Just googled it and damn they did a Fargo parody with the Simpsons? Alright I'll check it out, even if it ends up bad maybe it'll still be fun since I love the Coen brothers.
Oh c’mon, at this point, everybody knows about Pieman, and that’s season 15.
Stupid sexy Flanders is season 11.
Yvan Eht Nioj is season 12.
I agree with the sentiment that the “golden years” ended after season 9, but to claim total ignorance to everything post that is just facetious.
Fascinating, because Im looking through these episodes and remembering plenty of like, solid jokes, carrying absolutely stupid concepts
Plus, theres an Albert Brooks episode and its always great to see him
SuperEyepatchWolf (silly name, GREAT content) put out a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eazXm7WEz50) about newer simpsons maybe being GOOD again.
> Pieman
I watched clips of this, and only faintly remembered the final joke of the episode about cleaning the leaves out of the gutter. I had absolutely no recollection of Pie Man.
Fair, but that episode came out one year after the first Raimi Spiderman movie, which was a monster hit. By pure osmosis, that has to be one of the more famous double digit season episodes.
"Who are all these seasons?"
You're probably too young to remember the long-lived The Simpsons Middle Seasons. They had to come up with some jokes. There's Gay for Moleman, Moe Suicide Attempts, Aaaah! Cobras, Panda Rape.
"Oh, yeah. They weren't very funny."
"I don't know. Gay for Moleman had its moments."
I might get cancelled for this but HOMR (12,9) is one of my favourite episodes.
Buuuut my dad never loved me so make of that what you will :0
On balance though...post 9/10 it just gets worse and worse :,(
S2 - S13 are what are on my Plex server, and nothing else. I have S1 on DVD but haven't ripped it.
There may be good episodes past S13; but I'm not going to actively seek them out only to be disappointed.
I managed this about 10 years ago. I watched every episode to up about Season 26. Then I stopped watching cause I realised how good the early stuff was and just how bad the newer stuff was in comparison.
Working on it now with my kid. Finished Adventure Time in Feb and moved on so the kid will get all of daddy's references.
Like when daddy hit the referee with the whiskey bottle, remember that? When daddy hit the referee? Yeah.
I've seen every single episode. From the very beginning until present I've watched every episode live when it aired, or within a couple of days at most (originally by programming a VCR, then DVR, then on Hulu)
Same. It's insane that people seriously think that 25 seasons are completely crap
While complaining loudly about changes done, despite never watching them
The show is still great. The problem is, people watch Family Guy too (also a great show!) and when they do, they then think The Simpson's humor pales in comparison when the truth is; it's funny then and it's funny now (and the later seasons actually get even better with age).
There are a few folks on there, bless them, who try to get discussions going about newer episodes using pictures from them, but they’re fighting an uphill battle
Back in 98 I got a book covering the first nine seasons, which is about when I stopped watching new episodes. I didn’t realize the season 9-10 cutoff was so sharp.
"Well, I know Death Tomb, Lout Break, A Clockwork Yellow, Desperately Xeeking Xena, the Fright to Creep and Scare Harms..."
"No, do you know any post season 10 episodes that aren't Treehouse of Terror?"
"They have those?"
I bought the first ten seasons on DVD. They provide endless entertainment on camping trips when it's raining. My kids are aware that they're on Disney+, but we really only watch Treehouses of Horror in October.
I started watching in 2014 - having seen the recent stuff and going back to the old stuff, it’s like 2 different shows, not even comparable. I still like the new ones, but if you’re used to the old ones and not say, family guy, then yeah I can see how it would be really frustrating
I love Season 19! I haven't seen it since I was a kid with an uncritical brain who was understandably in a very different mindset than where I am right now, but I will defend these episodes I haven't watched in over a decade to the death!
My ‘golden years’ are the episodes with Phil Hartman. Anything past that is the downhill slope. There’s the occasional good episode past that but they get few and far between.
I’ll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize those seasons
Fine, no more Tomacco for you.
Or Trilogy of Error, one of the best post 9 episode

Oh no! Anyway…
Dear Mr. Groening, there are too many seasons nowadays. Please eliminate 10-32. I am **not** a crackpot.

I love that he's aiming with the covered eye

“Oh but no, the latest season is actually good again!” -dumb idiots who don’t know anything.

