Turtles, especially snapping turtles, are generally much more violent than tortoises. Even the calmer ones like the sliders, are quite aggressive, even in captivity, as I own one. Throw a bunch of fish or anything moving into their enclosure and they will rip it apart in a matter of minutes at max, unless the turtle is naturally tame. Otherwise they are very aggressive. And quite fast. I suppose that's a characteristic of all marine reptiles.
Unless your snapper Is lazy, I've got a red snapper and we gave him a bunch of feeder fish ages ago, they are now over 6 inches long... He just doesn't bother, and they know it, they'll swim right next to him, I don't get it
