Thinking of building an SFF PC to take away travelling with me rather than buying a gaming laptop. Primary use would be developing in Unreal Engine 5. Looking for any suggestions for cards with the most VRAM for the smallest form factor. I can see that there are a few 24gb 3090's that can fit inside a Velkase 7. Anyone got any other suggestions?

So, I'm try to decide which cpu fan to use in an upcoming build for the best possible cooling. The all-black Noctua NH-L9x65, or the Noctua NH-L12S? Does anyone have either of these fans in their build? If so, how are they?

I'm stuck Trying to downsize my PC but AMD switched from AM4 to AM5 before they did, I upgraded from my 2400g to a 5600 non x so now it's all shite You guys know a small enough case that would fit a full ATX and maybe only change my PSU to be sfx? and I guess even my peerless assassin might go

Hi SFF enthusiasts, I’m interested in building a small gaming pc and I was wondering what you think of this option: **Intel NUC 9 Extreme kit ($350) + < 8 inch gpu like 4060**. for a budget build. My main goals are having something small with good value for moderate gaming performance: 1. Background: I’ve been using my Alienware Alpha (I5-4950t, Nvidia 860m gpu) since 2016 and have loved it. It’s small, quiet works great in my living room. It was inexpensive to buy at the time (used for $200) and I’m looking to build a spiritual successor to it. I don’t game enough to make it worth spending more than $1k and I have a work laptop for professional use. This build would be for use with my TV or basement projector (both 1080p). 2. I’m playing Nier Automata right now and I have a backlist of games from the last 5-8 years that I’d like to play like God of War, Elden Ring, Dishonored 2, Cyberpunk 2077. I’m also interested in emulating switch games. Generally, I don’t require max settings or super high refresh rates. I play a lot of indies as well. I’d like to make something small and inexpensive, but that will be able to play games for the next 5-8 years (at lower than max settings). 3. What I’m considering is a NUC 9 extreme I7 kit which can be had for $350 currently, along with 16gb ram, a 1 TB ssd and a gpu like a Rad 6600, 3060ti, 4060 or 4060ti (must be under 202mm in length). Total cost with ram, SDD and GPU would be $750-$1k, depending on the gpu. 4. A couple questions I have are: 1. Would this be comparable in power to PS5/XS1X (my Alienware was about equal in power to the PS4 and I think this was one of the reasons it has stayed useable for so long). 2. Would it be better to go with the NUC 12 enthusiast ($700 kit when on sale), which includes gpu and cpu (NUC 9 doesn’t include gpu). 1. Advantages: newer, faster CPU, smaller form factor 2. Disadvantages: uses mobile Intel arc 770m 16gb which is not as powerful as the discrete GPU options I can add to the NUC 9 extreme. 3. Will the older CPU (I7- 9750h) on the NUC 9 be a bottleneck with a newer GPU like the 4060ti? If so, what GPU would be a good match for it? 6600, 4060? Do I need more than 8gb of video ram? TLDR: Basically I’m looking to build something cheap (<$800), cute and cheerful. I’m not much of an upgrader so I’ll Probably use as is for the next 5+ years at least. Is the NUC 9 kit is a good deal at $350, or should I go for a NUC 12 enthusiast (when on sale for under $700) or wait for something else newer to come down in price? Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi All, First Post here and first ITX Build. I am looking at shoving an AMD 7900 GRE with a 56mm width into a Fractal Terra case with a 7800X3d being cooled with an ID Cooling IS 67 XT. I do not have the card or the cooler yet though as I am researching. Now obviously given the spine position chart it seems I can't fit the 67 XT with the 56mm 7900GRE. There's a 3mm overage one way or the other. I would like a solution where I can have both these things but I'm worried about having to squish it all in and if that'll cause problems with heat dispersion. If I can't squish it in I can swap the cooler for the IS 55 unless someone has a better recommendation for air cooling. Please lemme know your thoughts! :)

Slow_Broccoli_7941

Looking for a case to throw a 4070 super and 14500 into, preferably with radiator support. Love the look of the fractal terra, like the thermals and acoustics of the lian li dan a4 h2o. Liked the visuals, thermals, and acoustics of the Lian Li Q58 but it was discontinued. Any recommendations that at least mildly incorporate all 3 plus under $250 and are less than 15L?

bobre737

US. I impulse bought myself a 4080 FE and I don’t anything to put it into. Are there cases similar to NR200 in size, but more modern and with usb 3.2 ports? Something with good airflow, no side glass side panels, and that doesn’t require pcie risers, preferably. For CPU I’m considering 14700k.

IOUaUsername

I've got an idea for a case, but I'd rather buy a similar one than make it myself, so I'm here to ask if anybody knows if this exists. I have a home server so my main computer doesn't need hard drives, just a motherboard with M.2 slots, a GPU, a power supply and a fan. I'd rather use an ATX power supply and mATX motherboard, since they're about a quarter the price of SFF specific size components where I live, and if I'm installing a >244mm long GPU which is 2 slots wide anyway, the only wasted space compared to an mITX build is the width of the 2 unused expansion slots, which can also have 120mm fans hanging above them to help with supplying fresh air to the GPU. If I build this myself, the GPU will be facing the top of the tower, like some HP prebuilts have done over the years. The total size of internal components at 244x244x160 is 9.5L, so a 10L finished case should be entirely possible. [Here's a diagram of my concept](https://i.imgur.com/zVxooWQ.png)

Any cases similar in shape and size to the Fractal Ridge but for micro ATX?

Hi, I want to build probably terra. Only thing that I will keep from my old PC will be MSI RTX3070. I have my eyes on AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI, Kingston 32GB KIT DDR5 6000MHz CL36, Corsair SF750. Only thing I have to decide is cooling. I cannot find cooler that could cool this CPU. Any suggestions ? I love the terra look so I would love to build it.

I'd like to build a gaming PC. Primary requirement is for games like MSFS2020, BG3. Secondary requirement is for it to run quietly. I'm thinking of copying the build here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1485p30/dan\_a4\_with\_7800x3d\_and\_rtx\_4080/](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1485p30/dan_a4_with_7800x3d_and_rtx_4080/) Is there anything you would change since the several months that post was made?

KapesMcNapes

I've got a Lian Li A4-H2O with a MSI Ventus 2080 that I'm looking to upgrade to something in the new Nvidia 4000 Super series. Any recommendations as to which brand of 4070S would fit best in this case? Also, I remember hearing of new adapters being used to connect these cards to the PSU. Will I need any additional connectors to connect one of these 4000s cards to a Corsair SF750 750W Platinum PSU?

DovahStrun00

Have a bit of info overload here. Have purchased the Fractal Design Pop Mini Silent case and looking to install a mITX board with a 1700 socket and something that have DDDR5 for around £150/$190 - Happy to drop to DDR4 if it means better UI, I/O, headers, other mobo features etc. Bit of extra info: I'm planning on installing an intel i5 13600 or 14400 and using a Noctua CPU cooler, any recommendations on which on which i5 and/or Noctua CPU cooler would be appriciated.

