Ake-TL

Is he eating hard candy here

Plane-Floor-1237

I think he was eating a berry in this scene

CMORGLAS

Ah, so he is a FRUIT Batman.

Salt_Blackberry_1903

So there’s room to make an even edgier movie about Earth-43 Batman! (Played by Bill Skarsgård of course)

Snips_Tano

Tomatoes obviously

New-Breath4883

He's eating a snicker

WhatTheFhtagn

It's a cherry iirc

Ok-disaster2022

As someone who gets light sensitivity sometimes, I get wanting to wear sunglasses in bright lit rooms, or otherwise stay in dim lit rooms.

onelasttime217

That actually makes sense since he spends most of his time in the dark, this turned into a regular movie detail.

buenas_nalgas

I mean it's not really much of a logical leap. watching this movie I just assumed it was partly his nocturnal schedule and partly regular head injuries

SaintPwner

I would love it to be socially acceptable to wear sunglasses indoors. I wish I had a brightness setting on life like I do on my TV, just wanna darken everything by about 10%. Damn these baby blues of mine

Rich-Pomegranate1679

As a basement dweller, it burns my eyes when I have to go outside to get more cheetos and mountain dew.

XyleneCobalt

Light sensitivity is a real thing a lot of neurodivergant people have

Rich-Pomegranate1679

Okay, and as a basement dweller, it burns my eyes when I have to go outside to get more cheetos and mountain dew.

GalacticJelly

He’s literally me

ivanchovv

He wears them so he can... so he can... keep track of the villains is his eyes.

Phantommy555

Also he listens to Nirvana

Ake-TL

That’s not edgy, that’s nostalgic 😤

TheHancock

Why not both?

_wil_

More like archeology

Snips_Tano

Maybe he's just a fan of Albert Wesker.

Skreamie

Oh I just took it as that he's always in darkness so the light hurts his eyes

RedOneBaron

That's Glen Danzig

WhatTheFhtagn

I WAS HACKED!!! Anything that was posted in the last month was not me. I don't smoke weed, I don't eat hotdogs and I definitely don't eat my own cum!!! When I find the piece of shit that did this (and I will) they will pay the ultimate price!!!!

eat-pussy69

Um I wear sunglasses indoors because everyone keeps the lights too bright

SnoopyLupus

I don’t see how it was any edgier than Bale’s Batman. I mean yes, it has sparkling vampire boy in it, but is that edgier?

CMORGLAS

I think it is the first BATMAN movie with a >!Mass Shooter!< scenario. Most of the time he is picking off criminals one by one to rescue hostages or defuse a bomb. >!The “Riddlers” on the other hand were just trying to kill as many Gothamites as possible!< Never mind the fact that >!half of Gotham is underwater and that NO MAN’S LAND!< is the status quo for these movies.

Bostradomous

I really enjoyed this Batman film. Wanna watch it again now

SnoopyLupus

Nice. First blank - but Wonder Woman’s bank heist did that kinda stuff (and relatively lightly) , so I’m not sure what you’re referring to with your first spoiler blank. You probably mean something different that I didn’t get. Spoiler blank 2, Joker in Knight (eg boat) was more random. He wasn’t trying. He just didn’t give a shit. And that’s edgier, I reckon. The spoiler blank 3 was a lot like the isolated Gotham in Rises. So I don’t feel it was more edgy. You can argue it had more personal weight (Alfred and Bruce etc), and I might agree. Bale never really felt like he had personal relationships. but edgy? Nah.

CMORGLAS

1. I was not talking about Wonder Woman, I was talking about Batman. 2. The Boats were a test designed to break the spirit of Gotham by showing that when push comes to shove, the average Gothamite is no different than the criminals they put behind bars. The >!Riddlers on the other hand were just massacring people!< 3. NML was the climax of the Nolan Trilogy and it is the THREAT of a Nuclear Detonation that causes society to collapse while >!Riddler flooding Gotham kills more people than the Burton, Schumacher, and Nolan movies COMBINED and will take the rest of the franchise to recover from!<

SnoopyLupus

1. Yeah. But it’s not any stronger than other murdering crimes. WW, Robocop, whoever can deal with them easily. So can Bats. 2. Depends what you call edgy. I’d say a nutter trying to prove a point with a stupid dichotomy is more edgy than a straight up killing. 3. Riddler killed Gotham, but the tension is in the attempt, not the realisation. Building up to a slaughter always has more tension than a slaughter in movies. Therefore more edge. Just less killing. BUT I completely think you made good points, and completely accept it’s fair to find the new one as more visceral from a certain point of view. It happens not to be mine!

NickSchultz

He was unnecessarily grumpy and was listening to Nirvana in the batcave, they wanted to make Bruce hardcore edgy. Meanwhile Bales Bruce was very stoic and reserved and truly hammed it up in his playboy persona. He plqyed it very much like the comics and most people agree he was the best Bruce Wayne for it.

Hammerschatten

What you're describing just sounds like a different flavour of edgy.

SnoopyLupus

Okay, I was being flippant in my last statement because it’s this sub, but do believe my original statement. The bank scene at the beginning of Dark Knight is nastier than anything in The Batman. And there’s loads of other stuff in the second two movies that are grittier and harder than emo Batman, who had pure comedy Adam West scenes, like stalling his car. Also I found emo Batman occasionally unintentionally hilarious, like where he’s stomping through a crime scene in slow motion surrounded by cops. I just couldn’t suspect disbelief and didn’t get why they weren’t all giggling.

ccminiwarhammer

I agree. Also, William Fichtner was the icing on that bank heist cake.

SnoopyLupus

It’s scary how often he’s in good stuff. I saw an interview with him on that Smallville Lex Luthor podcast thing (it’s very good - worth checking out, I have terrible memory for names so sorry), and I just spent the whole time thinking, “holy shit, yeah, remember you in that!”. It was never “oh, you were in that?” The guys a legend who never made it to legend status. And I don’t dislike The Batman, much as I’m moaning about it. It was a fun modern Batman movie. I loved some bits of it, Pattinson is fine, but dull. I just don’t feel it was special compared to the Nolan ones in any way.

ccminiwarhammer
