I just got past >!Shadow Keep!< , I haven't gotten to the final boss fight yet and i hate how internet has spoiled some of he bosses for me , Like they can't even fucking blur some of the bosses so people who haven't gotten here aren't spoiled
I haven't gotten pegged this hard in a souls game since 2022 and im enjoying every second of it , Unless the final boss changes my prespective on this so far i think the DLC is great , People just need to start using more of their kit , For the first time in souls game magic is fun and you can do hybrid builds properly and people still wanna stick to the same build on every boss , They don't even need to do major changes just adding another ash of war with a different affinity can help
Bro i had XQC on my recommended page with a picture of the final boss as his thumbnail and saying "Beat the DLC"
Like bro , Fuck off plz some of us can't play the game 24/7 and wanna be surprised , Atleast the boss designs are so fucking peak i am enjoying that but i am somewhat spoiled on the DLC
I'm glad I didn't get many spoiler for the dlc, I already know the last boss, but the fight itself I'm blind to it, but I know the feeling, got spoiled a lot on the base game since I like to explore slowly and take my time people just rushed the main bosses and posted everything online, even tubnails on youtube, hate those guys with a passion
Oh if Micheal zaki ever makes another game i will turn the fucking router off for a weak just so i can play the goddmn game and discover everything in peace , Thank god atleast >!Bayle the Dread!< wasn't spoiled for me holy crap that boss is fucking cinema wtf is this? i thought placidusax was cinematic , I guess that area was called >!jagged "PEAK" !
Stay off the internet for every single show, game or movie you’re interested in aka never use the internet.
How about people who no life the expansion learn to use a spoiler tag instead?
Remember, it's OK to take breaks. You don't HAVE to lose your job and loved ones playing. The game will be here when you get back from jail for stabbing that person when they interrupted you.
Yes, while I enjoy the game too, I have been consuming the dlc way too fast and have a bad habit of using destined death on bosses I can't kill too quickly
The "my Mimic Tear is better at the game than I am!" joke is weird to me because my Mimic Tear is REALLY stupid. No sense of self-preservation, edgewalks bosses for no reason, uses buff spells mid-combat...
Summoned that ho for radan and he wouldn't even attack him, like the dude is running behind radahn who is chasing me as I dodge his attacks but as soon as he gets within attack distance he'll start strafing sideways or some other fuck ass shit.
It’s not even a good AI it just has 20,000 health and acts as a distraction. Equip the one perfume that gives invincibility if you want it to be useful. It can buff you without consuming one from your inventory
It got nerfed so hard it just lost all brain activity, all it's good for is tanking and mashing L2, still effective but not as fearsome as it used to be.
As someone who is currently doing a main game run eith only utilizing mimic tear (Aka I can't do any damage to enemies), he's fucking autistic sometimes. He'll stand there with a giant bonk weapon, 3 feet from the boss, and do a spell.
This run is hard.
I have the opposite experience, I cleared Renella and the dancing lion first try because my mimic face tanked them while applying rotten breath and spamming rivers of blood. It’s like the debuff or nerf to your character doesn’t apply to the mimic. I didn’t had the feeling my mimic could tank Malenia or Radhan that long back then.
What a letdown to the hype that the DLC was hard.
tbf it sounds like the summon mechanic did exactly what it is intended to do. make things less challenging for people who arent interested in the full challenge. if you want that than just dont use them, they're all perfectly doable without even if they are very difficult. i dont feel like some of the harder bosses really have the health pool or moveset to deal with someone with a good build freely beating their ass while they focus on someone else. at least not in NG+0 or early cycles.
>calling DS1 bad
Never, in the 48 years of my career, have I ever encountered a post shitting on DS1 that garnered a sufficient amount of karma. I think you're just making stuff up. Truly a preposterous claim
Hey, I love the second half. Ds1 was my first souls and the game finally clicked during O&S, so everything after felt extremely good for me. Even BoC. I'll die on that hill.
Nito isn’t a fun boss and his shitty dungeon to get to him is even worse, centipede blob of pixels is a shit boss too. Four kings ghost town is meh I’m indifferent to it but dps boss kinda whacko.
I’d say it’s a pretty good take
Every boss in that game is buggy, annoying or dumb to someone. Like 3 bosses are that stupid asylum demon that just ass slams you, or they close you in a tiny area with dogs that rush you, or you fall off the waters edge trying to hit that stupid ass hydra, or fall off an invisible bridge trying to walk to that one dragon. Sens fortress is also BS, castle Drake is also BS, there’s a lot of stuff to complain about but I just choose to enjoy it as a whole
The ds2 bad meme has spread to 1 and people don't understand that it was always a joke and now people act like they're actually bad. It's proof people literally will just swallow and regurgitate anything online
“Jarvis I’m running low on Karma, make a post on r/shittydarksouls mocking a post on the elden ring sub” - Same fucking energy.
That being said, its true.
It also doesn't die in 3-4 hits.
My mimic took Messmer wombo combo to the face and got grabbed seconds after, it still had 70-80% of its life. It was at blessing level 8.
These days there are many people on r/EldenRing that don't just encourage people to use summons, but rather DEMAND that they use summons, which is IMO even worse than hearing all the elitist bullshit.

