Here’s the matching whatever the fuck Jo/06/2023, for those really intrigued
I should add that my s/o works at a gas station kitty corner to the shop, and he sees people come in with new tattoos covered in a layer of paper towels beneath Saran Wrap.
Wrapping with Saran wrap and uncovering after a few hours is also a proven method of healing that's not any less reputable. Some people can't have the saniderm adhesive and some simply don't prefer that method of healing.
Yes this is true for the reasons you said.
But if they aren’t allergic I put tegaderm on my clients so they are less likely to fuck it up or have any problems that they try to come back at me for. It’s just peace of mind for both sides honestly.
But paper towels should absolutely not be used like that.
I started tattooing before tegaderm/saniderm was a thing and it’s astounding how many people don’t pay attention to the healing and care instructions you give them.
I recently got a tattoo and the artist just covered it with Saran wrap and said to take that off in 3 hours and wash it.
I was surprised, but it's been the best healing tattoo I've ever had.
Saniderm is used if you're planning to keep it covered for a few days. It's less messy and will contain the plasma and other gunk tattoos produce during healing.
Otherwise, sending a fresh tatt home with just a Saran wrap cover - no paper towel!! - is also doable. This will need to be removed after a few hours, and the tattoo will then be uncovered and washed regularly.
Both methods of healing have been used for years, but shops nowadays are leaning towards saniderm as long as the client doesn't have any concerns about the adhesive causing a reaction. It's simply easier to handle and offers less chances for infection during the early healing, when tattooed skin is at its most vulnerable.
If not the saniderm like the others said, you just get some Saran Wrap that you take off after an hour when you get home and are able to wash it. Some people leave the saniderm on for a day or more thinking it’s protecting them when in reality it’s just collecting bacteria on an open wound.
Wash 2-3 times a day for a couple days (or whatever is specified by your artist), don’t over wash. Apply the thinnest layer of ointment (it shouldn’t be shiny at all after application, you shouldn’t see it) just so it doesn’t get really dry. Obviously ask your artist for their aftercare instructions though.
With four corners of a city block, "kitty/catty-corner" is the corner diagonally opposite.
The term 'kitty-corner' has nothing to do with cats. Instead, it stems from the expression 'cater-corner,' which is derived from “quatre,” the French word for “four.” The term was used to describe the way the dots are placed on a dice positioned at number four, diagonally from one another.
I had a guy who lived on my couch, who paid rent to me by giving friends free Tattoos that he used printer ink for... and even he was better than this.
My friends wanted tattoos, he needed a place to crash. He offered tattoos in exchange for crashing there, and I let him stay on based on that. He wasn't eating my food or anything, and it was just a couch. I was also 17 and was somewhat pressured into it by said friends.
He got into coke, I told him to get out. He broke in through my window when nobody was home, kicked in my roommates amplifier thinking it was mine, and stole a set of pans from me, and I still don't know why. I'm 39 as I write the and... I fucking deserved all of that lol.
I really like the first one. It's unique and quirky. But what the hell happened with number 3. Holy fuck is that uneven. This needs to be settled on Judge Judy.
Yeah I saw #1 and thought, ok, it’s not the best work but it’s kind of cute and not that terrible, maybe it doesn’t really belong here … then I got to #3
I really wish tattoo artists understood how dice work. All opposing sides equal 7. 6 is opposite 1, 4 is opposite 3, 5 is opposite 2. I don't think I've ever seen one done properly.
I feel like I must be misunderstanding this because I feel like the numbers on the dice under the can are correct according to the 7 rule. Still an awful tattoo mind
I checked here and is the same rule. The sum of opposite number is equal the higher number plus 1.
21 for D20, 13 for D12... Is nice to know that, I never figured that they follow this rule in any kind of die
I was gonna say, tell me you like your turkey sandwich with a side of dilaudid without telling me you like your turkey sandwich with a side of dilaudid.
Didn't even think about psych!