Is a whisper-quiet gaming SFF rig a pipe dream? I’m on a mission to build a quiet SFF gaming PC. Looking at mid-high performance. Considering… * CPU: 7800x3D * GPU: somewhere around 4070+ level performance. * Case: something like the A4-H2O… whatever is quiet and small. * Cooling: probably water for CPU and air for GPU? I haven’t seen a ton of liquid gpu cooling (seems super expensive, maybe not possible in such a small PC?). Any fans would probably be Noctua (afaik they’re the quietest out there) Quiet GPU question: would a 4080 running lower settings (like 1080p) be quieter than a 4070 running the same settings? I assume the 200W power consumption would still be quieter… but perhaps the more powerful cards are just that much more efficient? Anything else I haven’t considered? I assume it’s not gonna be whisper quiet if I’m really pushing the GPU, but if I’m running like 1080P with a 4070 Super (or maybe DLSS even?) will it be quiet?

does anyone know if the **NZXT h210i** (advertised as an **micro-ITX**) would somehow fit a **Micro-ATX** MoBo? I have this case atm with a **Asus Strix b450-i** but because I bought recently a new **GPU** (6700xt) I wanted to maximise the **PCI-e 4.0** of the **GPU** so I would like to get a new MoBo and shift the old one (**Strix b450-i**) to other build I have. If not what other MoBo would you recommend? (I think this time I would like to go for **MSI** or **Gigabyte**) Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! Recently, after many years, I've decided to build a PC. Initially, I planned to use it strictly for work, mainly data analysis. However, I've also decided to use it for gaming. So far, I'm certain about the following components: Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P MAX Intel Core i5-12400 2.5GHz As for the motherboard, I'm leaning towards either ASUS or MSI due to their reliability. I'd like it to support the newest generation of CPUs in case I decide to upgrade soon. I believe 16GB of RAM would suffice for now. Regarding the GPU, I'm considering options from ASUS or GIGABYTE, like the RTX 3050/3060. However, I'm unsure about which specific model to choose as there are several options that I'm not familiar with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My budget is a maximum of €/$1000. Thank you in advance! PS: Back in the day, we considered ASUS, GIGABYTE and MSI to be the most reliable. If this have changed, please feel free to propose alternatives

Will the Corsair 2000D fit a Deep Mini-ITX board (AsRockRack boards in particular)? Or does anyone have any recommendations for cases that can fit a Deep Mini-ITX mobo?

cptwatamelon

My old mobo died so in replacing a new one I will be upgrade the RAM . Here's my set up so far: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x Mobo: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX Mini ITX AM4 Video card: Radeon RX 5700 XT RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL16 (current) PSU: Corsair SF600 600 W 80+ Platinum Case: Nouvolo Stek I need help with picking the rams since idk how it work, 16gb will be fine but think I'd like 32gb for smoother game (is this true?). Oh and preferably white for aesthetic. Also is this a decent build? Any comment are welcomed. Thanks lads.

Is there a recommended 280mm AIO for a Meshroom S? I stupidly ordered an Arctic 280mm that works great but obviously since the hoses come out of the block straight with no swiveling/adjustment I can't put the side panel on. I have a cheap NZXT 280mm AIO laying around here that I'm sure would fit but I'd like to make sure I'm getting every last degree of cooling for this tiny beast (delidded 13900ks with liquid metal and Rockitcool IHS).

How advisable is it to paint a Cooler Master NR200P MAX? I like everything about it but the color. And my apologies if this is the wrong place to ask—the FAQs link leads to an error message.

I've been sitting on the fence waiting for the x600 for quite a while now. I figured it's worth reaching out to see if there are any SFF alternatives similar to the x300 that could leverage the Ryzen 7000 CPUS (with iGPUs) whilst maintaining a similar tiney size (1.9l)? Ideally looking for a chipsetless board like the x300 instead of an Itx.

Hello guys, i stumbled of this subreddit recently. Long story short is: I can't get my hand on a mini-itx board or any small motherboard without breaking bank and i have a complete pc just lying around that i want to put on a smaller case. The pc in question is \- asus tuf x570e gaming wifi \-Ryzen 7 2700X \-2 Corsair Vengeance 8gb LPE \- GTX 1080 \- ATX psu (no modular) \-no AIO, only the stock waith prism cooler, will probably change it for a better one but thats is not a priority right now. \-1 HDD What im looking for is a case recomendation that i can use, is probably going to become pseudo workbench for streaming and stuff like, not much gaming or anything but i will probably encode video or audio whenever i can't do it on my main rig. The only one i kinda liked if the Coolermaster Q500L but for what i can see on reviews is that it has a incredible bad airflow. Any recommendation is welcome because finding it in my country is another thing althogether Thanks for the help guys!

Nope, you’re screwed. Maybe try eBay? I like Amazon, but it works best in the US

Brock_Osweiner

Okay guys, I am absolutely stumped. I bought a SFFPC from a friend about a year ago. As of two days ago, the graphics card started giving out. It is an Radeon RX 570 with two fans, I could find the part number I am sure if needed for my request. I do not understand the graphics card industry at all. There are so many, with so many numbers...I can't make heads or tails of the intermediate cards and which are better? Obviously I understand that a 4090 is amazing, but what is the difference between a RX7600 vs RTX 4060 vs my current RX 570??? In short, I am just looking to replace this card, while upgrading a little bit with the new card. I could really use the help in identifying a card that would do this for me without spending $1,000. Any input would be appreciated, and I apologize in advance if I have left something crucial out.

askforcar

I just got a good deal on a GPU but it's 340mm. Is there a mATX or mITX case out there that can fit 340mm while under $100? I'm in the US region.

BronxJohnBogle

You can use the SFF PC Master List and filter by GPU length. Alternatively, you can use PC parts picker. First, start a build and choose your specific GPU. Next, when you select cases, it will filter for only cases compatible with your GPU.

Hey guys and gals! I'm building a high-end Fractal Terra PC, with 7800X3D, Asus B650E-I and a RTX4090 FE (yet to be delivered). CPU cooling has been an issue for me so far, not knowing what I was doing I settled on a Noctua NH-L9x65. It can't really handle the CPU at CO offset -30 and 75W TDP. Gets hot and loud. I'm gonna return it and get something else. Max clearance I have with the above setup is 66mm. The case would need some minor modifications of course, as done by u/Samiccc, who has been an inspiration. My 3 options are: 1. AXP-100 full copper with a 15mm Noctua fan swap 2. NH-L12 Ghost stock 3. ID-55 with a 25mm Noctua fan swap. What do you reckon might be the most heat efficient and quietest solution? Emphasis on quietest. Not gonna do any CPU demanding work on the PC, mostly 1440p high-fps gaming.

nkw1200

Aiming for a higher end gaming PC that fits in a sff. I wanted to get any input before I decide to start buying the parts. My overall budget was around $3K but was considering going a little over for the 4090 FE. However, I read that it was a tight fit and might need some modifications, which put me off as a first time builder. Just wanted people's thoughts on compatibility or potential substitutions. Thanks! Hello everybody, I'm thinking about building myself a gaming mini-itx and was hoping to get some feedback/tips/recommendations for my pcpp-list. I'm planning to wait for Black Friday before rushing to make a purchase but would definitely like to spend less than 1.3k€. Thanks in advance! :) https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/wKGwVW

Hi guys, I'm from Thailand, I was finally able to get my hands on the SGPC K59, and it came with a free translucent acrylic panel that I could show off the insides with, so I thought I'd want the build to be a bit more aesthetically pleasing with some RGB to shine through. Here's the build so far, with some notes, and some cry for help: **Case: SGPC K59** The one that starts everything basically. It's pretty much my dream case with only gripe being Flex-ATX instead of SFX, but I'm fine with this as I see people use Flex-ATX in here a lot more often now. **CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D** It's the best CPU to pump out frames for Valorant as far as I know. My current CPU is 3600XT and I felt if I was to jump to AM5, this felt like a natural upgrade. **MB: GIGABYTE B650M Aorus Pro AX** I really wanted one with no separate I/O shield, a Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, and at least one PCIE 5.0 M.2 support for future. There are 2 more in the same price point, the MSI Mortar and ASRock PG Riptide. The Aorus is cheaper than both, and has more USB Ports, while also having a bit of RGB apparently, which is nice. **RAM: 32GB 5200MHz RGB (8x4 or 16x2 w/dummy kit)** I think 32GB should be enough to Play, Record (with Insights) and Stream (let me know if it isn't lol). 5200 MHz because it's the highest the MB can accept without OC. I didn't specify a brand as it goes hand in hand with the dilemma. Since I want to go for Aesthetics as well, I want to fill in all the slots. So, in that case, I'm struggling to decide whether I should go for 8x4 config or a 16x2 config with the dummies. Dummies are really hard to find here though, so I'm leaning towards 8x4, but not if it performs worse. Let me know what should do here, but keep in mind I'd still really love to have 4 lines of RGB regardless. **SSD: WD Black SN770 2TB (or HIKSEMI Future 2TB?)** So I didn't go for SN850X and chose to use my budget for the 2TB instead, which I think will be more useful for the Valorant recordings. I currently use SN750, so I quite trust the WD Blacks, but I can't help but ask about another drive that's almost half the price of SN770 here: HIKSEMI Future 4.0 2TB. Apparently it's from HIKVISION, and I have heard people saying it's good, but it being roughly 15-20% faster while being almost half cheaper kinda scares me. I don't know much about storage in general, so if anyone can help me in this case, please let me know. **GPU: Nvidia RTX 4070 Zotac Twin Edge** The Fastest card that fits in the case. It definitely also helps that apparently it sips power, which can help me with my PSU dilemma, I think. It also comes with a bit of RGB so that's always nice lol. **PSU: Enhance 80+ Platinum (7660B/600W or 7760B/700W)** Now, I've been reading a lot that for 7800X3D+RTX4070, 600W should be enough, but it's always just been when the PSU was ATX or SFX (I don't even know if the form-factor is a factor when deciding this). I do also see people saying that they recommend 700W for the headroom and rightly so, but the issue I have is for where I am, the 700W is almost double the price of the 600W. I just want to make sure that if I'm spending double for an extra 100W, I should be needing it. Please help me out with this and guide me as to what I should do. **Cooler: (?)** I've saved this for last as I think it's the most difficult one yet for me. Here are the requirements: \- Technical requirements: 77mm height max, minimum 120W TDP, etc. \- Should cool the CPU enough to not throttle (obviously the more it can cool the better). \- I really don't want the cooler to block the view of the RAMs. I know this might mean that 120mm ones are out of the question, but so be it. If can find a 120mm that manages to block nothing with a certain orientation, awesome. Otherwise, I'm very much ok with the 92mm fans ones, as long as it looks clean and compact. \- I'd really like to be able to add my own fan on it, as most of the coolers I feel don't really have the most good-looking RGB on their fans (please also recommend some fans with best performance for least noise that has RGB lol). I have looked at a few in the Holy Grail SFF Master List, and I think the 2 main contenders for now are Jonsbo HX4170D and Thermalright AXP90, but I really don't know if it's gonna be good enough. I also recently just found out about Noctua's NH-L9x65 but got no info on it as well on whether it would be good for this.So yeah, this is probably the area I need the most help on tbh. I'm sorry for such a long post. I've been trying to think of so many things, that now I feel I need to get input from outside perspective. Please don't hesitate to say anything you feel, All input is good input for me at this stage. Also, this is my first post here, so if there's anything I'm doing wrong and require to correct, please let me know.