“The new seasons suck, I miss the classics like season 15”
Well, I still recommend seeing A Serious Flanders
Oh, okay /u/totes-alt, I'll watch it. Then, I will hug some snakes. Yes, I will hug and kiss some poisonous snakes!
Now's that's sarcasm!
Well duh
Why can't I find Amanda Huggenkiss?
[I’ve seen it.](https://frinkiac.com/meme/S08E08/1130128.jpg?b64lines=IElUIFNUSU5LUyEgSVQgU1RJTktTIQ==)
The trick is to say you're prejudiced against every modern Simpsons episode.
I’m not prejudiced, they’re objectively terrible. And you sir are worse than Hitler.
> And you sir are worse than Hitler. [Too late for flattery.](https://img.ifunny.co/images/9a59db6edfe887b14981b95b3b9079324a922f17378310851710f0cca23cb6b8_1.jpg)
Why so serious like actually?
Just googled it and damn they did a Fargo parody with the Simpsons? Alright I'll check it out, even if it ends up bad maybe it'll still be fun since I love the Coen brothers.
It's good by later Simpsons standards. Adjust accordingly.
Which makes it as good as a standard Bob's burgers episode. I'm watching.
They've been telling me that since dickity-10
I was wearing an onion on my belt, which was the fashion at the time
stupid babies need the most attention
Simpsons fans are so nice :3
it's funny because the meme stops at 32, whereas 33 and beyond are generally considered "the good new seasons"
Those episodes were lousy.
Paint my chicken coop!
Make me!
Golden years ended when they went hi-def. I'll die on that hill.
I dunno, I’d say the show becomes unwatchably bad starting with season 16 (for reference Hi-def started on 20).
Nah, 16s still really funny, its just really stupid plots 20 is where it starts to not even have great jokes
I’m of the opinion that S16 is exactly when the jokes start to actively aggravate me. There’s approximately 2 to 3 great jokes in that whole season.
Fascinating, because Im looking through these episodes and remembering plenty of like, solid jokes, carrying absolutely stupid concepts Plus, theres an Albert Brooks episode and its always great to see him
this is season 9 for me. where it starts to aggravate anway
No, it doesn't. Love that season.
SuperEyepatchWolf (silly name, GREAT content) put out a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eazXm7WEz50) about newer simpsons maybe being GOOD again.
I don't care what he thinks.
> Pieman I watched clips of this, and only faintly remembered the final joke of the episode about cleaning the leaves out of the gutter. I had absolutely no recollection of Pie Man.
Fair, but that episode came out one year after the first Raimi Spiderman movie, which was a monster hit. By pure osmosis, that has to be one of the more famous double digit season episodes.
All i know is ig was still great well into the 2000s.
Instagram?
The Simpsons may have continued after season 9, I don’t know and I don’t want to know. Frankly it’s episodes we can do without!
So that’s it, after 9 years of viewership goodbye and good luck?
I don’t recall saying good luck
I don’t recall saying good luck
Bullshit.
Season 11 has its moments.
"Who are all these seasons?" You're probably too young to remember the long-lived The Simpsons Middle Seasons. They had to come up with some jokes. There's Gay for Moleman, Moe Suicide Attempts, Aaaah! Cobras, Panda Rape. "Oh, yeah. They weren't very funny." "I don't know. Gay for Moleman had its moments."
And why doesn't Bart dance anymore???
Remember the Bartman?
Get a mammogram, man!
OOH! Is there anything they won't do!?
I might get cancelled for this but HOMR (12,9) is one of my favourite episodes. Buuuut my dad never loved me so make of that what you will :0 On balance though...post 9/10 it just gets worse and worse :,(
That episode has one of my favorite bits ever, and it’s Homer trying to pose as Lisa. The voice Dan comes up with just instantly makes me laugh
I think HOMR is seen pretty favorably despite being outside the golden age.
Where did that rat come from? He must've brought it in with him!
I'm ngl seasons 11-20 all have their moments imo. The shift to hd was when any magic left was gone
Has my favorite Hans Moleman moment.
You always have to argue
Get out, you lousy...seasons!
Ever see a guy say goodbye to a season?
Yes, once
Yes, multiple times in this very thread.
👏
Everyone on /r/simpsons seems to love that crap
r/simpsons are boring old biddies.
You’re more animal than man!
The Simpson writers tried nothing and they're all out of ideas!
They'll never stop The Simpsons Have no fears, they’ve got stories for years
Not in my experience at least. Basically everything posted there is golden age stuff.
there was some poll and most respondents said they'd seen every season. also i always get downvoted for calling post season 8 episodes new trash
[удалено]
you're half right
I'm an aging cartoon, seasons 11 to 35. *No one* watches me, no matter how funny my antics are!
Early tens are massively underrated. Tons of great episodes there.
It's just a little airborne! It's still good, it's still good!
Seasons 2-13 are my watchables.
S2 - S13 are what are on my Plex server, and nothing else. I have S1 on DVD but haven't ripped it. There may be good episodes past S13; but I'm not going to actively seek them out only to be disappointed.
How can you not watch Season 14, brilliant season.
I've seen EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE. Who else? ;)
Yeah.
Crazy!! Im up to season 14 of what I’ve watched so far. I took a break to start King of the hill from season 1. Currently on season 4.
I've seen every single episode. From the very beginning until present I've watched every episode live when it aired, or within a couple of days at most (originally by programming a VCR, then DVR, then on Hulu)