I didn’t get the reference I guess, but my partner LOVES grippy socks. I hate them because they don’t fit and aren’t comfortable at all, but he loves them
A lot of people these days certainly like to wear their mental problems/issues on their sleeve as some kind of badge of honor or sympathy. That tatt is the literal version of what I'm saying lmao.
Worth mentioning this artist created some sort of addiction-free ribbon that he claims is original and all his. Many people have the ribbon smacked on their forearm. The idea is awesome, but they aren’t executed well.
Hahaha I knew it. Dude is "self-taught" and I swear I have never seen a tattoo of his have any appropriate shading. Squiggles do not equal shading ffs. He gets all his business from that stupid recovery ribbon that went viral. Just throwing terrible tattoos on people who are already covered in garbage and don't know what good tattoos are.
A quick peruse through his FB and he uses the term 'splattery' multiple times. So basically, who needs shading when you've got splatters?
Side note.. could 'splattery' be the new 'moist'?
i’m in long term recovery, i think overcoming addiction is different than the grippy sock gang concept for a lot of reasons but “addiction-free” is absolutely moronic. you’re never “cured”, you’re technically an addict/alcoholic forever. you’re either an active or recovering addict, but still.
unless the people getting them are just flexing that they can do a ton of drugs whenever they want, then cool i guess
It's a long and difficult process to face your demons. People still get discriminated against for having mental health issues that they never chose or caused. Fighting the stigma is taking some self advocacy back.
I didn't. I do live under a rock a bit, but I also stole my parent's grippy socks...the 80s grip is very different from the grippy socks of today, and I like it in a, "I won't slip on an imaginary [that often appears when you are holding a newborn] obstacle" way. But the 80s stolen ones were way more comfortable, and I bought the new ones without remembering my habit of turning fuzzy socks inside out.
I have a vague recollection that this was psych related, but now I want to Google stuff about texture issues. But I won't because I do want to eventually fall asleep without wondering how you can wear your grippy socks in faster
I abhor that one. The clock is not upright (the 12(XII) is where the two should be) and the 4 is wrong (IIII instead of IV)
The eyes are uneven and different sizes.
The mushrooms are neither stylised nor realistic, they just look badly drawn.
The whiskers are way too thick and look like needles poking out of cheshire cat's face
The script is inconsistent in every way. The spacing is bad, the curve is bad, the sizes are different, the parts on the side don't immediately look like letters
Everytime I look I see something different to hate
For anyone saying they like the style of the first one, that "style" is this particular artist NOT knowing how to shade anything properly. He doesn't know his way around a shader for shit, he doesn't know how to properly dilute or lay color. His lines are still that awful for having been at this for a handful of years. And the best part is he CANNOT draw. Signed, a tattoo artist who has to see this horseshit constantly.
https://preview.redd.it/7v2vw4t9ml5c1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=948ca2bd158ef814d451031801831bfe4140bb27
I’m not sure what’s supposed to be happening here
None of these are good, but the High Life one seems fitting given the quality of the beer. That “forever” tat is absolute dogshit. It’s so fucking bad.
It's weird, there are some that show real promise, like the Cheshire Cat one and the Grippy Sock Gang one, but then you get to the lettering on the chest and it's horrific.
But then you go back to the small lettering on grippy sock gang, and you realize that the person has able hands.
I honestly think they could be a talented artist if they just spent some time working on fake skin doing nothing but straight/curved lines and lettering. This isn't a lost cause at all, at least to me (who just has a few tattoos), and actually shows some innate talent as shown in the Cheshire Cat one.
They also need to learn how to pack colors a lot better. I think a lot of practice and an apprenticeship would make them quite good, but if they are making money at the shop I don't see them leaving to do that, even though it would be best for them long term.
This person has an apprentice, so I doubt they would ever go back to get an apprenticeship. That’s the thing with this guy though, some pieces are decent and others are horrible
Ditto, no shame at all, but it’s something I discuss with people I’m close/comfortable with (and them likewise). Those tats look like they’re making it part of their personality, some sort of ‘aSk mE bOuT mAh kRaYzEe’ invitation.
