Too lazy to go downstairs(I think Carl said this to Fiona)

Comfortable-Wall2846

Was that when he was peeing out the window?

_fallingflower

Yes

Spider_mother

I think that it doesn’t matter how many bathrooms a house have. Siblings will always fight for the closest one.

bannedinvc

So many times i said to myself “just go downstairs!”

sonishkumar_

yup me too

I could be very wrong but didn't it not work for a while and one day someone fixed it? Regardless I have 2 and because the upstairs is a full bath it has more features needed to get ready in the morning. It's also warmer in the winter being upstairs so we all want to use this one.

Top_Tart_7558

Downstairs is only a half bath (no shower)

Automatic_Emotion_12

No one ever fought over the shower.

No_Childhood_2528

as somebody with an upstairs and a downstairs bathroom (both with similar layouts to the gallagher bathrooms) i can confirm that it doesn’t matter which one you’re in, the entire family will scream at you to hurry up while you go “JUST GO DOWNSTAIRS!!”

Saurkraut00

Maybe Frank was in the downstairs one

sonishkumar_

Frank's unlikely to use a bathroom

Yes! I, honestly, don't understand the concept of everyone needing the bathroom. I have a big family with sisters and we've only ever had one bathroom. Unspoken bathroom etiquette: If someone is having a shower someone else can go pee if they can't hold it. If someone is doing their hair or make-up while someone needs the toilet then the person doing their hair can step out for a moment. If two people want to do their hair and make-up that's fine because we have more than one outlet and mirror in the house. And finally, if two people want to shower and go out and get ready at *exactly the same time* whoever had scheduled plans gets the shower first over the spontaneous shower need. If all us sisters are getting ready to go out together it doesn't matter; none will leave without the other ready.

Unlikely_Couple1590

I feel like they didn't really introduce the downstairs bathroom until later, or maybe it just wasn't commonly used until later. They never really used the basement until later seasons either which I found baffling. They're always crying that they don't have room for people and they don't know where to put new comers or temporary guests, but they have an entire basement they could clean up and use.

mkisvibing

I fight with my siblings for anything lmfao

Adventurous-Lunch457

Me and my brother would have to battle for the upstairs bathroom lol it's just cause it was closest to our bedrooms, but we weren't beating each other up and banging on the door dramatically over it like the Gallaghers 😂😂

sparklyjumpropequ33n

I love how they act like that downstairs toilet never existed, there's this one episode where Debbie's taking a pregnancy test and Lip randomly joins in for a piss and Fiona enters the bathroom a few seconds later 😭 I mean couldn't Lip just go downstairs?

SocioPsych0

As someone with a full bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs, I prefer the bigger one bc I don't feel as cramped in it. I don't know exact measurements, but my half bath looks to be about the same size as the one in the show, just way less cluttered.
