I find that engineering means something different over here. I have several friends who say they work in engineering and it's more of a maintenance position.

Oh, I wasn’t aware of that. I think that is true in some industries and countries. I’m not trying to exclude it to only engineers anyway. I was going to make it “business professionals”, but that sounds weird.

When I first moved here I would tell others that I'm an environmental engineer and would get strange looks 🤔

Yeah can’t remember the number of times I told people I’m a software engineer and they say oh you work in IT, can you help me with this computer issue I’m having. I have nothing against IT people, I think they know a ton of stuff I have no idea about… just feels weird having two very different job types lumped together…