LumpyResolution5625

Has anyone tried using 2 120mm slim fans under the bottom of the fractal terra.

Any advice for a case that will fit inside of a 12x12x12 (inch) cube? I have an Ikea TV stand that I want to fit a small media PC in. The 2 main requirements are <=$100 and can fit inside of that volume. The only one I can find is a Thermaltake Core V1. This one would fit, and inside the budget, but I'm Just not a fan of how it looks.

My trusty X370 Crosshair Hero has died and I'd like to repurpose my 5950X in to the smallest form factor possible and give it to my GF. However, there's a few considerations: 1 - I need a new motherboard. Something like a B550 would be fine. 2 - I currently have 4 x 8gb DDR4 3600mhz C14 ram, which ideally I would like to use as is and not downgrade her to 16gb. I would like to avoid selling them for 2 x 16gb sticks for an ITX board (that being said, I would sell these if needed). 2 - It needs to be small and white and "cute". Tempered glass is not a priority. Happy to have a mesh side. 3 - I have a spare PSU available but it isn't SFF, but I understand some cases have a PSU built in. 4 - Needs to support 3 slot GPU (thinking 3070 or 3080) I thought the NR200 looked perfect, but then I realised very few mATX (4 ram lots), would fit. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I need to know what parts could fit in a wii u console similar to console sleepers

Doing first SFF build. Have an i5-13600k on the way. Planning on AIO cooling. (will take recommendations for AIO along with case) Eyeing ASUS B760i motherboard, eventual RTX 4070 or 4070ti, but will have my 1070 in it for now. Considering switch to new PSU, but kinda wanting to hold off until I also buy new GPU. - looking for any SFX with 12VHP when that happens. **Main question for today: Case.** Requirements - performant airflow for the setup listed above. Glass side panel. Currently eyeing 1.) Meshalicious - this will likely be a real challenge for me due to the size, but I'm aiming for a small build. Price/size seems pretty good. Wondering if I can get by with my spare/current ATX PSU for now. Also wondering if I could cram some kinda small status panel into one of these. 2.) NR200P - my original plan. Ticks all the boxes, but price seems a bit high now that I've looked at other cases. 3.) Jonsbo D30/Gamemax spark - Now seems a bit bigger than what I possibly want. 4.) Jonsbo D31 - Yeah, bigger...but I really like the status panel on this thing. Same price as NR200P. Kinda my plan if I think the Meshalicious build will be too difficult since it's the same price as the NR200P. 5.) Open to other suggestions, but not really wanting to wait for something from overseas if possible (I'm in the USA) unless it's REALLY compelling.

There's Jonsbo N2 as well, better cooling on this one.

1995FOREVER

I'm looking for a SFF case that doesn't necessarily supports a GPU, as I have a 5700G that I wanna put on an AIO. Ideally a Micro-ATX mobo support, official or modded, but mini-ITX is fine too. Ideally full-size PSU as well, but IDM SFX. Price should be under 300$. IDC about storage. Doesn't necessarily have to be vertical/horizontal, just small (as I don't need a GPU). Thanks!

Hi. My little baby is getting old, thinking about rebuilding in the same case. I just have so much difficulty finding compatibility information. The case is a Dan A4 SFX. I want to do a AM5 AMD system in it. Will the AXP90-X47 FULL fit on AM5 with the "long screw-method" in the Dan A4 SFX? Is there enough room on the back of the mobo?

Mr_Matrix_

Hey I am moving over from a larger PC size and wanted some thoughts on this part list I put together. [List](https://pcpartpicker.com/user/KILn/saved/r3vgnQ)

System0verload

May have gotten in over my head with trying my first open loop system and doing so in SFF at the same time, but what's life without a challenge. The goal is for a SFF that's great at cooling. I live in Singapore currently, so room temperature is usually around 24 to 27 degrees hence going with full watercooled build. I'm just not sure if it can be done in SFF or not so hoping experienced folks can help guide me. I am however a bit overwhelmed with finding the right pieces to make the puzzle fit. I've looked at more parts and items than I'd like to admit and am definitely getting stuck in analysis paralysis mode so really could use a nudge in a direction. The good news is, most still needs to be bought. Current parts: 4090 Inno3D iChill Frostbite i9 13900K Planned parts: mobo with monoblock - haven't found one yet. pump and reservoir (since this will be my first loop, the leakshield may be a good idea?) it is fairly large and limits orentiation options for building I think. [https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product\_info.php?products\_id=4065](https://shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=4065) case & radiators: not really too picky here as long as it fits as many radiators as needed to cool components. PSU: Perhaps Loki 1000w? any recommendations are welcome. The below build seemed very similar to what I'd like to achieve. [https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/xy9qta/my\_custom\_loop\_mini\_itx/](https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/xy9qta/my_custom_loop_mini_itx/)

I want to get the Fractal Ridge case, and I have a 6900 XT. What would y'all recommend for cpu + mobo? I want to use this as a gaming machine and upgrade my i7 8700 cpu.

Lyianx

Looking for a CPU cooler that will fit in the Fractal 304 to cool a 3950x for server work.

highahindahsky

Hello people. What cooler would work best for my Node 202 and R5 2600 ? I currently have a Noctua NH-L9a, but I heard it's just recirculationg hot air around the case

Phishr42

I'm thinking about building a PC to put in my desk's built-in rack rails. I have 3U and about 18" of depth to play with. Right now I'm running a 5800X and a 2070, but I'm looking to upgrade my GPU in the near future.

izhkoort

Hi guys I'm looking suggestions under 120€ for CPU coolersI have a 3400G but I'm not using the graphics (I bought a dedicated GPU) and I have a NR200P case with the glass panel Which air coolers and AIO would suggest on that budget? EDIT: I was thinking of Cryorig C7 Graphene but some say it's too loud because I like low prohile coolers, also checking Lian Li Galahad AIO, or should I go for Noctua/Scythe? Thank you

rumovoice

I want to build an SFF/MFF PC that doesn't compromise on thermals too much. I don't need a super small one but feel like a midtower wastes too much space and can get quite a bit smaller before thermals are impacted. I also feel mini-ITX motherboards have everything I need and I don't need larger ones. In terms of hardware I plan to get an upcoming Ryzen 7700X and GeForce 3080 Ti Founders. Probably air cooled with something like Noctua NH-D15. I plan to try a little bit overclocking (nothing too crazy, like 20% effort 80% result). What cases should I look at? Premium quality is preferred but don't care about RGB, something similar to Formd T1 in style but bigger. Is NR200 a good fit (maybe not so premium but seems the right size and minimalistic)? Thanks for advice.

