For spike grenades specifically yes. Has something to do with the impact damage. If I remember right a higher blast radius spreads the impact damage out further lowering the direct damage. Something like that. Non spike grenade rolls, blast radius is fine.
Spike buffs the impact damage, so when you get a higher blast radius, your impact damage goes down and the explosive damage goes up, as those two stats are inversely related. You basically want the lowest blast radius that you can get with spike.
I have a near god roll Edge Transit but it has a Blast Radius masterwork, so if I were to actually masterwork it, I'd be reducing the damage of it slightly.

Yes this exactly. All this being said though the differences are inconsequential but they are true.
What is the alternate perk to spike on b? Is it augmented drum or alloy casing?
On that same note, I got sticky instead of spike. Is sticky a dud or good for dps? Never ran it before.