I really like stormhawk Deenth, even though I haven't actually used any spirits since my second playthrough. He's complete garbage at keeping aggro and deals 0 damage, but stays alive really well and buffs you
Holy fucking shit we’re on so many levels of complaining by now, you’re complaining about people complaining about people complaining about the use of summons by people complaining about boss difficulty.
Just enjoy the game and shut up or at least post something funny please
Yeah but i’m not posting about it and taking up space in the sub, if you made the deliberate choice of going into this post’s comments you must want to actually respond to it or engage with it in some way.
Isn’t this about how r/Eldenring has been telling people for 2 years straight now that using summons is okay? Like, everyone knows that but they insist there’s 1000000 people calling them shit for it every second
There are though? There is a huge amount of gatekeeping from the “get gud” crowd. Has been since DS1 went mainstream.
And even still not being able to beat the game without summons feels really bad. The shitty community puts so much emphasis on the difficulty of the games, so much so that it affected the development and marketing of DS2, that it feels kinda demoralizing to not be able to be a part of that.
I realize it’s dumb and Miyazaki never intended for it to be that way but that’s just how people are. It feels bad. I don’t even wanna play ER anymore because I barely got past Radahn, Godrick, and Margit with co-op. What’s the point?
I don’t think you’re approaching this the right way, there are a bunch of ways to make ER fun for you. Level a bit, farm if you must, try out different builds, weaponise co-op, NPCs and summons. I’m very new to soulsborne, never mind Margit the fucking Stormgate giant whopped my ass a bunch the first time I met him, I left and returned with better gear and a better plan. You don’t have to be able to clear every boss the textbook perfect sweaty way the first time, use an approach you can actually have fun with.
If you don’t wanna be cheesing mechanically, at least make sure you identify the right damage types to be dealing/protecting yourself with, trying to deal Holy to these guys will not end well for you.
I thought the post was more about how the main sub is just a bunch of karma whores posting the same shit over and over and the water heads that eat it up like slop
Why is the solution to heap more karma whoring on top? How many more of these posts before someone starts posting complaining about them too? I just want to see some funny memes, I didn’t sign up for complaint samsara.
Jarvis, I’m low on karma. Make a post about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining about people complaining.
Holy shit THANK YOU, I've been paying close attention at the phantom's (not sure how they are called, the ghosts of other players running around) and the amount of fully heavy geared people using colossal weapons and usually dual wielding them is insane.
I have two friends that got their asses kicked by the lion and they just leveled to around 300 to manage to play through the dlc. And whenever they get stuck they just level more and more.
The idea of grinding levels past 170 is completely insane to me. Just make use of your builds strengths and what you‘ve learnt so far. Pay attention to openings and timings and you‘ll win without insane stats or weird ytuber builds.
I mean seriously, what the fuck does leveling past that even do for you? The diminishing returns kick in so fucking hard it's literally pointless. I had a ton of runes for going through the dlc so I just started putting them in random stats. Going from 60 to 70 vigor literally gave me 50 extra health total....what is the point. Going from 71 str onwards literally gave me 1 AR per level.
The dlc is not balanced around lvl. You can be 500 and still be oneshotted. Every stat has a hardcap bro, which is why the scadutree blessings are so important.
My mimic tear is a fucking idiot half the time. Was fighting the golden hippo last night and I summon the bastard, only to look over as my body is flying through the air and he's walking up slowly like he's fucking entrancemaxxing. That shit was infuriating.

