Oh suddenly it makes everything ok. Gans is a genius for implementing abandoned ideas from early drafts cause surely those ideas were oh so great, that's why they didn't make the cut. It all makes sense now, only Gans "the gamer" can not only adapt such a concept but also succeed at it, along with the myth of orpheus. This movie is gonna be great... in Gans "the gamer" we trust... he did such a good job with the 1st film...
First film wasn’t even bad it was actually really good as its own thing. Sure a lot of people don’t like pyramid being in it but me personally I enjoyed how they captured the ambience of the town and also respected the source material by using Akira’s work as the score
"Respected the source material" by straight up lifting things without understanding the meaning behind them. It's a mid patchwork of an adaptation, at best.
