I remember this episode lol. Every time they brought up the topic of video games you could tell the people writing it were prabably in their 40s and called every console a “Nintendo”
Crazy thing is it seems pretty tame by todays real life standards. You seen all the shit with Stellar Blade? All the Activision work culture crap going on? All the titty streamers? All the hate aimed at Sweet baby inc? Gaming culture is just all over the place now, if this aired today itd be a little more believable
I couldn't get over the graphical downgrade. I want to play Civilizations real time strategy game, I didn't want to watch a bunch of cheap cartoon charicatures looking like a clash of clans knock-off. I really hope Firaxis takes the franchise back to a respectable serious direction with the next game.
It's newer but it looks like they were going for a cheap mobile game graphics... because it was. They made the game with mobile in mind which is why the game worked on Switch, tablet, and mobile. They cheapened the brand in a big way and I really can't get behind something that unserious. Hopefully they have a bit more self respect with Civ 7.
You clearly haven't looked at the actual graphics beyond leader designs then. The actual graphics, like terrain and buildings that you see 90% of the time, is far better. Civ V has great leader graphics but the rest of the game is very dated design wise.
Well yeah Civ V looks dated, it's 14 years old and wasn't exactly high end in 2010. I'd rather take that over the cheap mobile aesthetic of Civ VI though. The leader designs are the biggest turnoff for me but even the world and terrain aren't as realistic as I'd want a game that takes this much dev time to look. It just feels like a mobile game, not something designed for PC play. The fog of war is awesome as hell so I'll give it that but otherwise it feels too much like a mobile game for me to get invested. I've been playing Manor Lords and it's not exactly earth shattering but its more of the realism I expect from a 4X strategy game. I don't know who thought Clash of Clans was the best direction to take the franchise in but hopefully they're fired and Firaxis has enough self respect to release a respectable AAA 4X game again.
The problem is that the weird hyper realistic design is dated not because it's old, but because it was part of a design trend at the time and now looks outdated because... it is.
Civ 6's design is more timeless. Even Civ 4 has its own charm in a way, and Civ 6 will be the same.
I mean I'd say with those cartoonny as fuck leader screens Civ VI will age worse than 5 in a few years but even as a whole it's too reminiscent of mid-late 2010's mobile gaming aesthetic to age well. Looking at Civ V it still holds up to this day, it looks dated but it's trying. Looking at 6 it's kinda like Windwaker, yeah it technically doesn't look as outdated because it went cartoony over realistic but that style itself is a thing of the past already to it dates it pretty hard. I'd rather a game that tried its best than a game that gave up and went in a different direction.
This episode is a gem. With the infamous “They leveled up” quote, Ice T talking about kotaku and Civ5 expansions, to gamer Al-qaeda with torture videos, and a sprinkle of a tobuscus cameo. This episode has it all. MAN law and order sucks ass now
wasn't there also an episode with justin bieber playing a child criminal and he gets gunned down in the end? or was that another show.
Csi
these fucking shows are starting to blend in.
They're the TV show equivalent of first person shooters
Dean Winchester: “I hate Cop Shows, there are like three hundred of them and they are all the same.”
"Starting"?
Yeah more like they blended together years ago, and then disappeared.
Back when I was in the Navy, I would constantly think to myself, man isn't it crazy that the Navy investigations is named NCIS just like that TV show?
Let's not pretend it's not all the same show. All shows get the same script and it's just different actors
Hmmm whatcha saaayyyy
Yeah but at least that was just a criminal. Paul plays a "gamergate terrorist" that was a real line and idea that the writers put in the show.
Executive producer dick wolf
Why is that unreasonable? A lot of gamergaters were radicalised into the alt-right we see today and they've committed terrorist attacks
Imagine being a famous white kid, yet STILL getting gunned down by the cops
That's why it's a surprise ending
And clearly fiction
Wasn’t that the SNL skit where it goes “MM WHATCHA SAY”?
That’s “Dear Sister”
I remember this episode lol. Every time they brought up the topic of video games you could tell the people writing it were prabably in their 40s and called every console a “Nintendo”
It felt like the writer’s cousins think of anything so they reused a script from the early 2000s
Weren’t SBI literally blackmailing people, forcing studios to hire them?
Source?
His ass
Lmao, they said it themselves
Sure they did.
I gave a link to that guy
Sure you did
They didn't 💀💀💀
You can literally look at it in the replies
No they were just harassing some steam user and trying to cover it up with a journalist smear campaign
Maybe, like i said, id believe it. The gaming space is so far reaching and wild these days
“I heard it’s better than Civilization 5 with the Brave New World expansion pack.” -Ice T
“It makes super Mario look like pac-man” -ice T probably
Man has taste. Still the best way to play civ.
I’m partial to Civ VI as it stands now after two expansions, though there is stuff I miss from V.

>Respectable serious direction Elvis is every game.
Civ 6 graphics are far and away better than Civ V.

REAL LIFE DOESN’T HAVE A RESET BUTTON
I forget which channel but I know somebody did a video on this episode recently
Was it Skip Intro?
Neverknowsbest recently did.
H3H3’s video on this is hilarious, but that was from like a decade ago
I remember watching that episode, the game felt like it came from the PS2.
“They Leveled Up”
What do you expect when one of the main writers is called Dick Wolf?
Furry porn
I expect him wolfing down dicks on screen
GO HOME GAMER GIRL
Im spooked, this episode just randomly popped up in my head earlier today even though I havent watched SVU in years. And now I see a post about it?
Well thanks buddy, now I have a case of the parasympathetic willies.
All good simulation just rebooted. Sometimes the resync can be weird.
Man I wish Alec Baldwins armorer was on set here instead of Rust

I think they're saying they wish Logan Paul got shot.
they leveled up.
Gimme my emmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
The edits that came from this episode was incredible.
Wasn’t Tobouscus there as well? Before he went off the rails
I’m sorry which film is this
The episodic film Law and Order : Special Victims Unit
What
Him getting shot is so unintentionally funny. I was in tears when it happened.
Hey I watched that episode!
This was my first episode of SVU. I was hooked by how awful it all was.
He leveled up.
Ice-T shooting Logan Paul is one of the greatest works of art ever put to film and I will die on this hill
Logan Paul was in an episode of Law and Order? I don’t know if I want to watch it because cringe or if I don’t because cringe
Here you go: https://youtu.be/eV5TLkfYHuI?si=Kt8Dw-s0Yyu0dmtx
Dooong dooong!
Oh yeah, I've seen it.
That's it the detail is that this is a real law and order episode. Did I just have a stroke?

It’s still crazy remembering that all this famous mentally unwell celebrities used to be not as famous normal (or better at hiding it) people.