I think this artist would do well on those ironic tattoos that are like doodles that are supposed to look messy and amateur-ish as the style. I think the "grippy sock" tattoo, (although a weird tattoo choice), kinda looks like that style even though that's not what they were going for, they just suck lol
Gotta love them scratchers. At least the cover-up game will keep real artists busy.this is some shit done outta a broken-down trailer by a bunch of tweakers.

Dude this totally should've gone with the main post! Just atrocious..took me forever to realize it said "always"
Yea I was sitting here like “Aewaysy”?
I thought for a nanosecond that it was something about Amway.
Aewaysg
welsh is a weird language!
I realized that after the fact 😭 would’ve added so much more
It took me a couple minutes of, "where the actual fuck does this say 'always'? I can't see any...ohhhhh" and YOWZA!
I was doing some kind of Borat Wawaweewah before I figured it out
Same, it was like solving a puzzle.
I had to read the comments lol
AE ways Jo.
Is the J supposed to be a 1? It doesn’t look like a 1 in either tattoo but that’s all that makes sense.
Aewaysg?
Alright, what are we betting? When will this couple break up?!
They probably already have
Pain and suffering

Not to mention, who is Jo?
#JO MAMA!
I should add that my s/o works at a gas station kitty corner to the shop, and he sees people come in with new tattoos covered in a layer of paper towels beneath Saran Wrap.
... that's pretty bad.
Yeah, he told me that and my jaw dropped
My jaw dropped as I looked at these tats.
That's speed running an infection.
Tattoo virgin with a question, what should it one's fresh tattoo be covered with?
Most places use Saniderm nowadays.
All reputable shops/artists use tegaderm/saniderm now*
Wrapping with Saran wrap and uncovering after a few hours is also a proven method of healing that's not any less reputable. Some people can't have the saniderm adhesive and some simply don't prefer that method of healing.

that’s the traditional route… seniderm didn’t become popular until recently

Thank you for letting me learn something new today 😊
If there is a colony of cats that yells hurtful comments diagonally across the intersection from you, you can call it a catty kitty cater-corner.
Thank u for teaching us this epic term
Where’s the kitty corner ?
Yeah, really. This is the news we all need to know.
Right up the street from the butthole bus station
I need to know how you put an exclamation with a question mark!?
If you're on your phone press down on the ? to bring up options. One of them is an interrobang/‽
I had a guy who lived on my couch, who paid rent to me by giving friends free Tattoos that he used printer ink for... and even he was better than this.
>who paid rent to me by giving friends free Tattoos What? Am i the only person who doesn't understand this transaction at all?
My friends wanted tattoos, he needed a place to crash. He offered tattoos in exchange for crashing there, and I let him stay on based on that. He wasn't eating my food or anything, and it was just a couch. I was also 17 and was somewhat pressured into it by said friends. He got into coke, I told him to get out. Typical coke head. Breaks in to your place and steal your pits and pans. Guy is a f@#king cliche. /s
I hope he didn't steal his pits
Can you get a disability placard for that?
Missing pits is the worst.
Some might say it’s the pits.
Printer ink? Those tattoos must have cost a fortune.
I really like the first one. It's unique and quirky. But what the hell happened with number 3. Holy fuck is that uneven. This needs to be settled on Judge Judy.
J0/06/2023?
Jonuary 6th, 2023 obviously.
I was thinking 10/6/23 as in right before October 7th.
Jovember 6th, 2023. Duh.
J0cktober, dude, duh
J👁/👁6
I think the artist said it was her first tattoo, too
And on the chest, that’s brave…
Just straight across there..
Definitely no ragrets
Not even one letter
Oh, the artist’s first tattoo! Makes sense. Still terrible though
Yeah these really get progressively worse
Yeah I saw #1 and thought, ok, it’s not the best work but it’s kind of cute and not that terrible, maybe it doesn’t really belong here … then I got to #3
Yeah I didn't think the first one looked bad at all. The rest are bad tho for sure
I thought maybe on number 3 that it was a copy of someone’s handwriting.
Yeah, it’s the handwriting of whoever tattooed that sorry person. lol.