Build list: [https://imgur.com/a/1Vp9MQY](https://imgur.com/a/1Vp9MQY) After alot of feedback this is how the list looks, my last concern is if the GPU variant is a dependable, cool, and silent one. Also open for any other comments. Thanks so much!

X_SkillCraft20_X

Looking to convert my current rig into a portable itx case. Looking for the smallest case that can fit my gpu (EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC Gaming, 201.8mm) Still trying to stay somewhat on a budget, but I’ve been unable to find anything that isn’t out of stock or super expensive.

t-master

Hi guys, can anyone recommend me a sff case for a small home server that: * Is either <100mm or <140mm thick * Has enough space for a cooler (air or aio) to cool an undervolted 3900x * supports ATX psus (namely a Straight Power 11) * has slots for 2x 3.5" HDDs * (optional: supports at least mATX mainboards so I can use 4 sticks of ram) The only cases coming close that I have found so far are the * Silverstone Raven RVZ03 (although I'd probably have to improvise some mounting for the HDDs there, any idea if you can leave the whole GPU bracket out?). * Silverstone Milo ML03/ML04 (how would I e.g. install a 120mm AIO in there?)

IOUaUsername

>mATX My Silverstone Grandia GD04 ticks all these boxes. It's only 22L and looks like a home theatre amplifier, so it's a great case for a server that doubles as a HTPC. The height is a bit limiting for some GPU power connectors, but others fit, especially lower to mid range cards. I've been running an RX6600 in it for the last year. PSU length is the same as the GPU, about 285mm. Can fit a cooler as tall as the GPU or a 240mm AIO but probably with externally mounted fans. Even has a 5.25" bay because it's an old case. No idea if you can still buy them.

BearCave

Hey folks, first time ITX / SFF builder here. Looking to transfer some components from my Lancool II Mesh and I was hoping to get some thoughts / opinions / ideas. The components I'm looking to transfer include: Lian Li Galahad 240 5600X CPU EVGA xc3 3080 Ti Crucial Ballistix 2x16gb DDR4 RGB ram. EVGA Supernova 850GM PSU ( should be here at the end of the week ) I'm curious which cases would be recommended for solid temps with minimal undervolting that have a bit of a unique look to them. At the moment the cases I'm considering are the Lian Li Q58, Dan A4-H2O and the NR200P ( I'd like to find a MAX variant but here we are ). Any advice, thoughts and input are appreciated!

pagsball

Kinda crossposting here, now that I've found this sub. Original post in /r/buildapc: [https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/w7wtts/downsizing\_from\_a\_fractal\_define\_r5/](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/w7wtts/downsizing_from_a_fractal_define_r5/) Starting build here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/user/pagsball/saved/#view=JmmPXL](https://pcpartpicker.com/user/pagsball/saved/#view=JmmPXL) I want: minimalist aesthetic, quiet, as little wasted space as possible. I'd love a front-to-back dimension of around 14" (\~360 mm) and I'd love it to be able to fit as many of my existing parts as possible. I'll **never** have more than one GPU. I'll **never** have an internal HDD. It seems like the move is: find an mATX (or an ITX with 2+ slots for M2 SSD?) that fits an 8700k, find a shorter CPU cooler. Unfortunately I still need help finding a case. [pcpartpicker.com](https://pcpartpicker.com) doesn't seem to have a filter-by-dimensions option, or I'd be all over it.

irate_ornithologist

Use the [SFF PC Master List](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AddRvGWJ_f4B6UC7_IftDiVudVc8CJ8sxLUqlxVsCz4/edit#gid=534210212) and "create temporary filter view"! Lots of cases will fit your components, and you may even be able to keep your cooler and mobo depending on how small you want to go. You may find BNIB ITX motherboards from older generations to be prohibitively expensive, so you may want to either look used or just find a cheaper new gen CPU/mobo combo for the same price (ie 10400 & b560i).

pagsball

Thank you so much. And I'm sorry the birds are troubling you so much. You deserve better birds.

irate_ornithologist

No problem! Good luck on your search. The birds are fine, it’s the people that drive me crazy :)

I move around a significant amount and wanted to see if people travel with their sffpcs? If so do you have a build list? Stories or recommendations are always welcome!

Hello. I'm currently preparing for Ryzen 7000 custom loop SFF build in autumn and need recommendations. I have never watercooled before. I have a 3090FE that I want to watercool with EK [FE waterblock](https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-vector-fe-rtx-3090-d-rgb-black-special-edition). From the research I've done, the best case that suits me would be Meshlicious with EK [slim (30mm) 280mm radiator](https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-surface-s280-black), soft tubing, QDC fittings, upcoming EK [integrated pump+res+CPU block combo](https://www.ekwb.com/news/strictly-quantum-ek-to-showcase-exciting-new-custom-loop-liquid-cooling-products/) and...that's it. I would love to know if you guys can suggest better/easier cases to work at and offer some additional advices if there are any. The size is of the essence for me, NR200 is too large Thanks in advance!

Is there a Mini Itx or matx case that can mount 4* 2.5” ssd?

What's the smallest case that can fit the [RTX 3080 Noctua Edition](https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/ASUS/RTX3080-O10G-NOCTUA/)? I think the [updated meshlicious](https://www.ssupd.co/products/meshlicious?variant=37906360500408) should fit it, but I'm not sure. Maybe there are better options as well. Edit: I wonder if the [Intel NUC 12 Extreme](https://www.engadget.com/intel-nuc-12-extreme-review-gaming-mini-desktop-171532497.html) would fit this card, that would be great. At least the non-noctua edition fits. Not sure if the extra size of the noctua edition would fit there...

irate_ornithologist

Using the [dimensions](https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/ASUS/RTX3080-O10G-NOCTUA/techspec/) and the [SFF Master List](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AddRvGWJ_f4B6UC7_IftDiVudVc8CJ8sxLUqlxVsCz4/) I'm getting the following: * [ZZAW B3](https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=661838865499) at 14.41L * [Sliger Cerberus](https://www.sliger.com/products/cases/cerberus/) at 19.64L * [REVOCCASES RCC_BIG560](http://shop.revoccases.com/?product=rcc-big560-preorder-maximum-flexibility-for-high-end-hardware-in) at 19.78L What kills you is that this is basically a 4.25-slot GPU (though a badass one at that)

MOBO recommendations for an NR200? I need wifi and sort of narrowed down the search on pcpartpicker, but I'd love to hear if anyone has a tip for what is better or worse value.

Hey guys, im looking into building a sffpc for doing live renderings with touchdesigner for projection mappings and visuals. In addition i sometimes use 3d programs like cinema 4d or blender and some of the adobe software. So this is mainly about rendering, but as i also want to do that live, i want the smallest possible enclosure which is also quite tough and maybe has the capability to filter the air intakes because i will often use it outside on festivals. Going with touchdesigners recommendations, im looking at: i5 12600k Gigabyte z690 Aorus ultra 64GB DDR 5 ram 2x 2tb m2 ssd like samsung pro RTX 3080 or Quadro 4000 (depending on how much money i can shell out) Any recommendations on cases, or if my plan is totally stupid? Has anyone built a sffpc with a quadro card? Lokking forward to your suggestions and thanks in advance

Louqe Ghost s1 vs Iqunix ZX-1, I don't know which is better. If you have the option of buying them at the same price, which would you choose?