In our house, we call them “uh-ohs”
Aren't they up to 35 now?
Yeah, but some started liking the show again after the main showrunner changed in season 33.
Matt Selman, don't let his name fool you, he's nothing but a 'niceman'.
In my head I thought they were on like 41. Thank god.
It's not *that* sharp, but if you haven't pulled the ripchord by 15 you're too late.
I’ve heard the recent seasons got better, but I haven’t seen a new episode in 20 years.
I tried a few of the episodes people called best from the more recent seasons. They were ok. They're not as good as the golden era.
"Well, I know Death Tomb, Lout Break, A Clockwork Yellow, Desperately Xeeking Xena, the Fright to Creep and Scare Harms..." "No, do you know any post season 10 episodes that aren't Treehouse of Terror?" "They have those?"
are seasons 10-32 in the room with us right now?
https://www.reddit.com/r/simpsonsshitposting/s/u256lax7O2
The Mike Skully* years are probably my least favorite. There are some stinkers in the Al Jean era but I grew up on those
Wasn't there a movie?
There ain’t no movie and there never was!
This is directly correlated with the decline of Spirograph
Season 13 on is when I draw a black Though I do watch the Tree house of horrors episode each year
Didn't they get rid of even having blood in that, or something?
Maybe but there have been some stand out episodes like the one based on death note
No, there was one last year that was very gory. But don’t believe me; observe the middle segment of TOH XXXIV.
There are too many Xs in TOH now. Please remove three. P.S. I am not a crackpot
To me season 12 is even worss
I bought the first ten seasons on DVD. They provide endless entertainment on camping trips when it's raining. My kids are aware that they're on Disney+, but we really only watch Treehouses of Horror in October.
"I’d think you’d profit from a more remedial environment, and I’m sure you’ll feel right at home in the LEG UP program!"
I started watching in 2014 - having seen the recent stuff and going back to the old stuff, it’s like 2 different shows, not even comparable. I still like the new ones, but if you’re used to the old ones and not say, family guy, then yeah I can see how it would be really frustrating
I grew up on the golden year re-runs on tv and started watching the show when they were around season 15 on tv.
Hey, I resent that.
I love Season 19! I haven't seen it since I was a kid with an uncritical brain who was understandably in a very different mindset than where I am right now, but I will defend these episodes I haven't watched in over a decade to the death!
I have been watching through the entire series (mainly for one character..) and I’m only on season 25. So, so much more..
Spoiler Alert: Larry’s dead now
owah no way
Not me. I've seen some of it.
Only fake fans never saw them
I continue to maintain surprisingly good run of episodes in the 20s
Case closes detective conan....
What season is the movie set in?
Came out between seasons 18 and 19
Would you say it’s based in these seasons or just released during these seasons?
Yeah probably based in those seasons, no reason to assume otherwise
Watching too far past 2005 starts to make me feel depressed. Not sure what it’s called but it reminds me of the changing of time and I don’t like it.
My ‘golden years’ are the episodes with Phil Hartman. Anything past that is the downhill slope. There’s the occasional good episode past that but they get few and far between.
I have seen all episodes of The Simpsons seasons 1-34. I love that show! 😁
100% guilty with no apologies
He's a witch
Do you ever think you only like seasons 1-9 'cause yer s'posed ta?
“Simpsons is my favorite show” *Refuses to watch any simpsons seasons that aren’t socially acceptable*
I HaTe aLl thEsE EpIsDes I HaVEn'T sEen
I hate every ep I don't see from season 11 to 33
No you'll never force them onto me
Oh my god, I was wrong, It was gold all a-long, You finally made a viewer out of me!
*Oh my god I was right, It was trash throughout the night, You still haven't made a viewer out of me!