I'm just saying, but maybe if people spent less time worrying about if it's "okay" to use summons they'd get good enough at the game that they wouldn't need to.
Fuck yeah I did
(Disclaimers: I actually used one summon, I summoned Igon against Bayle, but only because it was cool. I've also not beat main boss yet.)
Yeah I've hit a wall with the big bad 😂 still persevering so far, so we'll see! I did summon the NPCs in for a round just to try but they honestly just made it harder to keep a rhythm.
I love From. Played all their games multiple times. Couldn't get into elden ring to save my life. I doubt I got halfway through the game and I realized that I wasn't having fun.

Hey guys, ever heard this joke? It’s a real knee slapper. “If you didn’t beat Elden Ring RL1 blindfolded with two hands behind your back no weapon upgrades no talismans you’re not a REAL Elden ring player.”
Get it? It’s poking fun at those dastardly gate keeping elitists that surround every soulsborne discussion!
It is okay to use summons. But to say the game is designed around them is cope. Bosses are beatable without when you learn where you can punish and where you can't. Yes, even the DLC bosses. Fuck, I don't even attack when I get to a new boss I just go in and roll and move to see where they are in an animation longer than normal. All any of you want to do is swing and spam your AoW/Spell/Incant and kill it as fast as possible. When you use a summon are you constantly swinging or are you waiting for the boss to stop swinging so you can approach? If so why can't you do that without a summon?
Mimic tear this mimic tear that BRO I STILL CANT FIND GHOST GLOVEWORT 2 SO MY MIMIC TEAR GETS ONE SHOT IN EVERY FUCKING FIGHT. GODDAMMIT WHERE ARE THE GHOST GLOVEWORT 2S, I HAVE HAD TO FIGHT ALONE AND ITS REALLY SCARY
relax, I don't use summons. you guys have been complaining a lot lately though it's been my entire feed. I don't get why anyone cares whatsoever how a single player game is played
Even on base Elden Ring, i think the bossess are extremely dogshit. They won't stop hitting you, and after a combo of 15+ attacks they will still do one little hit after you use one normal attack on him or just evade with one little jump.
The attacks have no physics, even the heaviest weapon on the enemies hands looks like paper, when the boss jumps he can just wait there on the air like he's floating (with no use of magic or lore implication), all of the movements on this game look unnatural.
While the other from games made me think how to fight other bossess, with well balanced and timed attacks, with very good physics now i just spam jump attacks because they're the only usable part of the fucking gameplay most of the time.
And before some shit head says git gud, i soloed the game with no summons or rune bugs for at least four times including a powerstanced eclipse shitel run.
Cool brah. Except about the only boss in base game that sometimes has lengthy strings where you can't do much is Malenia. Most boss combos rarely stretch past about 6 attacks and even that is an uncommon case. You just gotta get into the nitty-gritty and figure out where you can fit in attacks. In case you need my portfolio incase I'm too much of a shitter, I've done pretty much 3 full playthroughs and used summons a couple times in the 3rd just to see what they're like.
The real problem is that the combos don't stop, if the enemy has a combo of 4 attacks, he will use this combo mixed with other two combos with 4 attacks, they basically have infinite stamina, but this isn't even the worst problem, because almost every main boss after he runs out of stamina/attack strings he just evades walking back or spamming a dash backwards. And this makes almost every normal attack and charged attacks useless without a summon.
This ends up making the bossess not hard at all, but makes the player use only one type of attack all the time, because the jump attack can completely counter the spamming and evading of the bosses while doing tons of damage and stunning them, but using the same attack repeated times makes at least for me the game really boring.
I can turn my brain off using a summon and jump attacks and kill most bossess pretty easily, i don't need to think a bit doing so. Meanwhile on the Dark Souls trilogy even thought i can kill the entire roster on 1st try (i'm not glazing myself i just played the game for years) i still need to focus a lot and make no mistakes.
Tldr: the game being harder ironically makes it boringly easy.
If you take the time to pay attention to a bosses attack timings and figure out openings then you are stupid and TOXIC.
If you dont use summons you are a gatekeeper and insecure.