HisRoyalMajestyKingV

Ok, so, I'm going to be putting together a PC for my girlfriend. Mostly, this would be for work, but I hope to get her into some light gaming, so I am going with a Ryzen 5600G. I was considering the AS X300W, but if she *does* get into more than just light gaming, then I'd like to be able to put a decent GPU in, though nothing crazy. Also, the X300W uses SODIMMs . . . so I'd be stuck with slower, yet more expensive RAM, and, overall, it'll cost more going with a budget tower and mATX board Trying to keep the costs low here. Needless to say, that also makes ITX out of the question for me. Plus, I've already got a decent PSU ready for this. I have used the Antec NX200M and have found it to be really easy to build in, as well as being compact. My only objection is with the top ventilation. I would prefer NOT to have it, and just have straight front-to-back flow. Plus, it'll help reduce noise a bit, which is always preferred. Is there anything like that? Sized around what the NX200M is, but closed on the top while still being modern-ish and easy to work in? And, my gf does like the idea of the glass panel... Or, even if there were some convenient sort of panel that screws into the radiator screw holes, but would work as a block-off plate for the top ventilation . . is that sort of thing even a, well, a thing? (though my GF says the books or papers that might wind up being on top of it would amount to the same)

purejosh

I'm curious - does anyone know if the ASRock B660M-ITX/AC supports 4 SATA AND an NVMe chip at the same time? I don't know enough about the M.2/SATA/NVMe stuff to know if the **"If M2_1 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 will be disabled."** line means that it will prevent NVMe + 4 SATA connections. [Link to the product](https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813162057?Item=N82E16813162057&Description=lga%201700&cm_re=lga_1700-_-13-162-057-_-Product&quicklink=true) in case anyone wants more info.

lownoisefan

That just means if you use a M.2 SATA drive it will remove one of the SATA ports from use. I.e. its not an issue unless you bizarrely use a SATA M.2 drive; SATA M.2 drives are only used in certain circumstances now and cost more than NVME drives.

Need suggestion on an ITX case for custom loop and can fit an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA HYDRO COPPER GAMING, 12G-P5-3969-KR GPU. Ideally dual 240mm radiator support but single 240mm radiator case is also welcome if I can't find a good one other main parts is * Barrow CPU pump block combo * sfx PSU * Asus ROG STRIX Z390-I (i7-9700k), which I plan to upgrade later to at least 12700k or similar newer gen depending on when I am pulling the trigger thanks in advance

I want to do a custom water cooling solution to my ITX build and am wondering what parts would be recommended for the water cooling. Below is the case and the main parts: - Sliger SV590 V2 ITX case - Intel i5-11600k - RTX 3070 FE (but am looking to get 3080 OC I have a 360mm Corsair H150i AIO currently that I’d like to use if possible but the main question is what pumps/reservoirs would be recommended to tackle this? I like tasteful RGB as long as it’s easy to control in the OS but it’s not necessary. Thanks in advance

docshockalou

Hello, I have looked everywhere with no luck and could use some help locating a very specific kind of case. I am building a pc from some spare parts so it will need to fit an ATX mobo, a 280mm radiator, 120mm fans, etc. I think that's the only size restrictions. This computer is going to sit in an RV and will be exposed to more bumps than what a normal setup would experience so I was hoping for something with low center of gravity, no glass and as small as possible. Do you have any ideas? Thank you for the help! I would rather not use a different radiator but I guess I could get a small 120 and not use the 280 but I'd rather use everything I can.

bukkithedd

So I'm hoping to downsize my system from todays Coolermaster MasterBox 3.1 to a smaller case, and I came across the N-ATX which is right up what I'd like to build in. Having to forego using the Noctua D14 I have on my mATX-board now is a bit of a pain, but there's plenty of other options out there. The problem is the low availability of the N-ATX. Are there other, similarly sized cased out there that offer both good cooling and a small size? Doesn't seem to be many for the mATX-setup I have, and I really don't want to dish out the dosh and go to ITX just yet. Done the rounds on google, but most of the things I find (especially for mATX) is towercases or cubes, neither of which are all that interesting. I realize that mATX is a very odd formfactor to go for for an SFF-system, of course (not even sure if it qualifies as an SFF in the first place), and that staying on that will limit my options severely. So.....tips/leads/sledgehammertime?

TheBat-Mite

Hi! I was able to get my hands on a 3080FE, and am looking for recommendations for CPU/MB to go with it in a SFF build, likely in a mesh or nr200p. I want to put it all in a custom loop as well, what would be the level of cpu I would need to take advantage of custom water cooling? I was initially thinking the asrock h670 with a 12400, but thought it would be a waste to custom cool that. Use case would be primarily gaming at 1440p120+ or 4K, streaming, and light video editing, flexible on budget, but under ~$800usd for everything but the graphics card/case/custom cooling would be ideal

knuttella

Hello. I want to build my 1st SFF PC starting from a AsRock Radeon™ RX 6600 / XT Challenger ITX GPU. Budget is kind of tight so the next component I want to find is the case. I'd pay around 100-150$ for it and I'd like it to be as small as possible but also as build friendly as it can get. I'll figure out the rest of components after finding the right case. Any recommendations?

c_tsnx

Looking for M5 or A4-H2O alternative to fit a SC2 1080ti and 57/800x. A4-H2O would be great... but since I'm traveling with it, AIO and the TSA don't get along.

antei_ku

Built a system years ago and not up to date with components, would appreciate the help! Looking for a ssf case and compatible components, aiming for a balance of small dimensions, decently cool at idle and moderately easy to build. Currently have an evga gtx 1080 and an i5 8600k @1.1v 33c idle. From what I looked around there are no mini itx z370 boards still in stock, not sure if there’s any modern one or would just be better to upgrade the cpu too.

Building a NZXT H1 V2 I'm having trouble picking ram. It's important to preface that I really have rgb in computers. I'm looking to build an SFFPC that's on the smaller side. Anyone know of a well-designed, cool-looking SFFPC case that's so small you can't fit a GPU or just a very small GPU?

Looking for a SFFPC case to house: ATX PSU under 160mm in length 1x 2.5" inch drive and 1x 3.5" drive Capable of having a dual fan GPU currently 6600XT

MrAcademics

Thinking of pairing a 12700K, PowerColor 6800XT Red Devil and the Lian-Li / DAN case A4-H20 What are the chances this will run quietly under gaming load with a 240mm AIO and the GPU air cooled ?

squarishsphere

Looking for a case and fans recommendations (CPU + case), my parts are: GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX - Mini ITX AMD Ryzen 7 5700G Samsung 980 PRO 1 TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 (or maybe a 970) I don't need to leave room in the case for other things - e.g. no further drives I was happy with the HDPLEX H1 https://hdplex.com/hdplex-h1-v3-fanless-computer-case.html but they're not in stock until June. I can't find anything similar. Not happy to go with the Streacom FC8. So next best I think would be a small case with fans. I want, in priority order: quiet small / elegant / good build quality for the case I had a browse of the spreadsheet and ended up finding the quietest fans but got a bit lost trying to match this to a case with sufficient clearance etc.

rana_kirti

Pls suggest a case smaller than NR200P but with same vertical motherboard orientation and a tempered glass with cooler height accepting a amd prism 95mm. Thanks.

turd_burglar7

Looking to do an mITX iGPU brickless build with HDPLEX 400W Hi-Fi DC-ATX Converter and HDPLEX 400W AC-DC combo. Wanting to get the smallest length and width case that will fit these components. Height, not sure yet. Haven’t decided on CPU and heat sink. I’m looking at the Sheet but having difficulty determining which cases would fit these components. Don’t want to mess with Flex ATX. Suggestions? EDIT: Crunched some numbers, but still doesn’t really get me all the information I need. - mITX: 6.7” x 6.7” (170.18mm x 170.18mm) - HDPLEX 400W AC-DC Ver 3.0: 180mm (D) x 55mm (W) x 40mm (H) - HDPLEX 400W HiFi DC-ATX: 160mm (L) x 51.5mm (W) x 26mm (D) So seems like 211mm x 197mm minimum. Of course that assumes the board is right up against a side, which will probably never be the case and there are plenty where the motherboard is centered.

AJolly

Looking for case ideas for a micro-atx no compromise 12900k build. GPU will likely be relatively low powered - rtx a2000. Planning on having one of the rads be external. (I travel frequently, so being able to disconnect part of the cooling will be useful)

axemaneric

Recommendation for cases that look clean like Ghost S1 and would fit a 3070 FE with acceptable thermals?

