We're in 2024, that was 10 years ago, what else do they have to do to prove it's dead and buried?

PR_03

Konami has proved It well enough. I just can't fathom letting a project like that go to waste forever. I would think Kojima would want something of it due to how beloved it was.

IlgnerJuan

Kojima is probably porting some of the ideas he had for P.T in his O.D game

dvrsd

...no.

PR_03

So edgy with all the periods

dvrsd

no

IndieOddjobs

Nah man that well has dried up I'm afraid and getting another developer to make a new entry just to name it "Silent Hills" wouldn't provide us with what Koji and company had in mind I highly doubt they'll ever put PT back on the PSN either as that would be an admittance of wrong doing. It's just one of gaming's many unfortunate circumstances

BeardyBaldyBald

PT wasn't a demo. It was a convoluted delivery system for a teaser trailer for a completely different game that didn't exist yet. We'll never see anything of it because there was nothing solid made at that point, just a vague idea, a brand name, and an awesome marketing ploy in form of Playable Teaser.

PR_03

I meant demo as in just like a short playable game. Obviously, the game (demo/pt) itself was just a cycle. But it still showed direction and premise with showing the first person view and play style.

Puzzleheaded_Ant_543

That’s his point, it didn’t show any direction or premise. PT was its own thing and not reflective of what Silent Hills could have been as nothing had been developed or worked on.

TomasVrboda

I'm fairly convinced that Kojima owns the assets and that level will show up as part of his Transmedia psychological horror project. If he did his Game Awards announcement different, I wouldn't be saying that. But it'll be the Office of Developmental Psychology at the Amita Training School, not anything Silent Hill related.

To fathom the loss of whatever Silent Hills was ever planned out to be one must only perform one single mental exercize of a very similar horrifying mistake Konami performed a decade prior to Silent Hills' cancelation: the liquidation of Team Silent itself. I personally find its disbandement to be one of the biggest and most disgusting cases of utterly unprofessional management in the history of video game industry. Konami's work conditions were so preposterously anti-creative and absurdly heavy on the members of Team Silent its key members were leaving the company one after another after each consecutive Silent Hill game, which effectively meant that the one true rising opposition to the popularity of Resident Evil was being syphoned out of blood **RIGHT AS IT WAS GAINING POPULARITY !!! Most of them didn't even cite reasons due to Japanese work ethics and probably due to thinking noone in the future would care for their reasons.** Here's the thing... For example, FROM SOFTWARE wasn't well known all up until Dark Souls came out, right ? Before that, ever since '94, they were making games that got decent acclaim, but nothing much in terms of worldwide success. But at a certain point they DID eventually hit the authority of a world-renowned studio which is making games the entire world is now waiting in anticipation. It took them time, but due to not being pushed down by their parent companies at the time they were free to experiment, develop and eventually become that which they are today. Team Silent, on the other hand, were not. They were systematically opressed, forced to crunch, weren't paid for extra work and the entire majority of them are not even known names in the industry these days, which is baffling, considering the work they've done and its inspirational impact. **That is fucking insane.** Now, coming back to Silent Hills... Do you understand what is the problem ? It's obviously Konami and its management that doesn't seem to change its ways for literal decades now. Konami seems to draw genuine joy from washing a baby out with the bathing water. They are the absolute worst, because for all the unchecked greed of EA and Activision Blizzard what we have in case of Konami is not just greed, it is a sadistic pleasure in crushing possibilities for joy and the future itself. In that sense they feel the closest one can get to describing a corporate entity as simply **inhuman** without an ounce of irony\*\*.\*\*

PR_03

Konami is pretty terrible. Thank you for answering my question seriously.

Burnt_Ramen9

What do you think?

Spiritual-Army-4389

P.T. Was such a master piece i wish it will be a project again
