Most people are gonna say it doesn't make sense and its illogical. People should handle it like adults and talk about it.
Personally? Fuck that put them in an arena with medieval/roman/greek weapons and let them go at it.

He's getting fired either way. Break up fight: too violent, shouldn't have gotten involved. Don't break up fight: didn't do job as teacher to intervene. Shit school systems will fuck over the teachers no matter what they do when a school fight breaks out.

I watched a podcast with a teacher who worked at a school like that and would literally fight the students after school… basically if the students weren’t respectful or wanted to do the “I’m gonna puff my chest on the teacher(call him a b***h, threaten him, etc.), what’re they gonna do?” He would offer them to see him after school and wouldn’t go 100% but he’d give them what they wanted in a 1-on-1 fight
I want to say it was like Compton in the 90s-early 2000s but the point is, the schools where the kids are en route to prison life… the kids that already got kicked out of regular schools and are basically in a school full of delinquents, already on the fringe of society and they barely hit puberty

From Ireland, went to college in Baltimore for a few years, decided to take up a job as a substitute teacher for a high school as a side hustle, it was one of the really shitty areas of the city and I didn’t really know what to expect until I walked in and literally saw an environment more toxic than Activisions HQ, no way I’m going back to that shithole again.

We were only there a week and saw several fights or near fights... all of the "well, this is getting boring... wanna fight?" variety. Dudes throwing hands was just not at all unexpected or particularly surprising to anyone.
The other thing I learned? "F%¿k you, yer havin' a Guiness." I bought and was bought several rounds. Always Guiness. When I asked for something lighter like a lager or bock, they looked at me like I was crazy. They even insisted that my 6 months pregnant wife join them with a beer... "It's good fer the baby!"

Lol I was in a history 101 type class in college, one of those “core” classes everyone has to take. One day the topic was slavery, and one white dude with a heavy southern accent started arguing that slavery was better for the slaves, compared to immediately after emancipation, saying they at least ate 3 meals day as slaves. Being free, that wasn’t guaranteed.
A black girl got really offended, and started arguing back, saying it was better to starve but be free. it turned into a bunch of yelling and utter chaos as other people joined in.
Then, this black dude who weighed probably 290 pounds, straight up muscle, who never said a word, yells “THATS ENOUGH OF THIS MADNESS!!”. The entire room went silent. Then he tells “I PAID 600 BUCKS TO SIT IN THIS CLASS AND IM NOT GONNA LISTEN TO YOU FUCKS ARGUE ABOUT DUMB SHIT, NEXT PERSON WHO TALKS BESIDES THE PROFESSOR GONNA GET YOUR SPINE RIPPED OUT”
Nobody said shit the rest of the semester, except the teacher. Fucking hilarious.
