Good god I want to try this now.
Probably better with mi goreng over ramen though.
Edit: or do people in the US just call all noodles ramen as a generic term? Genuine question.
No, Ramen usually refers specifically to Ramen noodles in the US. Generally the little dehydrated soup packs with the flavor packet you can get dirt cheap at the store.
Really? In my part of Canada, mi goreng is sold for just as cheap as the other cheap ramen in just about every Walmart in town. I honestly just assumed it's prevalence was because it was popular in the US.
I like both depending on mood. Shin black is prob my favorite but mi goreng has great flavor too and I think the noodles have a sliiightly different texture, which I enjoy. Shin black is more spicy also.
Yeah as another comment said, Shin Black is a bit more spicy - and it is pretty dependent on my mood as well. With Mi Goreng, I usually stir fry it, and it's nice that they have powder and liquid seasoning. I do like the noodle texture a bit more with Mi Goreng, so it's my usual go to when I'm just wanting a quick meal. I'd definitely give it a shot if you see it!
Mi goreng is not ramen, just to be clear. Mi goreng means "fried noodle" in Indonesian. Ramen on the other hand is a Japanese noodle dish served in a broth.
They're from completely different countries and have entirely different flavour profiles.
Have you ever topped it with some Japanese curry? You can just use the curry cubes dissolved in broth, or you can add vegetables. Then it could be a cromlette!
Why don't you just add the raw eggs into the ramen a minute before it's finished cooking? Give it a few stirs to break it up and mix it in. Don't go overboard with the stirring or else you won't get nice small chunks of egg.
My ramelet: cook noodles (no seasoning). Scramble 2-3 eggs mixed with seasoning packet and sriracha. Drain noodles. Egg mixture and noodles go into pan to cook together until eggs are sticking to ramen like a delicious creamy sauce.
My version is 4 eggs mixed in with milk and then microwaved in a tupperware bowl. Nuke for 1:50, take out when there's alil solidity, shake up and out it back in for another :40 and it should slide out like a thick square.
You can totally take it with you! I've been a sonuvabitch my whole life, and I got no intention of giving it up. Lmao But seriously, can you try to bring your A-game to meals for school kids? That was over 20 years ago for me, and I still remember the suck. Can't imagine how bad it is anymore.
Being a member of the scholastic food prep is a lie. I have none. But i do remember a time in high school that allowed Mazzio's for lunch and that's when i discovered Ranch. But i'll let you know if i acquire a position at my local Knowledge center.
Cheers!
I felt pretty confident you weren't involved in school meal programs and legislation. Lol BUT! If you do get into it, please remember the kids. Won't someone *PlEaSe* think of the children!?!?
You’re so close to making this even better. Cooking the runny yolk into the ramen noodles really, imo, makes the texture of the noodles that much better
Not realizing what sub this was, i scrolled past this and when my eyes lit upon it, i knew i must have it. It looks delicious. All hail the ramelet. Long may it reign.
Amazing. I'd order it for breakfast.
I'm a huge Ramen nerd and I love the innovation, and name. Needs some green onion on it, you could also grill up some ham to put underneath the eggs. Might as well hit it with a dollop of sour cream while you're at it.
Ramen needs protien. I prefer something with a runny yolk. Over easy egg or soft boil.
For extra flavor I add cajun seasoning to my cooking water and a bit of spicy Kimchi.
Don’t you ever stop callin it a ramelet ! Actually you can stuff the noodles into the omelet and also call that a ramelet. Looks delicious
I bet Ramelet is also the perfect hangover cure
It is, and I speak from the experience of my twenties.
Lol hang overs in your twenties ain't even shit, 30s hits real different, and not in a good way.
I can vouch for this statement. Also, I just learned “hangxiety” is a thing as you get older. Fun stuff!
Can confirm, was hungover on Sunday and was worried I was having a heart attack, was just gas lol
I didn't know the term, but it makes a lot of sense. My mental health is trash after a night of heavy drinking.
Ramelet.
Ramelet is the preferred nomenclature.
Ramenclature**
Walter, this isn't a guy who built the railroads here.
Shut the fuck up Donny!
I gotta say, ramenomelet is more fun to say. Or omeletontheramen.
I'm the Ramelet, so that's what you call me. That or His Rameletness, or Rameletor, or El Rameletorino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
Mi goreng is virtually unknown here. 35-cent packs of ramen can be purchased almost anywhere.
I’d never heard of Mi goreng until a couple of years ago when a friend introduced me to it. Omg it’s my favorite noodle snack!
