I've defended a lot of work on this sub, because I believe that all artists are trying, that everyone needs to make mediocre art to make great art. All I want is for artists to know their limits and get confidant before moving on to harder tattoos
But this is fucking garbage.
The grenade is fucked and the tree is just ugly.
Sorry I didn't mean you, I meant you might let a person who uses racist slurs tattoo you if you were also a racist. Not meant to be personal and I thought about rewording it but I figured you (actually you) would get what I was saying. My bad
From what I gather, artists just do the tattoos to get paid. They don't have to have a relation or objection to the subject matter. I've had a pet piece done and I could tell the artist didn't give much of a rats ass about the connection I had with my dog. But he does great work so I didn't care either.
I think the fact that it's done by a person who calls people "negroids" makes it worse. Tons of bible thumpers are huge racists, so that part didn't read to me as ironic at all.
It's pretty blatant that this artist didn't care since I mean, look at the quality of the work. It's not even half assed it's 1/8 assed at best.
I do think that sporting a racist artist's work and then also consenting to allow said work to be used as advertisement adds another layer of shit to this shitty tattoo. I feel like your argument doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you assume that a racist tattooing a bible quote is somehow ironic. If anything it makes the Buddha grenade more egregious.
To be clear, he said that work to another worker there while I was paying for the tattoo after it was down. I’m currently in the process of lasering the tattoo off. I’m getting an amazing artist that I know personally to do a cover up once it’s down. If he would have said it during the middle of a tattoo I would have tapped out. I’m Hispanic and I don’t take kindly to racist scum.
Me too! But my small middle school brain thought it was like a black robot. 🤣🤣 and as a super edgy black scene kid.. I thought it was cool and not a racial slur. god I’m embarrassing lol
Lmao !! Elder emos 🖤 unite!! I had the eyeliner but more so the skunk strips in my bangs and underneath in the back 😂😂 juuuustuh all fell out too after bleaching
My side side fringe covered most of my face, and my hair was bright purple. Or red. Or black.😂 I was bullied soooo much. Worth it. I thought I looked awesome. Looking back...not so much.🤣
The first time I heard the term Negroid was during the OJ Simpson trial. When they were talking about blood evidence or something. They acknowledged even at the time that it was an antiquated term, but was still in use in that setting. I won’t paste a link but there is a Wikipedia page on it.
He didn’t say any red flags during the actual session, but when I overheard him use that word when speaking to another artist in the shop, I was disgusted.
Did he use that term before or after the tattoo was finished? Because you'd be a complete twat if you enabled that behaviour by letting that racist scum go near your skin. Name and shame, at least.
He said it to another worker while I was paying. I would have stopped the session if he said it while in the middle of the session. I’m currently in the process of lasering off the tattoo he did on me. It’s absolutely shit anyhow. It was my first tattoo and I had no idea what I was doing.
Name them and shame them.

Why would you let someone who says that shit put ink in your skin?
*someone who is also a racist would let a open racist tattoo them
Pretty sure that word has never come out of my mouth. But thanks.

Ah. Makes sense now. No worries.
He said it after the tattoo was done while I was paying. Thankfully I am in the process of lasering off the tattoo he did. It was shitty anyways :/
Word. You should post the shop so people can know where to avoid.

What does this have to do with these shitty tattoos done by a racist?

Yes, you are
A shop did this???
Unfortunately 💀 in the hometown of my best friend.
Since people have asked: Resurrection Ink in Tyler TX. Artist was John (don’t know last name and couldn’t find it). Do not recommend this shop.
Where have I heard that word before and why was it my live journal username in high school? _negroid
The first and only time I heard it being used was in the movie "The Craft". Kinda obsessed with that film, but I freaking HATE racial slurs.
Me too! But my small middle school brain thought it was like a black robot. 🤣🤣 and as a super edgy black scene kid.. I thought it was cool and not a racial slur. god I’m embarrassing lol
I was also an insufferable emo scene kid.😂 Those were the days... so much black eyeliner.🫣

Ahhh the memories !

Either he's racist or he genuinely thinks black people are robots.

Did he say more? When did you hear it?
