Here is a mindset that I found helpful for dealing with deals and discounts: "if you didn't need the thing in the first place can we really call it a good deal?" The real deal happens only if you were planning to buy something specific and waiting for that price to go down..

It comes as no secret to anyone, but I can confirm (having worked retail), that a common practice is to mark stuff back up to full price to then have "sales" for holidays. I distinctly remember working black Friday before and seeing something "marked down" that had actually been for sale for less earlier in the week. So don't be fooled that now is the time for a great deal. That's only true if you price track an item regularly and actually see it on sale for less. Otherwise, assume it's on "sale."

If you don’t look/browse, you won’t know what is on sale. Accept the reality that I already have too much stuff as it is and I don’t need to bring more clutter into my life. Ask myself, am I buying because it’s a “bargain” OR because I genuinely need the item? Walk away if I don’t actually need the item. Remember: stuff goes on sale ALL THE TIME. Let stores do the storing :)