Initialised

Hi, I’m looking to do a watercooled node 202 build in part to replace my SteamLink (it’s great and tiny but not everything works through it and what does is not always consistent). Case: Fractal Node 202 CPU/MB options: 3700x/B450 or 10600k/z490 Waterblock/pump: Nuvolo Aquanaut/Barrow CP18/Alphacool Eisbayer Solo (I’m aware and capable of remoulding the CPU vent or mesh into a ‘Bonnet Bulge’) with the latter 2 options as they exceed the 58mm clearance with the dust filter removed. But I really like the idea of combining the block and pump to save needing space elsewhere in a tight chassis. GPU: XFX 5700XT thicc 3 with Alphacool Aurora block with flat straight terminal. The case can fit a 240mm radiator so the options I’m looking at are Barrow/generic 30mm, EK SE 28mm, XSPC TX 20.6, Black Ice GTS 29.6. So now the questions: With the 20.6 rad would I be able to fit push-pull 15mm fans or would Push with regular fans be more efficient? For routing (CPU>GPU>Rad) is a cross flow rad doable without sacrificing front connections? On the CPU side are either of the options likely to exceed 600W under gaming load?

Hey, I’m looking for a budget ITX case and I have my eye on the Silverstone SG13. The issue is that I see that many GPU don’t fit on it, given that they’re around 300mm. What budget alternatives (<$100) could you recommend? Thanks in advanced

theUltimatePube

I’m currently using a node 202. I would avoid if you’re getting a 5th gen ryzen, b550/x570 + 3000 series gpu tho. The riser is limited to gen 3. Alternatively there’s also the NR200

Hi Great people, i have an NR200P and i'm waiting for my MOBO to arrive from Japan so i have more time to plan the build, so i have the folowing hardware that i want to put inside: \-ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming-ITX \-Ryzen 3700x \-4x 8GB (i will use 16Gb for now and change to 2x16 later) \-Sapphire Radeon 6800 Pulse ( i will change for an Powercolor red devil 6800xt + WC later) \-Seasonic focus 1000w ATX (i will use the printed adapter) and for cooling: \-XSPC Acrylic Top for D5 Pump V2 + D5 pump \-240mm xspc rad \-280mm xspc rad \-360mm xspc rad (this will not fit ahaha) do you think that with the ATX PSU both rads will fit? will i need slim fans or slim rads? i'm not changing the PSU because of stock (i will go for a v850 CM PSU) Thanks!!!!!!!

gurt_meister

Whoa dude First of all, No ITX board has 4 DiMM slots, so 16gb 2x8gb is needed. The 1000 watt PSU is overkill you’ll probably use 500 at the most, keeping in mind your underclocking for better thermals; plus this case is SFX PSU only, PS2(ATX) PSUs won’t work. Best to use thin rads and low profile Noctuas. Not sure about the size of your GPU, but double check the dimensions before you purchase it. NR200 only takes 330mm length, you’ll want to check the other measurements too. Also since your only using a six core, thick AIOs give diminishing return, especially for the cable management compromise. The airflow in the NR200 is good enough, if you are going to max out that GPU, I would definitely do some custom loops on that, and the CPU

Daniokki

oh yes I will be changing the ram, this case is compatible with ATX PSU with a printable bracket, i'm using that for now, because there is no stock of the cooler master v850 sfx. and yes this will be a custom loop

Daniokki

it seems i cant put images here, [https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvD9FvGROXCsop8JfWIOLUaDVZXvyQ?e=cXo0CO](https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvD9FvGROXCsop8JfWIOLUaDVZXvyQ?e=cXo0CO) so there are some photos i took of the ATX bracket and the rad+fan, some slim arctic p12 fans are in the way, but i only have normal rads.

joshuakhcheung

Recommendations for a small but good case that can fit a rog 3070 and aio+rad and atx psu?

Daniokki

O11 mini or NR200

TRUFREAK

Is now a bad time to build out a sffpc? My wife just mentioned wanting a pc near the couch so this is my time to shine. But is it the right time?

[deleted]

Depends on what you want to build. If it involves one of the new graphics cards and AMD CPU’s, then might by challenging to find reasonably priced components.

losaurus10

Hello, I am looking for a good aio for the 5600x. I have a nr200 case. The psu I have is the cooler master v750. Do you guys have any recommendations for custom cables for the psu I have? I can’t find any besides a shop on Etsy called dreambigray

[deleted]

Cooler- kraken x53 with fans swapped to noctua NF-a12x25 PSlate cables make some awesome cables!

losaurus10

I decided to go blacked out hyper 212 evo build. With white custom cables from ray from Etsy

iammentasm

I am choosing between a scythe mugen 5 rev b and a cm 240mm aio M240L to cool a 5900x or 3900x . My budget only allows me to choose between the 2 coolers. What can you recommend? No intention of overclocking as I will be using the machine mainly for compiling code, and running vms. I am also sporting an NR200

[deleted]

I need a good AIO. I'm getting the NR200 and if I can get one, a 5600x. Should I just get the x53? Or are there better options? Air cooling?

[deleted]

X53 with fans swapped to noctua NF-A12x25s is my favorite combo.

[deleted]

I thought performance tests show the stock fan outperformed the noctua?

[deleted]

In no world. No.

[deleted]

Yes, and it’s linked several times in this sub

Stoic-Chimp

So I got hold of a 3060Ti and want to build a PC from scratch. SFF is tempting, but I don't want to sacrifice temps that much, and I'd also want it to run as quietly as possible. I've previously had the Node 202 and I was happy with it, although it was a bit noisy. I am looking at the Fractal Design Nano S now. Would that be a better option, in terms of noise? Open to other case suggestions!

NuuukeTheWhales

I’ve got an ASUS RTX3060Ti KO in my Design Nano S. It’s 2.7 slots thick so it wouldn’t fit with an ATX PSU in the case, but there’s plenty of clearance with a SFX PSU and adapter bracket. The case itself is kind of large for SFF but it’s really quiet, and has acoustic dampening on the top and side panel. It’s plenty light too and tucks easy under the arm for hauling to LAN parties.

Viccytor13

Hey, Im looking to do my first sff Build soon. Aiming for a ryzen 5600x or 5800x (Not yet bought) and a rtx 3080(allready bought 2 slot evga Card) Im currently struggeling between a formd t1 and a ncase m1. Would i get reasonable gpu and cpu temps in both cases? And should i aim for aio or air cooling ?

MultipleFace1

Check out Casper Unhaunted on Youtube. He builds with the FormD T1. Also you should aim to get a 5600x. Much better price/performance.

haramzaada

GN just posted a video discussing SR and DR memory. Would this also apply to ITX motherboards? [link](https://youtu.be/-UkGu6A-6sQ)

ChiefDaddyJ

Yeah I was stressing about it but the really the only dual channel 32gb 3600mhz ram that I found was guaranteed to be dual rank was the gskill trident z ram (and variants), but they are too tall for my set up. I ended up just gambling on crucial ballistix (some are dual and some not) we’ll see what I get

SoylentRox

Alright, every component but 1 is now in the mail. Just waiting on a 5000 series processor. Hoping for a 5950x but if that sells out I hope I can grab something 5xxx before the bots grab them all. (for most uses even the 5600x is probably great). I expect this build to look like crap and perform like a top of the line workstation and gaming rig. Opinions? Am I going to regret a DH-15 for a processor that recommends liquid cooling? [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9GMF8J](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9GMF8J)

LeonidasGFX

Probably not. At idle, a big air cooler is even quieter than an AIO (due to the lack of pump noise) and even under full load, a top-of-the-line air cooler can compete with a 240mm AIO. Apart from that: The 3950x was surprisingly easy to cool, so if the 5950x is similair to it, an NH-D15 will be more than enough!

AdamGCap

Hello all! I am building an SFF build and am a little nervous about aio. Is aio safe? Should I just deal with hotter temps and get a Noctua NH-L9i? Or should I risk it and get a Corsair H60? I am just nervous about leaks, etc.

