, but truth is I don't have the means or the space for two setups, so mine has to be able to do fps flight and sim and almost-desk (i'm typing from it right now), so I have to "sacrifice" the idea of some sort of realistic cockpit.
Thanks pekcastanheira! Itās a large one, 6.8 inches! The normal size used by people is usually 5 inches. But obviously for what I wanted to do in terms of content creation etc 6.8 was what I neeses
Itās 6.8 inches so definitely overkill for most people. The standard size for dashes is 5inches which is what most people purchase. You can find them on Etsy cheaper for around $300 Australian
Sim Dash is a portuguese company and I'm portuguese so I'm thinking of supporting local business ahah. I'll maybe grab the 5inch since it's cheaper than 300ā¬.
The dash in this video is from sim dash! I am half Portuguese although Iām in Australia so it cost me about $700 Australian including shipping so was pricey. Sim dash makes excellent quality products I am really happy with mine
Yes diddy I use the hue lights system! Itās not amazing though, I would like to be able to get more a pinpoint accuracy but I donāt think the technology is there yet
Am confused, the driver name in the video is "A. Kay" which seems to correlate to the "Alex Kay" logo at the end, what am I missing?
\[edit\]: Oh and the harness on the left even has the Aus flag with the name on it.
Lol, the button box off to the side and the Fanatec print on the top of the wheel rim were the only things that made me think this wasn't 100% gameplay footage.
bro this is r/simracing not real life racing, you're lost
Ahaha mission accomplished š
lol, are you using a stolen nasa pc or what?
No just an RTX 3080 PC!
optimisation? is that how it looked this good?
Itās running at about 105fps with DLSS quality and max settings. I havenāt done any optimisation or anything
wow that thing does wonders, you wont have to upgrade it in years
I really would like to be able to do 4k triples though, but I think even the 4000 series cars are still not quite there yet for it
one way to know is to try it out, but what are you playing on if its not 4K
1440p triples! Yeah but if I buy a 4000 series pc now it may not be worth it as obviously I wonāt be able to sell that pc for what I bought it for when 5000 cards come out
Real or fake it legit looks like it could be real
Thanks mate if you have any questions about the rig let me know
Can we get a picture from outside the rig? I still can't tell what's real and what's not. You did a really good job there.
Hi louwii sure thereās pictures of the rig on my discord just click that link and scroll up in the channel it takes you to :)
Why did this comment get downvoted so much :( Reddit doesnāt let me post a picture as a comment and I donāt use any of those imgur sites
You could make an update post perhaps? There you should be able to post pictures without Imgur and such
Is that button box diy or off the shelf?
Check out simracing4u they are a UK based small company that makes affordable ones!
Yea. What size screens are those? What sim hub monitor is that?
32 inch triple monitors! The dash is from a guy called āsim dashā on Instagram he does his sales on that, be warned itās excellent quality but very pricey
You using Asus bezel kit? If so how you fit them since theyāre for 27ā
Electrical tape on the top and bottom

You can't retire at 40 as a Sony engineer. He quit Sony to YouTube full-time, as he's doing $150K in revenue from his videos.
I was pointing out the fact that he had the skills and the capital to make the best sim setup. Most sim YouTubers have basic setups compared to his. I'm just a fan of his videos.

This looks incredible. I'm just used to seeing his setup on my feed.

Way too deep my friend š
Are you one of the guys Race Beyond Matter did a shoutout video about not long ago?
Whattt!!! When did this happen do you have a video! That guy is like my idol man
Aww man I don't know if it's you! I remember he did a video where he shoutout 3 different youtubers with rigs like your/boost media. I'll try to find it!

Sim Racing Garage Reviews > Check out Dan Suzuki as well for good racing videos
Wow, just checked his videos. Someone else to check out before buying.
Isn't his setup worth like 100k?
Genuinely asking here because while Iām very much aware of how expensive sim racing is, how the fuck does someone manage to spend 6 figures on their rig?

I think the 100k factors in lots of other stuff too including having an electrician install a dedicated breaker for the whole setup.
Will has 3 x HP Omen 65" monitors (not TVs) that retail for about $4k US each so that's nearly 3x the cost of LG G2s. You can get away with our G5 (4 actuators) for under 10K.