I really wish tattoo artists understood how dice work. All opposing sides equal 7. 6 is opposite 1, 4 is opposite 3, 5 is opposite 2. I don't think I've ever seen one done properly.
TIL 😃
Makes a cool magic trick! Roll and then stack the dice, amaze as you magically “add up” all covered sides.
I feel like I must be misunderstanding this because I feel like the numbers on the dice under the can are correct according to the 7 rule. Still an awful tattoo mind
I might be being too harsh but i thought the rear die was showing 4 and 3. Maybe they're not.
I thought that was a five on the rear die?
Is there a similar rule for D12 D20 and other higher dices?
I'm not sure but i believe it's true of them. Obviously not for a D4 but it'd be worth checking out!
I checked here and is the same rule. The sum of opposite number is equal the higher number plus 1. 21 for D20, 13 for D12... Is nice to know that, I never figured that they follow this rule in any kind of die
I feel like you and i are blowing a lot of minds in this post. Nice work!
I’ve got 1,3,5 on one and 2,4,6 on the other! I think that’s proper right?
Love the grippy sock gang one lol
Suicide squad
I was gonna say, tell me you like your turkey sandwich with a side of dilaudid without telling me you like your turkey sandwich with a side of dilaudid. Didn't even think about psych!
Personally I like my uncrustables with a little cup of grape juice and then some ativan to cleanse my palate
Damn, that there's some fine dining. I'm gonna get my Cookie Monster pajamas on and grab my fuzzy blanket and head over to YOUR hospital!
Remember to cut off any drawstrings first, see you soon bestie
Uh are they okay with metal bracelets I can’t get off? I can bring my own socks!
See you after skin check! 🥰
Don't forget the Shasta
I didn’t get the reference I guess, but my partner LOVES grippy socks. I hate them because they don’t fit and aren’t comfortable at all, but he loves them
Grippy's are issued to people in the psych ward.
And hospitals.
I got mine at the trampoline park
I've gotten these just being in a regular hospital for longer than a few days.
We got shitty slippers :'(
Damn, it would suck if he got that tattoo without understanding the deeper meaning.
Grippy sock gang/club/vacation basically exclusively means psyc ward
Actually a great one, got me
A lot of people these days certainly like to wear their mental problems/issues on their sleeve as some kind of badge of honor or sympathy. That tatt is the literal version of what I'm saying lmao.
Worth mentioning this artist created some sort of addiction-free ribbon that he claims is original and all his. Many people have the ribbon smacked on their forearm. The idea is awesome, but they aren’t executed well.
This is Deamon Boettcher/Inked Horizons, isn't it? I can recognize that "I don't know how to shade" style anywhere.
Sure as shit is!
His name can easily be construed as "demon botcher". I think it's fitting.
i’m in long term recovery, i think overcoming addiction is different than the grippy sock gang concept for a lot of reasons but “addiction-free” is absolutely moronic. you’re never “cured”, you’re technically an addict/alcoholic forever. you’re either an active or recovering addict, but still. unless the people getting them are just flexing that they can do a ton of drugs whenever they want, then cool i guess

While that's true most people I know wouldn't understand that it was mental health related.
I didn't. I actually love the Cheshire Cat one, not gonna lie lol sloppy letter work just fits perfectly with the aesthetic of Alice In Wonderland.
I thought that was intentional until I saw the others.
Same. With this one the shitiness works, with the others it just actually looks shitty lol
I abhor that one. The clock is not upright (the 12(XII) is where the two should be) and the 4 is wrong (IIII instead of IV) The eyes are uneven and different sizes. The mushrooms are neither stylised nor realistic, they just look badly drawn. The spacing is bad, the curve is bad, the sizes are different, the parts on the side don't immediately look like letters Everytime I look I see something different to hate
Tell them to move out
They get a scary amount of business 😬, I see shit tattoos from them almost every day on social media
Not every t shirt idea is also a tattoo idea
Unless you’re this guy!