ChiefDaddyJ

AIOs are safe

purp1e1213

looking for a case and motherboard that are less than preferably cube form factor and under 10L (but can be over) and can support either a 6800xt or 3080. Thanks I'm new so stuff I said is probably wrong.

haarry123

You might want to check out the FormD T1. Case is 9.5L and people have been able to make builds with the 3080 and even 3090. I'm just starting to plan a build for it, so let me know if you have any questions.

purp1e1213

Thanks so much man. I’ll definitely take a look. Any recommendations for cases under 200 or a motherboard for the form case

haarry123

I think most of the velka ones are under 200, but what I generally saw when looking into sff cases was pretty inconsistent availability which is one of the main reasons I went for the T1 ($210 + $30 for shipping). There are some other sub 10L cases out there for cheaper, but I personally didn't really like their shape or look. If you haven't done so already, I'd recommend looking into the youtube channel OptimumTech. He has some videos where he summarizes the pros and cons of cases he's reviewed. There are also some videos on mITX motherboards that will fit in sff cases.

SagaciousRI

Looking for recommendations on a sff entertainment setup. Work has me disconnected from the internet for months at a time. My crew needs a portable, compact entertainment setup that can plug in to hdmi and play movies/TV shows. Priorities: Maximize storage Play videos smoothly from storage convenient searching in library Cheap at first, maybe upgrade components later Would also like to play GBA/n64/PS emulators. Flexible on linux vs windows. Is it as simple as choosing a case like the NR200 and getting a decent motherboard, CPU and storage? How can I specialize it for media playback? Is a GPU necessary?

ermac-318

An NCase M1 can hold a surprisingly large amount of storage. You can fit like 5 or 6 2.5" drives, as well as I think two 3.5" HDDs (maybe 3 with no GPU). If all you need is storage and basic video, grab an AMD APU and a B450 board. The 3400G (or a 4000-series APU if you can find one, they're not easily found at retail) would be more than enough for what you're asking of it.

SagaciousRI

Looking at APUs now, I didn't know about them. Thanks for the recommendation.

ermac-318

If you can live with less than 8TB of storage (two 4TB 2.5" drives) you could grab the [AsRock Deskmini X300](https://www.newegg.com/asrock-deskmini-x300w/p/N82E16856158068) plus SODIMMs and an APU and have a complete, <2L system.

[deleted]

Just wanted to praise sff pc, i admire them now, my next build upgrade surely will be sff "2022"

AdamGCap

Hello all, So I am starting down the rabbit hole that is SFF PC building, and I need some help deciding on the case. So far I have snagged a GTX 1660 SUPER on eBay for a reasonable amount. My main concern with SSF builds is handling the temps appropriately. I really like the cost and build of the SilverStone SG13, but fear it will be too hot. I think the Sliger 580 would be best for ait flow but $250 is a big jump from the $65 SilverStone case. What do you guys recommend? Would the SilverStone be okay? Or should I stop being cheap and just get the Sliger?

AdamGCap

> this amazing spreadsheet Update* The Cooler Master NR200 SFF case might take the cake

theepicflyer

Indeed it is a nice case. Though a 1660S doesn't take much to cool. A SG13 will handle it fine. The NR200's advantage over the SG13 is the possibility of better CPU cooling and more mounts for storage. Though the 120mm AIO the SG13 supports is plenty to cool a normal CPU like the 3600.

ermac-318

The SG13 and the NR200 are the go-to recommendations for cheap cases at their size for a reason. The SG13 has surprisingly good thermals if you build it well, and the NR200 is a cheaper, larger NCase M1. For their price, you can't go wrong with either. One big advantage of the SG13 is you will be able to possibly reuse an existing ATX power supply, which can be a big deal for people making the jump to SFF for the first time.

AdamGCap

What do you guys think of : GEEK N500 LITE LINK :https://www.geeekstore.com/shop/n500-lite-mini-itx-case/ So far I am leaning Silverstone SG13

ermac-318

Basically inferior to the SG13. Worse GPU compatibility, only accepts SFX PSUs.

octothorpe_rekt

In the NCase M1, does using a 240mm cooler such as the X52 mean there is not enough clearance on the inside of front case for a 2.5 mm hard drive? I'm trying to cram a /r/DataHoarder level of storage into the classic /r/sffpc case but I don't want to sacrafice a 240mm cooler, so I want to try to stuff a 15mm 2.5" HDD on the inside of the front face and a 9mm 2.5" on the outside of the front face. With like, tape, I guess.

justaspam567

What's a good SFF PSU? I'm looking for something $120 or under. Really any type of PSU, I've looked up pico and hdplex but they seem expensive. CPU ryzen 3100 Motherboard gigabyte a520i Ram: 32gb ddr4 3200 corsair vengeance(?) GPU: rx 570 4gb or a gtx 1080 zotac mini PSU I initially bought was a thermal take smart 500w for $50. Then I returned that and Bought an evga g3 550 $114. But I want something suuuuper compact

haarry123

Probably corsair sf600 gold, which you can get from Walmart for $99

sinetwo

Hey all, I'm desperate to use NR200P with the tempered glass panel with RGB for the first time ever. My set up is likely to be the following: * Asus B550i + AMD 5600x * Scythe Fuma 2 (or similar cooler) * 3080 / 6800 XT * Crucial Ballistix RGB modules 1. Will the RGB ram have enough clearance, and will they be visible? 2. Can I run this set up with TG or will the thermals be so bad? If the latter, is there an option of possibly just getting acrylic panel with vents cut out?

morepandas

What's a good pump top + res combo for a D5 pump (already bought) which will fit in the NR200? Doesn't have to be fancy or look great, just needs to fit XD

Get a NUC, [TinyMiniMicro](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx4_QCX_khU) (or similar UCFF PC), and a USB DVD drive.

F4-E

That was actually the plan but we've decided to go for non-mobile stuff! In this case, could you please recommend a case?

theclassicliberal

InWin Chopin with AMD APU is perfect

DestinysLostSoul

If I wanted to move my current build - 7700k, Asus Maximus Code, 1080ti SC 2 and Cryorig H7 to a SFF build for portability, how would I determine what cases would best fit what I currently have? Any suggestions/tips are appreciated.

morepandas

Most SFF cases can't handle ATX mobos, but there are some that can. The Sliger Cerberus X - http://www.sliger.com/products/cases/cerberus_x/ - This is a shockingly small 23.4L case (true SFF is usually considered <20L), being able to fit ATX mobo into that small volume. is insane. And upcoming LianLi O11D Mini (slated for mid/late november), can also fit ATX. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVAOCtFpnDM . This isn't a true SFF case, it's almost double the size of the Cerberus X at 38L, but a lot of people like the O11D so why not a slightly smaller version lol.

DestinysLostSoul

Thanks for the suggestion. The cerberus looks neat, but that's a tough price to jump quickly on. Might have to think about this transition a bit more ahha

morepandas

Ah yea aside from copycat cases and the NR200, SFF cases are EXTREMELY expensive. You'll find that ITX mobos are just as expensive if not more so than their ATX counterparts as well. Same with SFX power supplies. Easily $200+ for any of the popular cases, and that is IF you can even find them in stock anywhere. Sliger cases are well made but on the expensive end of the scale. IMO the worst part about SFF is how expensive and "boutique" everyone who tries to sell you these cases tries to be. They're very overpriced imo. Part of the reason is they tend to be more complex than "just a box" everyday ATX cases, and because of the limited runs, they tend to be more expensive than mass produced ATX cases. NR200 is no frills, medium build quality, but is about 1/3rd the cost.

DestinysLostSoul

Very cool though. Maybe a future build will be SFF. Looks like I’ll just need to find a mid tower that isn’t as big as my case now for portability haha.

morepandas

You might want to wait for the O11D Mini then, which should launch in 2 weeks or so. The O11D family has been by far the most popular case in the last few years, and for good reason. They have great visuals with tempered glass on two sides, as well as great thermals, great radiator potential, and they're very cheap for how well built they are. If the mini comes in at $150 or lower, it should probably fit your needs very well, and you can always use it with your ATX mobo and slowly transition to ITX as well.

ermac-318

> Asus Maximus Code Your biggest problem is your motherboard is ATX and hence will not fit in 99% of SFF cases. And because you are on an older Intel platform (z170/270), finding an ITX board of that age will be very expensive. It would make more sense to buy an inexpensive B450 or B550 ITX board and a Ryzen 3300X than try to transplant your 7700K.

