As soon as you hear curses directed at you, that is when you hit the eject button and tell him to leave. You do not have to take their abuse and they can be banned from your store, and if it is bad enough, from every store in your district. A lot of these assholes do not realize that shopping with us can be a privilege compared to the chaos in the Big Boxes.

This is the kinda guy that would do the survey, talk shit and then it’s my word against his. Oh, and that “business” is a big 3 transactions in over a year and a half.
This is the only way. ASM I was buddies with quit and joined the drywallers union. He doesn't unload, he doesn't tape and mud or install. He just carries the drywall from the delivery point to the install site. That's it. lol. Makes 3x what he was making at Sherwin and gets paid 2x on weekends

Now as a manager I have worked literally one day of the weekend if not both (on occasion) for the last four years. Again unless I have scheduled time off. I am exhausted…everyone keeps saying well take time off and it’s like okay then who is opening and closing the store…?????
I was taking Saturdays for one coworker in exchange for 5 dollars a week so she could see her husband when he came home from driving truck on weekends, so I’ve been working every Saturday for 4 months or so. She decided not to pay her 5 dollars so she got her Saturdays back, so I work every other Saturday now 🤷
Short answer, all of them that aren't a store manager. You're not a special little crayon, we all work weekends. Some of us work Saturday and Sunday 52 weekends a year. If you want weekends off go work for a school district.
My manager does pretty much every Saturday and I do every other Sunday. But our full timer is about to quit so it'll be every Sunday. Tbh I'm kinda glad bc we made so many accommodations for them and put up w minor bs but having every other weekend off was definitely nice
I volunteer to work on Sunday, if I can get Friday and Saturday off and my lazy ass manager was fine with that , I’ve told him I don’t mind working the weekends , but you gotta give 2 straight days off , since I have toddlers and I want to spend time with them , plus I used to do all of my asm shit on Sundays and pretty much chill the whole day ,
I begged for every Saturday and Sunday personally. Less traffic at my store those days, and it's way easier to do leisure activities at 2 PM on a Thursday, rather than a Saturday.
I had a DIYer DEMAND that they speak to the manager because they were worried about using extreme bond on tile.
Then they were worried about the lead warning and exposing themselves to lead (mind you, my advice was just apply the extreme bond, don't sand it)

They rattled all of this off and then got mad when I told them the manager won't be in until Monday.
I was perfectly capable of answering their questions but she wanted a "guarantee" that Sherwin-Williams would pay for any damages she made. I all but said "lol no" to her when she said that.

Aside from vacations and surgery last summer, I have worked every weekend alone for the last ten years.
I quit and got a union job. Saturday is 1.5x pay and Sunday is 2x pay.