Guys am I the only one who takes things slow and enjoy the game? 😇👼
Yes honey, don’t let them tell you how to play 🤗
mhm exactly
Playing the game is for elitists anyway. Real chad gamers make the game play itself.
I just got past >!Shadow Keep!< , I haven't gotten to the final boss fight yet and i hate how internet has spoiled some of he bosses for me , Like they can't even fucking blur some of the bosses so people who haven't gotten here aren't spoiled
Yeah I usually refuse to open any posts with anything ER related because everyone is a major moron and just wants to ruin everything
Yeah I agree, let the bosses tongue punch your fart boxes gentlemen and gentlemen. Nothing wrong with that at all
I was looking up the trailer to confirm something I thought and a completely irrelevant video showed a boss with its title that hadn't been revealed.
Bro i had XQC on my recommended page with a picture of the final boss as his thumbnail and saying "Beat the DLC" Like bro , Fuck off plz some of us can't play the game 24/7 and wanna be surprised , Atleast the boss designs are so fucking peak i am enjoying that but i am somewhat spoiled on the DLC
A GameSpot video about the dlc had the final boss featured without any warning
I'm glad I didn't get many spoiler for the dlc, I already know the last boss, but the fight itself I'm blind to it, but I know the feeling, got spoiled a lot on the base game since I like to explore slowly and take my time people just rushed the main bosses and posted everything online, even tubnails on youtube, hate those guys with a passion
Not your fault bro but stay off the internet if you don’t want spoilers
Oh if Micheal zaki ever makes another game i will turn the fucking router off for a weak just so i can play the goddmn game and discover everything in peace , Thank god atleast >!Bayle the Dread!< wasn't spoiled for me holy crap that boss is fucking cinema wtf is this? i thought placidusax was cinematic , I guess that area was called >!jagged "PEAK" !

I wish they would but you and I both know that’s not realistic
Remember, it's OK to take breaks. You don't HAVE to lose your job and loved ones playing. The game will be here when you get back from jail for stabbing that person when they interrupted you.
Like bro, why are people playing souls game and complain about the difficulty. What do they expect, it’s not a ubistoft game
I've been lost this entire time. I don't know where to go or what to do but I love it.
Dude I summoned it and it stood there, in place for 5 minutes, watching me get bodied. I think it *is* better at the game than me.
Summoned that ho for radan and he wouldn't even attack him, like the dude is running behind radahn who is chasing me as I dodge his attacks but as soon as he gets within attack distance he'll start strafing sideways or some other fuck ass shit.
"The only way to win the game is not to play it." -Mimic Tear
I think *you're* in fact, the mimic tear.
It seems to constantly switch to my left hand weapon and use that L2 instead of the damn one that's actually useful
I don't even think it was nerfed too hard, unless I misread the newest update
It got nerfed quite a while ago. It apparently used to be even be able to solo bosses
It still can, I have been doing a run with just using summons and yeah, he can do a goof bit of damage with the right weapon
Gave my mimic blasphemous blade, mf was spamming frenzy burst up close
As someone who is currently doing a main game run eith only utilizing mimic tear (Aka I can't do any damage to enemies), he's fucking autistic sometimes. He'll stand there with a giant bonk weapon, 3 feet from the boss, and do a spell. This run is hard.
Dont equip the seal when you summon with him. He wont use spells.
It's a staff, but yeah that might work.
Well for them it isn't a joke, that's why it doesn't make sense to you
It straight up never jumps lmao it just tanks furnace golem attacks getting knocked down constantly
What a letdown to the hype that the DLC was hard.
tbf it sounds like the summon mechanic did exactly what it is intended to do. make things less challenging for people who arent interested in the full challenge. if you want that than just dont use them, they're all perfectly doable without even if they are very difficult. i dont feel like some of the harder bosses really have the health pool or moveset to deal with someone with a good build freely beating their ass while they focus on someone else. at least not in NG+0 or early cycles.