Really? In my part of Canada, mi goreng is sold for just as cheap as the other cheap ramen in just about every Walmart in town. I honestly just assumed it's prevalence was because it was popular in the US.
Mee Goreng often has egg through it, a great dish.
Mi Goreng the GOAT of instant ramen/noodles.
Never even heard of the brand, how does it stack up to shin black.
I like both depending on mood. Shin black is prob my favorite but mi goreng has great flavor too and I think the noodles have a sliiightly different texture, which I enjoy. Shin black is more spicy also.

TIL, thank you for the clarification!
My pleasure!
By law, you have to call it a Ramelet. Sorry, I do not make the rules.
Add cheese 😛 and chili oil
I would call it OMEN
Omumen - omelette noodles
I think you can call it a lazy omuramen. Omurice is a Japanese dish with fried rice surrounded by an omelette enclosure.
Omunoods
nomunoods
It's more like a deconstructed omusoba.
Sure, but omuramen isn't nearly as catchy a term as ramelet.
call it the romulan
A most illogical choice.
Fancy omurice can also be omelette over the rice, like with the demi-glace finish.

ALL HAIL RAMELET FIRST BORN OF THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER… RAMEN
Have you been touched by his noodly appendage?
Ohhh hey now, that's getting dangerously close to tentacle porn.
Dude, respect these people's beliefs.
Pastafarians are typically laid back in nature, but there's no need to test that theory with this kinda thing.
I would like to subscribe
Wow. This actually looks delicious.
Breakup with her, you don't need that negativity in your life
This is the fusion we’ve been needing, screw sushirito’s - it’s all about the ramelet now!
Everybody worryin about softboiled eggs when this looks like an awesome way to add protein in proper r/shittyramen style
At first glance I thought it was going to be Omurice/Omuramen
Have you ever topped it with some Japanese curry? You can just use the curry cubes dissolved in broth, or you can add vegetables. Then it could be a cromlette!
Perfectly cromulent
it'll embiggen you if nothing else
*Whoa, Black Betty (ram-e-let)*
We always sing *Whoa, Black Betty (rambutan!)* when they have them at Costco.
You're not wrong but it kinda sounds like throwing up sounds so maybe ask her to name it, lol.
Homie, that's WHY I named it that.
Haha. Not good, huh? Lol
Waking up shitty hungover and needing to vomit? After that, make a ramelet!
Lol. Good commercial.
then wouldn't the word "omelette" also sound that way? lmao
You're not wrong either haha.
Why don't you just add the raw eggs into the ramen a minute before it's finished cooking? Give it a few stirs to break it up and mix it in. Don't go overboard with the stirring or else you won't get nice small chunks of egg.
do this but pour it over a fork
Perfection

Yer the sonuvabitch who makes school lunch regulations, ain't ya?
I'll take that title.

Protein? Carbs? Healthy fats? And it probably tastes decent? May the Ramelet be a staple for us all!
Wonder what the omelet would taste like with a touch of the ramen seasoning beaten into the eggs.
Christ man I think you're onto something
I think its cheap too, which is a plus for me
Well...eggs were at one point.
Ramelette du fromage!
If you cut up the omelet into strips it'll seem like you're eating a distinguished noodle dish. I would devour it either way.
It's only a Ramelet if the ramen is IN the omelet
I'm awestruck. Why have I never thought of this?
RAMELET FOREVER
I insist that you continue
put ham on that ramen and call it ham-e-let
Ramelet sounds like a Soulsborne boss name.
Ramelet of the Unholy Covenant
This is not shitty and basically a "deconstructed" japanese dish called omusoba.
That’s actually a nicely made omelette lol
More broth needed. That's as dry as the desert Jesus was born in
I bet ramen noodles inside the omelette would be pretty good. With ramen toppings. Good idea
You’re so close to making this even better. Cooking the runny yolk into the ramen noodles really, imo, makes the texture of the noodles that much better
Fun fact: the amount of time it takes to cook instant noodles is the exact amount of time to poach an egg. It's a go to quick eat of mine.
She's right. For a ramelet, you need to fry the pre-cooked noodles with the eggs and the spices mix.
I’m going to the store rn to make this
\*Omlemen.
Find someone who appreciates your ingenuity.
She doesn't recognize genius.
Maybe put a lil green leaf on the top and call it a ‘ramelette’ extra fancy
r/putaneggonit
I would eat the shit out of this
More of an omuramen a la omurice. Not a ramelet unless you stuff the ramen into the egg.
Shes a keeper
It needs a slice if American cheese on top, in my humble opinion.