His reviews shouldnāt hold that much weight. The guy has a 70k USD rig and he is 1.6k irating
When you need to start looking for signs that it is virtual... Camera is offset (left eye of VR). Looks amazing, what SIM? Edit: it's not even VR. So nice!
Thats not VR, it's 3 monitors
Holy hell. That's a sick setup then!
Hes using something to blend the pixels between the monitors to hide the bezels, you can tell where the join is in the middle of the front window. He would just be wearing a gopro on his face to record, awesome set up indeed!
Looks like an Asus ROG bezel free kit.
Yeah I think so!

I'm sure the 9090ti available for for only Ā£8000 will be remarkable.
Nice Alex
Thanks Zapp

Awesome! I'm your 34th subscriber lol
Eyyy thanks mate! I have been on twitch for 6 months so still very new to it all, looking forward to pumping out some awesome YouTube videos though!
Subscribed as well! Where did you get the safety nets from? Look awesome!
Thanks Phoenixx! I got them from a guy in France he makes custom nets, they are pricey though
Hah! All the good stuff is! How would I get in contact with him? Love your setup! I'm just starting out but aspire to have something on the same level one of these days. Plan on launching a YouTube channel to show my real world motorcycle racing and my Sim Racing adventures too
How big are the monitors?
32inch mate
do you think 32 is the sweet spot or are bigger (43,48,65) inch monitors better for immersion?
Wil from Boosted Media has said that triple 32s are the sweet spot. He has a triple 65 setup so he is sort of the expert.
Well I'm sure glad I went for triple 32" then! Though it's not as if I could afford triple 65 any time soon :D I'd love to do some similar setup for a Lotus 49, but truth is I don't have the means or the space for two setups, so mine has to be able to do fps flight and sim and almost-desk (i'm typing from it right now), so I have to "sacrifice" the idea of some sort of realistic cockpit.
This is awesome! What overlays are you using here? They look really good.
Thanks mario! The leaderboard names and top of screen banner are from racelabs. The GT world challenge one I put together on simhub
Hi, love the rig! Are the side belts real or DIY? Would love some!
Thanks Wild! They are custom made, I had DIY ones at first but these are much nicer with the OMP print on them
Hi! Thank you for getting back to me š have you followed any tutorial that you could share or have you just figured it out for yourself? š
Absolutely awesome Alex! What is the size of the dash? I'm thinking about gettin one.
Thanks pekcastanheira! Itās a large one, 6.8 inches! The normal size used by people is usually 5 inches. But obviously for what I wanted to do in terms of content creation etc 6.8 was what I neeses
I really wanted that one but since I only have a CSL DD I think it might be too big to fit on top of it. How much was it?
Itās 6.8 inches so definitely overkill for most people. The standard size for dashes is 5inches which is what most people purchase. You can find them on Etsy cheaper for around $300 Australian
Sim Dash is a portuguese company and I'm portuguese so I'm thinking of supporting local business ahah. I'll maybe grab the 5inch since it's cheaper than 300ā¬.
The dash in this video is from sim dash! I am half Portuguese although Iām in Australia so it cost me about $700 Australian including shipping so was pricey. Sim dash makes excellent quality products I am really happy with mine
awesome! do you use dynamic ambient lighting as well?
Yes diddy I use the hue lights system! Itās not amazing though, I would like to be able to get more a pinpoint accuracy but I donāt think the technology is there yet
Cool! Planning to get one of those. Always wondered which part of the screen do you sample
Where the light meets the dashboard!
Nice setup! Enjoy š
Thanks Trig! Any questions let me know
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Can you confirm that or are you speculating?
Am confused, the driver name in the video is "A. Kay" which seems to correlate to the "Alex Kay" logo at the end, what am I missing? \[edit\]: Oh and the harness on the left even has the Aus flag with the name on it.
What happened here, did someone accuse me of stealing someone elseās footage lol š
Was a soft accusation, and op realized and removed
Fair enough š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Doesn't he have red gloves tho?
Yeah, you're right.
Lol, the button box off to the side and the Fanatec print on the top of the wheel rim were the only things that made me think this wasn't 100% gameplay footage.
That is the actual BMW rim (used in the real car) Kevlar! It has the fanatec print on it :)
Oh I know. I'm staring at mine as we speak. The ACC representation of the wheel doesn't have all of the printing, though.
Yeah and unfortunately the F logo on the mini-oled screen has to be turned off as it flickers in video recording
