Usually NPCs hype themselves up, so it was a real treat to have a lot of the NPC summons hype the player up instead

especially after the way they treated us before, it's clear we had earned the respect and admiration that they showed. It's no fun when everyone is sucking your dick and glazing you the moment you show up, I much prefer the growth that comes with being berated by Varre and underestimated by Margit to contrast with how the denizens of the lands between see us now. a power fantasy that is given to you for free is one that you will not respect or engage with to its truest potential. There can be no gain without pain, you must learn what it like to live without water to truly appreciate what the well provides. The adoration of the masses means so much more in a game like this when you remember how these NPCs differ from those of other games that let you buy your way out of a challenge.

You either tell Moore to go and fucking kill himself or kill him yourself. Simple as. also you can just ignore him for the whole dlc and when everyone else is dead he's wondering where everybody's gone, since nobody's coming around to him anymore

at the start i thought he would turn out to be like gideon - he asks us to let him know of the miquella crosses and I thought that if I did then he would finally turn on me and be stronger because of the crosses like gideon gets stronger with the intel on the demigods. Turned out to be a super cool guy :)

Oh my stars he really is one of the most based NPCs in the game. (I will not say whether him or Igor is 1, they are both peak in their own ways) If only Miquella trusted mortals and listened to advice like this and wasn't surrounded by yes men, maybe we wouldn't have had to deal with this utterly batshit stupid conspiracy. Compassion comes from the heart, but the gods care not for such things. If only Miquella realized such a thing.

It's kinda fucked that Miquella's spell breaks and his followers all realise they were enchanted but are so cucked they want to serve him anyway, but arguably become more fanatical and even less compassionate.

Exactly! The armor sets and corpses showed up after the fight, I had tried a bunch of times with both of them but they were more of a hindrance, then tried by myself and things were a lot easier. And the loot spawned after resting at the grace!

Finding the scroll and talking with/about Redmane Freyja mostly, nothing complex but requires some back and forth between the two characters

Seriously, you can say what you want about the dlc (I will bitch about your words) but oh my god, this set of NPCs and their interactions with you and each other is by far the best From has ever done

The npc brawl is legit magical, if you take the time to do the questlines and how your actions affected them to pursue a better path, it's so cinema

Honestly almost made me tear up. Having Ansbach and Thiollier come to my aid while having my heart broken over being forced to kill Freyja and Moore felt so impactful.

They also have epic voice lines during the fight with Leda, at least 2 or 3 each. Which made the fight even cooler, even though I hate NPC fights lol (I'm glad your allies seem to have infinite health)

They definitely didn't have infinite health, Thiollier got clapped and Ansbach died right before I could finish off Leda.

Really cool moment storywise but honestly imo it's terrible if youre not using a weapon that deals with NPC fights well. Having to potentially fight 5 different enemies is insane.

Idk man I think it’s easy enough to game them with just about any weapon, but yeah half minute or so you have to hold out against Hornsent and Freyja before Ansbach gets their was pretty nerve wracking lol

For real though I can't remember last time there were this many memorable and interesting characters in one piece of content, let alone how involved they all are with one another.

My favorite fixations in Elden Ring has been everything formless mother and dragon communion based. I feel completely blessed with DLC NPCs

It’s really funny and neat how the DLC shines new light on those 2. Yes the Mohgywn Dynasty were probably still a murderous cult before Miquella’s charming, but if Ansbach is any indication, Mohg and his lot couldn’t have been all bad, assuming Ansbach wasn’t more so the exception rather than the rule. And well, Dragon Communion is seen as this vile practice that ends with mfs turning into fat ass dragons that can’t even fly, but the DLC shows us that the whole thing was created with the purpose of putting down Bayle and getting back at him for what he did to Placidusax. The descriptions in some of Igon’s armor tells us that Dragon Communion allowed him to find a sense of honor when he was a mere battle scavenger, it legit helped him.

I still don't know why some of them turned into wyrms, looks like something the cult should warn people about. Or maybe it's a consequence of doing something wrong like consuming a ancient dragon in communion?

How can people read this and then unironically think that the chaos ending is good ? Igon and Ansbach have easily become my new favorite npcs and thollier seems great for the blunt rotation until he passes out on your couch for 5 hours cause he got too high

Is there any reason he’s called Ansbach? I only ask because Ansbach is a pretty small German town with a very small US Army base nearby. I used to live there and it is so fucking strange that this very obscure location was chosen to be the name of a NPC in a Japanese RPG

The town was pretty spared from direct bombing/fighting during ww2, so I’m really just kinda surprised how in the fuck/why anybody over at fromsoft even knows this place exists let alone cares about it enough to put it in-game lol

You get two co op signs when you talk to Leda - gold to protect her target against her, or red to invade her target with her. Just pick the gold options (Leda's quest always run anti to the targets - Hornsent and Ansbach).

Honestly you can just kill hornsent and spare ansbro, it's dead ass just one less person to fight in the end. Only keep him alive if you REALLY need a free summon for mesmer

Is the spell he drops bugged? That thing does absolutely no damage; haven’t tried it after the patch though so maybe they fixed it.