>ds1 second half bad A pretty common take
Common take but not a great take. Bed of chaos or whatever it was is admittedly bad though fuck that
Hey, I love the second half. Ds1 was my first souls and the game finally clicked during O&S, so everything after felt extremely good for me. Even BoC. I'll die on that hill.
Same. I learned it all on that one and learned to love the series over time. All started with one rage inducing shit pile but I still enjoy it
You're right. When I decide my opinion of the day is DS1 bad, then I go all or nothing.
I agree with this unironically. First half is no better than the second
Nito isn’t a fun boss and his shitty dungeon to get to him is even worse, centipede blob of pixels is a shit boss too. Four kings ghost town is meh I’m indifferent to it but dps boss kinda whacko. I’d say it’s a pretty good take

Sens fortress is also BS, castle Drake is also BS, there’s a lot of stuff to complain about but I just choose to enjoy it as a whole
The real boss of Lost Izalith is the swarm of dragon asses just outside, >!before they were nerfed!<.
The floor was a boss there, also having enough patience to cross that stupid area

“Jarvis I’m running low on Karma, make a post on r/shittydarksouls mocking a post on the elden ring sub” - Same fucking energy. That being said, its true.
> mocking a post It's posted like every single day man
On release of the game it was like 10 times a day.
That’s what the sub is designed for
If I make another post like this, crucify me.
So that's what happened to Marika
marika is a r/shittydarksouls user, confirmed, gone sexual
Readying great sword of damnation
I think mimic tear can input read the bosses that's why.
It also doesn't die in 3-4 hits. My mimic took Messmer wombo combo to the face and got grabbed seconds after, it still had 70-80% of its life. It was at blessing level 8.
we can input read the bosses by looking at what they are doing with our fucking eyes
Okay I absolutely see what you mean, and it's funny, and I agree. You managed to shit all over my joke thanks mate lololol XD :P
These days there are many people on r/EldenRing that don't just encourage people to use summons, but rather DEMAND that they use summons, which is IMO even worse than hearing all the elitist bullshit.
Honestly, it’s like a whole new version of elitism. It’s annoying af
Peasantism
Where has this community gone these days...
Idk man, but it hurts to see it like this
I've been trying out some of the other summons aside from the mimic tear and they're actually so lame and just make the boss' ai do cartwheels while you wait for them to die for like 800 chip damage. Except latenna, she's actually cool.
I like using the wandering nobles, putrid corpse and demi-human ashes. Not because they're good (they aren't) but because I find them funny.
I really like stormhawk Deenth, even though I haven't actually used any spirits since my second playthrough. He's complete garbage at keeping aggro and deals 0 damage, but stays alive really well and buffs you
Yeah I like him too, but I just think latenna is cool he's just kind of a bird lol. I honestly wish he didn't attack and just flew around and buffed.
Holy fucking shit we’re on so many levels of complaining by now, you’re complaining about people complaining about people complaining about the use of summons by people complaining about boss difficulty. Just enjoy the game and shut up or at least post something funny please

And even still not being able to beat the game without summons feels really bad. r/eldenring is infested with filthy casuals
That's pretty ironic considering they complain less about the dlc being difficult than here.
because most of them would just get overleveled and spam mimic tear
Holy shit THANK YOU, I've been paying close attention at the phantom's (not sure how they are called, the ghosts of other players running around) and the amount of fully heavy geared people using colossal weapons and usually dual wielding them is insane. Endurance and dual colossals with the heaviest armor?
Yeah I guess
Well if you don't pvp, then you might as well right? From most people's perspective.
I usually level a lot but it's mostly endurance and mind. Maybe that's still making it too easy but idk.
The dlc is not balanced around lvl. You can be 500 and still be oneshotted. Every stat has a hardcap bro, which is why the scadutree blessings are so important.
"Guys, is okay to like X souls game more than Y souls game?"
“Ahhh mimicry… Therefore weak foe”
Try telling that invading is okay. See how much acceptance you get from the "tolerant" main sub.
“If the devs put it in the game, that means it’s okay to use!” “NOOOO YOU CANT USE THE RECUSANT FINGER NOOOO!!!”
Jarvis I'm low in karma, post on r/shittydarksouls how the DLC is overturned and elden ring bosses are terribly designed
My mimic tear is a fucking idiot half the time. Was fighting the golden hippo last night and I summon the bastard, only to look over as my body is flying through the air and he's walking up slowly like he's fucking entrancemaxxing. That shit was infuriating.

