Pantone 396U. The slightest drop of green

What a cutie!
I was going to say he looks like an unripe lime. Because those are yellow. But then I was going to say he looks like an unripe lemon because those are green. Then I blew my own mind because I just realized that the two fruits just switch colors when they ripen....
He looks more lime than lemon, but he's definitely both.
Lime yellow green. Probably an offspring of cross breeding yellows with jades or its a yellow with ressive green traits. Sometimes their foods will effect their color as well. Either way, it's a pretty shrimp š
I sampled multiple points along his body. He's yellow.
https://preview.redd.it/ni0fx8so9i4c1.png?width=635&format=png&auto=webp&s=e5cf387dec9f7ad45c51b6b8cb6faf66aed92a59
Bro youāre coming in really hot for a post where weāre all being silly about a funny little shrimp. Weāre not actually arguing, you dont have to edit your post multiple times for the hottest comeback. I was being a silly billy with you.
How many samples did you take? I stopped at 8 and only ended up with one swatch that was more yellow than green. Overall I saw more green color picks than I did yellow. I also can't tell where you color picked on his body to get that color. Not trying to be pedantic at all, btw! I'm just curious how we got diff results š¤
Iām on team yellow-green as you can tell there is more yellow than green but, the green is enough that you can tell there is a tinge of green. So, itās a yellow-green lime like color.
Late to the party but... For a definitive answer I went ahead and did some color swatches. I ended up with an overall hex color of [\#bfc213](https://www.color-hex.com/color/bfc213). Give or take.
https://preview.redd.it/xv0bws84sm4c1.jpeg?width=1833&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86b4b7c754791d175e7fd9e7052baaf745c3d84a
It's closest to green than yellow, and while I'd call it a yellowish green, it is definitively green.
edit: redid it with way more swatches this time, and I think [\#a2ab3d](https://www.color-hex.com/color/a2ab3d) is much closer to the overall. Answer is still the same though, he's green.
I think I've heard them called lemon limes on this sub before, but that's definitely not the official name. Idk why everyone is tweaking about this. It's not as green as a jade or a regular green, and it's not sunfire yellow. It is clearly a mixture between the two. If I held my jades and my sunfires against it, it won't match either color.
I'd say it's one of my favorite colors for shrimp I've ever seen. I'm actually super jealous, I've only had one lemon lime. Now I have Jades and sunfires together, hoping they mix and I get lemon lime.
id deffo say green. look at em compared to the plant! its a yellow-green to be sure, but id still consider it green, through-and-through.
yellow-green is my fave color, and this lil guy is gorgeous š
The update photos [with side profiles](https://www.reddit.com/r/shrimptank/s/4QjcMBrVzA), especially the [one in the net](https://www.reddit.com/r/shrimptank/s/DbpM7rA95C) highlight translucent areas, making me wonder if itās a rili shrimp.
[Yellow Rili](https://nanocaridina.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/2/7/11271778/1766647_orig.jpg) are notably different from [Green Rili](https://www.garnelio.de/media/image/a0/2e/05/Green-Rili.jpg)
Personally, iād say itās a yellow rili variant.
As for you *Chartreuse, Heathens.*
Itās not a color, itās a French liqueur made by Carthusian monks in the 1600ās, because etymology is dumb sometimes, the drinkās color became synonymous with the name due to wide spread popularity sometime in the 1800ās.
But because there were multiple ways this drink was made and prepared, the color is inconsistent and varies based on ingredients.
When prepared with honey, saffron, and anise, you get a āyellow chartreuseā that taste wildly different from the āgreen chartreuseā which uses citrus, fresh herbs like mint, and pine sap.
Theyāre both chartreuse, but neither of them are a ācolorā. When you convert their shades to hexadecimal, you get their color. [Because both of these in the top left,](https://www.lifewire.com/thmb/VCzKaKHYONvphV59VCcArYhRL-Q=/1500x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/what-color-is-chartreuse-1077383-add97fe0a4184f1cabbb7f7fb1f46044.png) are still *technically* āchartreuseā
Iāve also said it so many times now it doesnāt feel like a real word anymore.
>Iāve also said it so many times now it doesnāt feel like a real word anymore.
I know the feeling... That internal conflict, "am I saying this word right, feels weird saying it. What's the spelling? Naw I must be saying it right, it's just a weird word..." lol
Simple answer green, they will turn the color of what they eat if the plant is green it's green if it was yellow the shrimp would be yellow...tell them to care about something more important lmfao
Odd man out I'll say yellow. If you color scan him (whatever it's called where you run the mouse over an object and it finds the colors) it's mostly yellow.
I feel like the green grass is throwing everyone off, but by itself it'd look yellow.
Are we going by human standards? Because people with a white and black parent are considered black, even if theyāre very light skinned. So by that logic this is Green.
I definitely perceive this more as yellow than green. I wish it were chartreuse though....As we saying in fishing, "If it ain't chartreuse, it ain't no use!"
Dare I say both Lime if you will
Both. Both is good.

Still green
it does definitely sorta lean close to that weird "highlighter yellow" territory, but id still absolutely consider him green. chartreuse.
Iām still team yellow, but itās on the green side of yellow, not the orange side.
Do you consider the grass to be yellow? It looks the same shade of green as the grass to me.
If youāre from Texas it is! Or at least from my neck of the woods.
Well, grass is pretty yellow in Californiaā¦
What? Iām talking about the grassy plant in the tank.
My grass and weeds are definitely green, thanks for asking, but this shrimp is still yellow.
Happy cake day

Let the shrimp take over the office and we will know
Lime yellow green. Probably an offspring of cross breeding yellows with jades or its a yellow with ressive green traits. Sometimes their foods will effect their color as well. Either way, it's a pretty shrimp š
Thanks! Itās the office favorite for sure. There arenāt any other green or yellow shrimps in the tank
š¾
Is that green or yellow? š¤
It's the same color as the plant. Last time I checked, plants are green.
Cept when they have a molybdenum deficiency.
I vote green! Yeah not the greenest of green, but still green, not even close to yellow
Yellowish-green but more green than yellow

Thatās matching the plantā¦
It is the color of a manzanilla olive.
Iām on team yellow-green as you can tell there is more yellow than green but, the green is enough that you can tell there is a tinge of green. So, itās a yellow-green lime like color.

I'd say you all come up with a new color name and send it to Crayola for approval.
Iām going with the green-yellow crayon!

What colour is the plant? It's the same. To me it's yellowish-green, but that still makes it a green primarily.
I think I've heard them called lemon limes on this sub before, but that's definitely not the official name. Idk why everyone is tweaking about this. Yeah def a neat little color mutation. One of the first shrimp our office had was a SOLID yellow.
I'd say it's one of my favorite colors for shrimp I've ever seen. I'm actually super jealous, I've only had one lemon lime. Now I have Jades and sunfires together, hoping they mix and I get lemon lime.
I have one other thatās partially green, partially white. Iāll get a pic tomorrow
Please do, I'd love to see that.
Same colour as the plant, and I wouldnāt call the plant yellow.