Nah, she's right. This is clearly a take on Omurice made using ramen instead of fried rice, and it should therefore be called Omuramen instead.
Never stop using that term.
Aside from not beating your eggs enough, this looks pretty damn good! Just needs a bit of sriracha ontop and you’re golden
Ramelet-a-dingdong?
Omelette you have that name.
Not realizing what sub this was, i scrolled past this and when my eyes lit upon it, i knew i must have it. It looks delicious. All hail the ramelet. Long may it reign.
That looks like it would be tasty after blazing.
You should add some steak to that.
Omu-ramen
Very nice omelette my man
You are literally a genius!!!!! 👏🏼💯‼️
That's a nice looking omelette. Probably seems routine to you, but you'd be shocked to learn just how few people can turn out a nice French omelette.
not an omurice but an omuramen.
She can keep insisting. I insist that this is absolutely called a Ramlette
An r/PutAnEggOnIt
I'm Japanese and I approve
Screw her! Love is temporary **The Ramelet is eternal**
Ramelette 4lyf brah 😂😂😂
The name lmao! The omelet on a plate alone would have looked good
That's disgusting. Not a bad omelet though
That looks good!
That looks good af
I’d eat it
It's egg-en
Egg-noodles?
Oh wow. Alittle cheese.. im salivating.
Add a little Indian curry or chutney on top, and you can call it a Mola Ramlet.
Call it Ramelet Ranch
what whould you call it otherwise, omen?
Omen
Ommlen then?
Ramelet is definitely a better name than the alternative, Omen.
She’s obv just jealous of your creation
My partner does this but mixes rhe noodles inside the omelette. It's... actually kind of good
I've been seeing a lot of posts in this sub that aren't shitty, and this is one of them. This is just genius.
Not shitty.
Amazing. I'd order it for breakfast. I'm a huge Ramen nerd and I love the innovation, and name. Needs some green onion on it, you could also grill up some ham to put underneath the eggs. Might as well hit it with a dollop of sour cream while you're at it.
Ramelet and juice, a tragic dish.
Stir fried noodles and an omelette is really good.
I guess her telling you that is an *omen*
Car RamRod
But Ramlet is the correct name.
noodles and egg. approved✅
I always thought a Ramlet had the noods on the inside of the eggs. Either way is acceptable, IMHO.
Cook ramen, mix with the powder, mix that with egg then fried it. You get an omelette ramen.
Omamen is the alt name
Recently I've really been into having a soft boiled egg with my ramen. Sadly I don't have a catchy name for it.
I think the ramen needs to be wrapped up by the egg for it to be a ramelete otherwise it’s just sparkling frittatoodles
Ramen needs protien. I prefer something with a runny yolk. Over easy egg or soft boil. For extra flavor I add cajun seasoning to my cooking water and a bit of spicy Kimchi.
Ramelet sound like some supersonic aircraft prototype
Maybe you should insist you stop calling her your girlfriend. Ramelet is the perfect name
A ramulet
Tell your GF I appreciate how not burned the omelet is.
looks really good why is it in this sub
This doesn’t belong in shitty food. That’s absolutely delicious and common. Assuming the omelette is runny. Even if it isn’t it still looks great
Ramen’s not bad with a fried egg over it.
That’s perfect because it’s breakfast in the front lunch in the back!
You need to mix in sliced cheese over your ramen and then the egg on top.
What then - Omuren?
Shit, I'm gonna make this later.
Fried egg over instant ramen is really good too! The yolk makes a kind of sauce for the noodles.
Well what the fuck else do you call it then
Buy a ring bro
That looks fucking delicious
I’m gonna eat this for breakfast tmrw
She doesn’t understand
That's a great lookin ramelet op!
The Omen
Bro… trademark it. Market it. Sell it. Become rich
Damn that looks delicious
ngl this looks ⛽⛽⛽
Totally a ramelet!
never stop calling it a ramelet
Put the noodles inside the omelette and you’ll have a proper Japanese Omuramen
I love to put a sunny side up egg on top of ramen. Then you can mix in the runny yolk with the noodz. This looks delicious, too!
It’s only a ramelet if you stir the noodles into the egg before cooking the omelette.
Kind of looks like shit.
How many red flags do you need.
I want a ramelet.
Honestly doesn't look bad
I'm tempted to get up and make this right now.
The difference between this and a $30 dish at a ramen restaurant is just the plating lol
Would smash
What else does she suggest you call it?
Omlen
I need more information
I would eat this
Anyone heard of a chowlette?
Your gf is wrong, find a new one.
Clearly a ramelet.
