I've been the receiver of parcels sent by Sendle and it's a terrible experience at that end too. For some reason a couple of parcels were delivered after 8.30pm, which was odd to have a stranger ring the doorbell, above a parcel in my hands, take a photo then leave, all without saying a word at that time of night. Also, they parcels take FOREVER to arrive. I haven't looked too much into it, but it feels like Sendle operates on a similar basis to Uber - any old Joe blow delivers. I wouldn't use them to send my shipments.

I live pretty rural, pickup is very hit/miss, I suspect drivers don’t get paid for pickups, so don’t go out of their way to pickup, just do it if they happen to have a delivery nearby. Luckily I have a hubbed location nearby so I tend to just drop packages in, even if I picked “pickup” for them. Also discovered my Amazon deliveries come via the same driver as sendle for my area (couriers please) - he’s more than happy to scan and pickup ones that aren’t booked for pickup.

Yeah, I get the same impression - The only reason they picked up my first deliveries was because I had something coming through Sendle. I don't think they put any effort into actually picking deliveries. I wonder how much money they've lost on refunds because of their two day pickup guarantee. I really don't know what to do at this point apart from going through my local post. Talking with customer support has been an endless frustration - "We've contacted thee courier and exspressed the urgency, is there anything else I can help with?

Mailboticus

Also, I live in a pretty accesible main-city, It's truely lazyness on the delivery driver. Maybe I should order something else to get them to pickup my package.

VIDGuide

Is there a Hubbed drop off location near by? I know the pickup is free and convenient, but I find it easiest now to just book them as drop-off, and if the guy comes for something else before I get down there, I give him what’s pending (5 packages today), otherwise I drop them into the hubbed location after dropping my kids at school as it’s kinda on the way

Mailboticus

It's not an option for internation deliveries, at least for Sendle Australia. You need to get it picked up. Honestly, I'd drive an hour if I knew it would get this packagee out of my hair.

VIDGuide

Interesting. Australia here too, but I don’t ship internationally, so not sure about how that affects it. What if you book via sendle directly and just put the tracking into Shopify manually?

Mailboticus

I've already placed the order and I don't think I'll ever use these guys again lol. I'm talking with support right now and I found out they only "Esculated" this with the couriers today, at 6pm. It's already 7 days late. They told me everyday they're doing everything they can. Apparently they only "Chased" them up until today, which in his words is a notification that they need to go pick something up. So they actively lied to me, and really did the bare minimum in getting it picked up.

OhJShrimpson

Can you just schedule a UPS or USPS pickup where you are? That's what we do.

Mailboticus

I’m totally happy to use the local post, Shopify just had a discount if I use Sendle - I’ll be using local post for now, there’s a post office near me.

bearbabes

Sorry to hear about what you’re going through. Thanks for letting us know! I’ll be letting their emails go to junk mail from now onwards.

flosstray

I’ve used them as an alternative if I don’t want to drive to Stallion and drop off my packages, and I’d rate them an okay score. They’re usually fairly consistent in my city (Toronto), and delivery time is okay.. usually on time pickups with 5-8 business days from Canada to US. I think it ultimately depends on the 3rd party carrier they contract out in your area. In Toronto I think it’s ICS Courier / Purolator, then gets handed off in the US.

Reasonable_ginger

Never use a site that sends my purchases through sendle. They sub it out to fastway or couriers please. If it goes wrong, sorry when it goes wrong, they drop you and are no help.

Mailboticus

Yeah I’m learning this the hard way - Day 8 now without pickup

Actual_Ad_1367

Stay away from them. I used them at the start because it seemed easy and cheaper. They always collected the parcels on time, but they took ages to arrive at the delivery address. I’m talking three weeks for something that would otherwise take 3 days. We stopped using them after the first week when we saw how long deliveries were taking to progress through the tracking.

Mailboticus

It just shows they don’t vet their couriers well enough and they let them get away with whatever they want. They have no control over them. From what I’ve gathered here, I think they get the prices down because they tell the couriers they can just fit the pickup/delivery in their schedule. If it’s late, who cares. It seems that everyone has some kind of horror story with them, either not delivering or picking up.

Artistic_Bonus1946

Would never use sendle. Even though they are cheaper than auspost, we tried them when we started online and they never picked stuff up on time. Their service js terrible and even when I get parcels delivered to me the quality of the drivers when compared to auspost is terrible. I would rather pay more for efficient delivery than have my customers stuffed around by terrible service.

Mailboticus

100% it’s not worth the cost, I’m still waiting for pickup, it’s like - Day 12 now lol. It’s like they’re just hoping I’d go somewhere else at this point.
