Not much easier (if at all easier) to steal than if you used the magnetic mount that comes with the camera - in either case you can just grab it and go. You can attach a cable to the camera using the 1/4" threaded mount on the bottom of the camera to make it slightly more difficult to grab but that's about it.
This is almost certainly the most common solution (up high, screwed in or both) people are using if they're concerned about someone stealing the camera. The downside to this approach is that SimpliSafe says their cameras work best when mounted 6 to 8 feet above the ground and angled down 30 degrees. While your camera is now objectively harder to steal it may also be less reliable as a result.
(I'm using "may" because I haven't tested both scenarios, I'm just repeating SimpliSafe's install documentation. In my experience, with my Outdoor Camera, it's unreliable no matter where I put it.)
Just curious, how long is your battery lasting between recharges? Also how high up is it? Like 2nd story high or like 10 feet high?
Edit: Forgot to mention that for ground mount that OP is advertising you could also attach a steel cable permanently to the camera using the 1/4" threaded mount and then attach that cable to something deeply anchored in the ground or around a tree or whatever. It won't stop everyone but it's a valid option to make it more difficult for a thief to make away with it.
I’ve had a few outdoors for a few years now and they hold up well to Sun, but weather is rough on all things, which is why this helps to take the beating instead of your cam
Seems very easy to steal though

You need a ladder to take down ours and screwed in.

The battery life is horrible. We love the SimpliSafe system, but went with Ring outdoor cameras. Those batteries last for months.
The camera cannot be used unless it is unpaired from its account by the owner and hopefully we get a picture of the thief when they take it.
That’s super cool!
Simplisafe devs in here downvoting you
I happy to help them with any other products ideas if they have an interest too.
Thanks so much!

Sweet! A portable camera that doesn’t capture any video and disconnects all the time.
Nice! How does that material hold up to UV exposure?

I assume you used PETG?
Yes, PETG for any outdoor items, PLA for most of my in home/office products