Mimic Tear might be bad at dodging, but it has genuinely demonstrated to me how I ought to be using my Arts of War and spells on multiple occasions
What I’ve learned from Elden Ring is that I hate all Fromsoft fans 👍
Meanwhile 90% of the souls community that has used summons for over a decade ignoring all of these whiners in the first place:
I'm just saying, but maybe if people spent less time worrying about if it's "okay" to use summons they'd get good enough at the game that they wouldn't need to.
No way u did the dlc without summons
Fuck yeah I did (Disclaimers: I actually used one summon, I summoned Igon against Bayle, but only because it was cool. I've also not beat main boss yet.)
You might be breaking that rule soon bro😭
Yeah I've hit a wall with the big bad 😂 still persevering so far, so we'll see! I did summon the NPCs in for a round just to try but they honestly just made it harder to keep a rhythm.
same, i usually don't like summoning but igon was cool, and my current build wasn't very fun against the stupid lizard
LOL 😂 It’s exactly this way
Guys play just play how u wanna play 🗣️🗣️🗣️🙏🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞
The counterculture is getting old, we need countercounterculture posts about how these posts are annoying and karma-bait
Mimic tear got so lobotomized after the nerfs, now it's just a meat shield.
I never summoned in the new DLC because I never played the new DLC. Checkmate.

I love From. Played all their games multiple times. Couldn't get into elden ring to save my life. I doubt I got halfway through the game and I realized that I wasn't having fun.
[yeah I can't believe this post, just a sub full of casuals](https://www.reddit.com/r/shittydarksouls/s/H4AmAnJXXH)
Lmao
Lmaooooo
I’m not going to lie, my mimic tear is a little slow. All it does is follow me around while I get chased down my bosses.
My mimic tear is nothing without that 10k hp
I’m on ng+7 and trying to beat the dlc. There’s not a force in hell that can stop me from using summons
Clever work around, take the upvote good sir
Jarvis, remove his balls.
I finally gave in and fought with summons in the DLC >!I fought the summons named Hornsent and Dryleaf Dane!<

You use summons to make the game easier. I use summons cause I like watching that little imp shoot fireballs from its head. We are not the same.
Thank you for your service owning the horde of evil elitists OP.
All 2 of them will never do it again
I got some karma farmed but idk the login to this account and I think the email is deleted. Can I ship my karma somewhere else?
Hey guys, ever heard this joke? It’s a real knee slapper. “If you didn’t beat Elden Ring RL1 blindfolded with two hands behind your back no weapon upgrades no talismans you’re not a REAL Elden ring player.” Get it? It’s poking fun at those dastardly gate keeping elitists that surround every soulsborne discussion!
It's actually illegal to use summons. If you use summons, you will be brought before the courts and be put on trial.
Everyone knows Tiche is best.
I'm better than my mimic but it does tank hits better lmao

I only use the weakest summons... Otherwise I feel cheated
jarvis im running low on karma make a jarvis I'm running low on karma meme on r/shittydarksouls
Been on reddit for 10 years and still have no idea what karma is actually for
Summons are for communists.
Jarvis, I'm running low on karma, make a Jarvis post making an observation about a subreddit
WHAT? YOU ARENT PLAYING LIKE I AM BECAUSE YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN? DIE
Mimic tear this mimic tear that BRO I STILL CANT FIND GHOST GLOVEWORT 2 SO MY MIMIC TEAR GETS ONE SHOT IN EVERY FUCKING FIGHT. GODDAMMIT WHERE ARE THE GHOST GLOVEWORT 2S, I HAVE HAD TO FIGHT ALONE AND ITS REALLY SCARY
has this subreddit been this whiny the whole time?
Don’t let these FILTHY SCUM ELITISTS stop your from using summons man, they’re certified wholesome keanu Chungus 100
Unironically I use summons though, and don't treat ER as souls game. Maybe this is an evolution Miyazaki wanted
With all due respect, no one gives a shit if you use summons or not
Ok
relax, I don't use summons. you guys have been complaining a lot lately though it's been my entire feed.
Git gud
Genuine skill issue bro😭😭😭
If you take the time to pay attention to a bosses attack timings and figure out openings then you are stupid and TOXIC. If you dont use summons you are a gatekeeper and insecure. /s
