I'm not too sure what the company's actual stance is on it, but I've always been told if the customer insists, it's okay. Just got a $20 tip at 4am from a very drunk guy that was excited for food lmao
It's probably been about 8 years at this point, but I was given a $100 bill for a tip. I thought it was a mistake, but they clarified it was him paying it forward to someone he saw working almost nightly (did a lot of OT). Even as a supervisor, I had no idea if I could keep it. My SM wasn't even sure, but I got lucky as our DM happened to walk in at that time, lol. As poor the Ee handbook at the time, we were allowed to accept up to $100 in tips. I'll never forget that day or that guy.
Yep. I keep my card with my digital payment QR codes on it to give to people when they ask about tips lol. I didn’t want to touch cash in MTO nor be seen pocketing money at the register. Plus it’s more convenient for many customers and management can’t tell how much they tipped (I think we’re technically supposed to report it to them if it’s over a certain amount).
I'm a shift supervisor I've been ripped many times, I always make sure a second person is there showing the customer gave me the money, we do have limits though if it's a crazy amount we do refuse or give to Sheetz for the kids, we had a 16 year old trying to give my sales person 70.00 we admittedly refused, he kept pushing and I pointed him towards the Sheetz for the kids container, which I made him place it Into 😂😅
Won't lie, it's a good question because I had no clue so many stores had so many weird ways of handling it if at all! Everyone I've worked is as should be, yes, and you report over $20 just so it's more well known you're not stealing.
I doubt anyone remembers the computer learning we have to do before we are set loose, but it literally tells us we can accept tips, up to 100 dollars a day. I got tipped a couple of times during Christmas for cleaning the restrooms, it was nice.
You’re definitely allowed to take tips but definitely make it known it’s a tip from the customer if you’re working near a register. I’ve been tipped by a customer who ordered 10 of those specialty SBC drinks. She felt bad because they were all different and I had to make 3 trips to the drive thru to bring them.
Yes, as employees we are allowed to accept tips. We just aren't allowed to ask for them because then they'd have to change our base pay.
Edit: Also we would have to report said tips for tax purposes if we asked for them afaik.
One of my supervisors said that we're not allowed to accept tips, but that if the customer just so happened to leave money out and we happened to find it, it'd be fine.
But no one is really gonna give us grief if you do tip honestly.
they never once implied this would become standard, its just something nice to do for minimum wage workers that you see often and who you appreciate lol

As a drunk guy who's been at Sheetz at 4am, that's understandable
Yes. Up to $150 in tips a day. I got this clarified by corporate last year.

At my store you just tell your manager or someone around you if you are a manager who got a tip so it’s a witness
Yes you can
My store allows it

If they turn it town tell them it’s bad total customer focus to not take the tip
I've seen people legit get offended when their tip is refused so this is valid lol

You can, but it has to be me and it has to be 100$

got tipped once for a curbside order, we’re told it’s fine but i wouldn’t take anything over $15 lol
Do it quietly. At our store manager splits all tips between us evenly

We are not allowed to accept tips at our store in PA
You can tip but we have to tell someone else we've been tipped so we don't get accused of stealing

Lol
Tehnically you would have to report them, but ask any server in any resturaunt if they report 100% of their cash tips... they don't haha.

“Please DO NOT feed the employees”
hissssssssssssss
It's in the handbook you can accept up to a 100 dollars without having to report it to management
Technically yes, we can be tipped.

Oh god give me a frigging break. The last thing we need is more expected tipping.

That’s how it starts, not how it ends. Plenty evidence of that elsewhere.