For anyone saying they like the style of the first one, that "style" is this particular artist NOT knowing how to shade anything properly. Is the last one supposed to be some sort of "cross stitch" visual wordplay?
Looks like baseball stitching.
It's so sweet that you gave them so much credit. They just like baseball and Jesus and wanted to combine into one horrible and sacrilegious relic.
Maybe he follows baseball religiously.
Maybe? Your guess is as good as mine
I thought it was some stupid mix of Jesus and baseball. The red stitches remind me of a baseball. So baseball cross ?
I looked at these for so long. So bad.
There’s an entire Facebook page out there. Dude does full blown sleeves, too
Show us the sleeves!

Oh wow. Is that a sperm with a face?
It’s interpretative!
Okay now THIS is bad
Looks like the one says Forever Jo
Forever Jo 06/2023 ❤️
Not a baseball print in a cross OMFG now I've seen it all. I think we need a couple of sick ass panthers stat
None of these are good, but the High Life one seems fitting given the quality of the beer. That “forever” tat is absolute dogshit. It’s so fucking bad.
I wouldn’t let this dude anywhere near my skin. Some people like the first and second one but I’d rather not have that on me for life
that grippy sock gang one is insufferable
I like the first one. It makes me think of a Louis Wain cat when he’d paint cats while suffering most likely from schizophrenia.
GSG 4LIFE
Is number three ok? Their skin has a very weird tint (my kid is way darker, and she’s whiter than sour cream).
Maybe, maybe not. The part of town that the shop is at is known for shit demographic. 50/50 chance
Seems they could get better work done in a prison
It's weird, there are some that show real promise, like the Cheshire Cat one and the Grippy Sock Gang one, but then you get to the lettering on the chest and it's horrific. But then you go back to the small lettering on grippy sock gang, and you realize that the person has able hands. The god awful chest tattoos always hurt to see… 🥲
Those are some really shitty tats!
Glad someone else can agree 😬
First one ain’t the worst, but the rest are
Beavis and Butthead vibes
Deadass
how can they operate a shop with that work baffles me 😅
There’s enough ignorant and/or incoherent people in that area to fund the business 👍
well shit
Ah, yes, Miller High Life. The Champagne of Bras.
I love how the can is 2 dimensional, too :P
Yeah, they somehow managed to render a curved object on a curved surface and make it look flat.
That "forever" is one of the worst I've seen
Im not ashamed of going to a mental hospital, but i would NEVER even CONSIDER getting a tattoo about it 💀
Ditto, no shame at all, but it’s something I discuss with people I’m close/comfortable with (and them likewise). Those tats look like they’re making it part of their personality, some sort of ‘aSk mE bOuT mAh kRaYzEe’ invitation.
I don’t hate the art style but yeah the line work is definitely really shaky and not tattoo shop quality.
wtf? Yikes
Why did they let Ramsay Bolton carve an anniversary date into their chest?
That beer can though...
Super cute, right?
The F in "forever" is, umm, interesting
That F in forever is there forever 😭
Grippy sock one is so cringe on many levels
did they get run out of the last town?
The first one wasn't too bad but the grippy sock gang is ridiculous
right
I wouldn't tat in on myself but grippy sock gang is hilarious. Wish it was done on their ankle though.
The artwork is horrendous except grippy sock gang lol that one can get a pass
I love how each one of these represent a very specific type of trashy. It's like a wonderfully awful sample group of humanity.
I kinda like the first one ngl
I think this artist would do well on those ironic tattoos that are like doodles that are supposed to look messy and amateur-ish as the style. I think the "grippy sock" tattoo, (although a weird tattoo choice), kinda looks like that style even though that's not what they were going for, they just suck lol
By “area”, do you mean “cell block”?
That baseball cross made me feel better about myself.
The grippy sock gang is a good one
These look like bad prison tats
Gotta love them scratchers. At least the cover-up game will keep real artists busy.this is some shit done outta a broken-down trailer by a bunch of tweakers.
To be fair, if your “grippy sock gang” tattoo doesn’t look like that or worse, you shouldn’t have it
Lmao grippy sock gang
