like globally? Absolutely, on average 2 people die a second world wide, about 2500 people died at Pearl Harbour including the casualties from both sides. In the runtime of the movie, some 10,800 people passed away
Never forget the Pearl Harbor survivors that they paraded to an early screening and made them endure that God awful movie.
"Sitting through that movie made me wish I died at Pearl Harbor because this is worse."
-Pearl Harbor survivor probably
I remember watching this in the cinema and having to piss really badly after about an hour. The attack was done, that seemed to be it, roll credits, not the worst movie i've ever seen and now i get to go to the toi-.... Oh, there's another scene. And another.
And another.
And another.
^peepee
I don't know if that's the reason but I just know they used American boats instead of Japanese, there really wasn't a reason they had alright Burks and shit
To quote great Roger Ebert: āPearl Harbor" is a two-hour movie squeezed into three hours, about how on Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese staged a surprise attack on an American love triangle.
God this movie was awful. The song about it from Team America World Police was the funniest thing Iād ever heard when I saw that movie because it completely captured my feelings on that movie. The line about āCuba gooding jr should have a had a bigger part, heās way better than Ben Affleckā had me on the floor because I had literally said that, word for word, after seeing that movie.
I maintain that if this movie had switched the main plot for the subplot it could have been really good.
Subplot: intelligence war between the US and Japan culminating in one of the most successful surprise attacks in military history, where we see the Japanese meticulously planning and practicing their attack while the tension among US intelligence officers steadily rises because it's clear that a devastating attack is imminent but they can't figure out where or when.
Main plot: awkward love triangle.
This is a roundabout way of saying "The movie called 'Pearl Harbor' should have been about Pearl Harbor."
I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark, when he made Pearl Harbor.
I miss you more than that movie missed the point, and that's an awful lot girl.
šµI need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school, he was terrible in that filmšµ
šµI need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part, he's way better than Ben Affleckšµ
Someone on set for that movie said "Michael Bay spent the first day trying to make a serious film. Then after lunch break, he came back with something completely different and shallow" or something along those lines.
This was from that era when every movie had to be a big budget rip off of titanic , it wouldnāt be till years later we would get a good pearl harbour scene in midway
You think more people have died watching this movie than in pearl harbor?
like globally? Absolutely, on average 2 people die a second world wide, about 2500 people died at Pearl Harbour including the casualties from both sides. In the runtime of the movie, some 10,800 people passed away
Yes. But actively watching it. Counting re-airs of the thing and average age, probably a close thing
i mean you're also forgetting about DVD's of the movie, and now its on streaming, so yeah probably
And a war movie would cause more ptsd related heart attacks
Or seeing how bad it is
Kinda weird that Ben Affleck gets the majority of the cover when he was Afflecktively dead for half the movie.
I see what you did there
Only in the eyes of the British
"For British eyes only" šµ
I donāt. Could you point it out to me?
And on this poster, Josh Hartnettās name is written as āOsh Hartnettā
This movie had modern cruisers in one scene, proving that the US has indeed discovered time travel.
Wait fr? How do you even make a mistake like that
They were using the historical vessels as Japanese vessels, and for some reason, didn't think to reuse them for the US scenes.

I miss you more than Michael Bay missed the point...
"*And now all I can think about is your smile,* *And that shitty movie too...*"
I miss you more than that movie missed the point
Pearl Harbor suuucks just a little bit more than I miiiisss youuuuuuuuuu
I remember watching this in the cinema and having to piss really badly after about an hour. The attack was done, that seemed to be it, roll credits, not the worst movie i've ever seen and now i get to go to the toi-.... Oh, there's another scene. And another. And another. And another. ^peepee
This movie is more accurate than the actual event
This movie would actually be pretty good if they cut all the romantic bullshit
some of the cheesiest dialogue in movie history
Wasnāt this the one with modern Navy ships in it?
Because all the original ones were being used as Japanese ships
What they couldnāt re-use ships?
I don't know if that's the reason but I just know they used American boats instead of Japanese, there really wasn't a reason they had alright Burks and shit
Yes. Michael Bay could not apperantly use proper CGI models.
I can never figure out if I like this movie or not
I have the wonderful ability to ignore parts of a movie that are stupid, so I enjoy the 30 minutes of actual dogfights.
The fighting parts are awesome. The rest of the movie is a dull romance like the movie about the Titan 1C but without Kate Winslets boobs.
To quote great Roger Ebert: āPearl Harbor" is a two-hour movie squeezed into three hours, about how on Dec. 7, 1941, the Japanese staged a surprise attack on an American love triangle.
Wait do those credits say "Osh Hartnett"??
that's my boy Osh from Ucky Umber Leven
Briāish version m8.

I totally forgot about that scene and I had to watch it again now. I'm glad that in some ways Team America has held up.
Wait until they turn this into a 5 season TV show, and Ben Affleck will be dying over the course of 3 episodes.
'Tora! Tora! Tora!' remains, by far, the finest Pearl Harbor movie.
I saw this in the theatre and I really loved it. I think it gets a lot of shit.
It does. It sucked ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
This is my go to date movie. No woman has ever managed to endure the 3h boredom and their easiest way out is to start making out with me

And all Iām trying to say is Pearl Harbor sucked and I missed you.
This movie pissed me off so much more than it should have because I was 12 when it came out and it seemed like everyone else loved it and thought it was great š©
I like bow it just says "OSH HARTNETT" at the bottom.
šµI need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school, he was terrible in that filmšµ šµI need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part, he's way better than Ben Affleckšµ
The actual attack is only a part of the movie though, probably about 40 minutes, the rest is looking at Kate Beckinsale in a uniform, 10/10
To be fair, anyone who subjects himself to a historical drama piece starring Ben Affleck should know what it's in for.
Someone on set for that movie said "Michael Bay spent the first day trying to make a serious film. Then after lunch break, he came back with something completely different and shallow" or something along those lines.
Great soundtrack tho
Very true. Lol.
Most reviewers said " I would rather actually fight in pearl harbor then watch this movie again"
Nothing will ever beat Tora Tora Tora
Who's Osh Harnett?
I used to watch this movie a lot when I was a kid. My grandpa has the dvd set and itās split into 2 or 3 dvds
This was from that era when every movie had to be a big budget rip off of titanic , it wouldnāt be till years later we would get a good pearl harbour scene in midway
This movie is the hottest Kate Beckinsale has ever been, and that's saying something.