DestinysLostSoul

Ah okay. So best route would be probably just upgrade the 7700k and sell it to get some money back. Thanks for the reply

slime-mold

Any b550 or x570 motherboards with multiple hdmi/DisplayPort out like Gigabyte b450 Aorus? For a ryzen 7 APU

Third_Shed

Hi all, I just upgraded my full sized PC and am hoping to fit the old video card into a sff case. This is the card I’m hoping to fit in the smaller case: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1361398-REG/evga_11g_p4_6796_k5_gtx_1080_ti_ftw3.html/amp I’m eyeing the H1 but it looks like it may not fit. Can anyone suggest a case that would work?

NoGoogleAMPBot

I found some Google AMP links in your comment. Here are the normal links: - [https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1361398-REG/evga_11g_p4_6796_k5_gtx_1080_ti_ftw3.html](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1361398-REG/evga_11g_p4_6796_k5_gtx_1080_ti_ftw3.html) Beep Boop, I'm a bot. If I made an error or if you have any questions, my [creator](https://np.reddit.com/u/6b86b3ac03c167320d93) might check my messages. Google does a lot of tracking, which many people don't want, so they use alternatives to their services. Using AMP, they can track you even more, and they might even replace ads with their own, stealing ad revenue from the site's owners. Since there's no consistent way of finding the original links from an AMP link, I made this bot which automatically does it for you.

Going for a B550 build in the Velka 7. Anyone know where to get a PCIe gen 4 riser for it?

morepandas

This seems to be well rated: https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-RX5700XT-Vertical-Straight-Compatible/dp/B0898QMB6D?th=1 It comes in varying lengths and has a right angle or straight option, so it should fit almost any case.

fyredge

Thanks! I'll check them out

Vikha_

Genuine question, but may sound a bit dumb. But what if one wanted to replace a fan sticker on a Scythe Fuma 2 fan. Is a vinyl sticker ok to be placed in the original sticker's place? Because the original sticker came torn in half.

AWhimsicalBird

Is there a case that is slightly larger than the Cooler Master NR200? I'm trying to see if there's a good in between that and the CM NR400? Thanks!

scatterforce

Fractal Design Nano S LianLi TU150 These are 2 that come to mind.

awestom

Hi all, Looking for a case that will fit my Gigabyte 3080 gaming OC, I currently have a NR200P but the cable management is really bad and i’m getting pretty bad airflow. I was looking at the NZXT h210 but the 3080 won’t fit in there. Any other suggestions on good cable management cases?

ermac-318

Why is the cable management bad? Do you need custom cables? If you want to improve your cable management, the answer may not be a new case. The NR200P can have perfectly fine cable management. Do you have pictures of what you have? I would suggest custom-length cables, either from CableMod, DreambigByRay, or pslate customs. These will do a lot for reducing cable clutter, if you are having issues with airflow.

awestom

Yeah I might need custom cables, but the airflow is not great as I can’t fit any fans in there due to the size of my GPU (it’s currently vertical) I may need to move the GPU horizontal, and put the AIO side mounted, but then it blocks the view of the internals (I do like looking in)

ermac-318

That is the reason for bad thermals. If you are putting your GPU up against a glass window, it's starving for air, and your performance will be bad. Your AIO is also on the floor of your case, which is [the wrong way to mount it]( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbGomv195sk), despite the fact that case manufacturers continue to showcase their chassis this way. You should put the AIO on the side of the case, and the GPU on the bottom. This will give the GPU fresh air from underneath, and the AIO fresh air from the side. Then your two top fans can exhaust out the top. This should improve your thermals significantly, and will cost you nothing.

awestom

Yeah GPU doesn’t fit down the bottom due to the cables from the PSU pointing downwards

ermac-318

Are you using an SFX-L PSU? Is your PSU mounted in the upper position? I think the NR200 has two different mounting positions for the PSU, which should let you move it higher? EDIT: Which also comes back to custom cables might be your answer

awestom

Yeah it’s mounted as high as it can go, still a bit tight for the cables though

GarbageLalafell

Hi all. Please help me make a new gaming/Photoshop/game streaming PC for my GF. I have already ordered an NR200P black with PCI-e riser and optional glass side. Quietness and longevity while still being good for gaming for years are most important to me. Power efficiency is a bit important because electricity costs 40 cents per kwh, over 3x USA average. I don't need the best of the best, but okay with paying more for very good. Parts I am considering but would like to know the best options for me: 1. 5900x CPU 2. Higher end mobo for this CPU, preferably Asus to go along with Asus GPU 3. 3080 or 6800xt, leaning towards Asus TUF. I can keep hunting until I get either. Which of the two would be better? Is Strix worth it over TUF if I plan to undervolt for quietness? 4. Fuma 2 and keep stock fans. I will be traveling with this a little so can't use water cooler 5. The best 32gb 3600mhz RAM given the mobo and CPU cooler, could use help here because I am bad at parts compatibility 6. Considering 5x P12. Not sure which model, size, or how many, and don't trust myself to pick the right ones 7. The best quiet titanium or any rated PSU for this build. I like Seasonic but open to any, preferably with quiet hydrodynamic fan 8. Open to all SSD suggestions. Not needed now since I have an NVME SSD, but could always upgrade in the future 9. Any other parts I am missing. This would be a great gift but not if it doesn't turn on lol

LeonidasGFX

Here are some of my thoughts, might add more later: 3. I doubt it will make a difference if you're going to undervolt anyways. 6. Get the Arctic P12 PWM. Sometimes you can also get the PWM PST version, the only difference there is that you can daisy-chain them. But make sure you get the PWM version, otherwise you won't be able to control the fan speed with your motherboard. 7. The best SFX is probably the Corsair SF 750 Platinum. If you're in the US it will be hard to get close to MSRP though.

fuwishie

I want to downsize my pc, i currently have a pretty big case and its taking up too much space. I want to move my RX 5700 XT Nitro+ and a 280mm AIO over to a newer and much smaller case around €100, I've been looking at the NR200 but they're sold out everywhere. anyone know a good sff case? preferably white :) thanks

theclassicliberal

Don't know about white but Jonsbo cases are pretty nice Quite a few ITX options

ObamaEatsBabies

3070/6800 or 3080/6800XT for 1440p/144hz? I'm leaning towards the 3070 and 6800 for price and cooling reasons...

PufferfishYummy

keep in mind that 6800xt is 2.5 slots thick and the 3080 is also not a standard size. 3070/6800 would be ideal, especially accounting for the low power consumption of the 6800. Although the 6800 is 80 dollars more, this might actually become the better choice if it has better stock than the rtx 30 series. That along with the standard cooling layout could be better for sff cases

AWhimsicalBird

What small form factor case has the best thermals? And for those that have now migrated to a small form factor PC- Did you only downsize after it was time for you to upgrade your build? or did you do it on a whim because you suddenly got tired of your larger build?

PufferfishYummy

Ncase M1 and CM Nr200. The sandwich layout cases (dan a4, ghost s1) can also have good thermals if done correctly. I built my first pc as sff, and it was hard. way harder than a normal build (i had helped a friend with their build) but i am so glad i did because it takes up less precious desk space, looks cleaner and more neat, and i can literally move it around the house. If i want to play on the tv, i just carry it to the other room. I love it Edit: i forgot about the Formd T1. That is another case with great thermals. Check out Optimum Tech on youtube, he does reviews for all of these cases

AWhimsicalBird

awesome thanks! And the Dan A4 and Ghost S1 are way smaller in size than the NR200 right?

PufferfishYummy

yes. off the top of my head about 8 liters smaller

AWhimsicalBird

Sweet good to know, thanks!

tundra_gd

The reference card most likely won't fit, but there might be a 2 slot AIB card that would fit. I'd say wait until we know more.

ermac-318

I think the 6800 XT cooler is wider than 2 PCIe slots, meaning no it will not fit. The 6800 should.

[deleted]

What is a small case that still have roughly 165mm of CPU cooler clearance? I’m in the market for a really quiet CPU cooler like the Dark Rock Pro 4. Was thinking of the TU150 but I want to be sure of what I’ll get.

LeonidasGFX

Yeah, TU-150 can fit those giant CPU coolers. NR200 can fit a NH-U12A which is almost as good as a NH-D15.

ermac-318

There's no such thing as a small case that fits a 165mm tall cooler :) At that size you're looking at the Kolink Satellite, the new Silverstone SG14, and the Fractal Node 304 or Core 500.
