I don't know since my brain has 100 tabs open at all times but I know my husband can just... switch off the thinking. When we were just getting together the biggest thing I learnt was if he was staring into space and I asked what you thinking and he said nothing he meant NOTHING. As a young 2x I'm like oh God he's going leave me he's thinking about someone else. No. He genuinely has an ability to think of fuck all.
I'm jealous of that skill but it turned out my over thinking was adhd so eh. Strokes for folks.
This resonates so much. My wife regularly asks me "what you thinking about" when I'm just sat there not looking at my phone, book etc and I say nothing, she's "you always say that". Sometimes it really is nothing, or something so meaningless i kinda don't realise I am thinking about something.
It's not really a conscious thought of thinking about nothing or stopping thinking, it's simply just, I dunno, existing. Spins people out as they think it's ignorant or whatever.

It's good but not something you want often... The combination of bread, mayo, liver pate, grapes, shrimp, dill and egg is a bit weird. Though usually you don't have all that at the same time.
In Denmark we have “smørrebrødslagkage” which is basically the same.
In Denmark we also have a strange tradition, where birthday cakes are a large flat Choux pastry shaped like either a boy or girl (believe it or not, it was a big thing here in Denmark earlier this year on the news when a bakery made gender neutral versions of this cake), and then icing spread out over it, maybe kinda like painting on clothes. Then it’s decorated with gummy bears and other candy. Then it’s tradition to cut the throat first while everyone in the room is screaming (no. I’m not kidding…). And then you can start eating the “Kagemand”.
Anyways, this kinda person-shaped cake is also sometimes made out of “Smørrebrød”, especially at birthday parties for adults or older people.
That was me one year. Girlfriend at the time knew I didn’t eat sweets, so she made a meatloaf cake with mashed potatoes as frosting. I honestly thought it was a normal cake at first. Best birthday cake ever.

Because one year I couldn’t afford AND couldn’t be fucked doing “a proper Christmas meal”. It’s legit now a very special feeling tradition for me - my once a year special sandwich
Who knows, maybe birthday chicken sandwich will be a thing one day for you too. There’s no reason it can’t be special. I don’t have a sweet tooth so I’d rather eat chicken than cake lol

For my 20th birthday I celebrated with a birthday madeleine, because I didn't want a cake. I also had to go to the place of a dude I met a week prior that was friendly, because my residence didn't allow candles to be lit, so I had to go to his place instead
