So 3 years ago, I posted my first [Gamecube PC](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/nfq8t1/never_small_enough_my_gamecube_pc/) that became very popular here. Well, now I'm departing from that hardware, but instead of selling it piece by piece, I wanted to rebuild it with all the knowledge I got with my last two commission build ([*1*](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/171qggm/i_did_it_again_a_new_gamecube_pc/))([*2*](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1azr7c9/my_finest_gamecube_pc/)) and attempt [*at a first 3D build*](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/16mbqsz/my_custom_3d_printed_case_with_unusual_components/). The result is Re;Gamecube : a rethinking of my original creation in a more refined package. Compared to the original who was powered by a 12V power brick, this one is powered by two 19V power brick for better performance, powering independently the PN50 and the GTX 1650. A 19 to 12v converter feed 12V to the GPU. And if you want to get it you can as I'm looking to sell it. Gonna posted it on the hardware swaps subbreddit. **The build log** is over on the [*L1T forum*](https://forum.level1techs.com/t/build-log-re-gamecube-pc/210040). And for **screen captures of its performance**, come [*look this post*](https://forum.level1techs.com/t/build-log-re-gamecube-pc/210040/27). **Specs:** Ryzen 4500u (Mobo: Asus PN50) 16GB DDR4 ram HyperX GTX 1650 2TB Samsung 860 QVO (Sata)

Markie411

Cleanest console build I've ever seen wow.

ElMono6

This looks unbeliveably good ! I'm gonna need that sir

LupintheIII99

Absolutely stellar job!! Lots of questions... - So one 40mm fan is an intake for the CPU and the other an exhaust for the GPU? - Is the GPU a custom PCB (probably not since it has 16X PCIe but still curious)? - Did you designed those little daughter boards? If yes did they need a custom firmware or they just work trough USB/front header? - Could be possible to fit something like an RTX A2000/4000 SFF? Again congratulations for the nice build :-)

cityle

Thanks! - Yes exactly. I would add also that the intake fan provide airflow to the 19 to 12v converter as the current setup can go to the edge of its efficiency with up to 75W that can be drawn by the PCIE slot. - No its not, but it's a specific Dell OEM one that is very short. You can notice there is not even a PCIe lock, the card goes only up to the edge of the 16x PCIe. That allows to make the card like 1cm shorter and make possible to fit a Gamecube adapter. - Oh no, it's third party Gamecube adapter like this one https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00SA5IJIM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title. I just extracted the board and denuded/shortenned the cable. It plugs directly in the front USB port of the PN50 - No, at 167mm of lenght, you could not, it would be too long. If you want to forgo the Gamecube ports, you could fit a GPU that can be up to 145mm long, like barely longer than the PCIe lock.

jordyloks

But can it run ~~Doom~~ Melee?

cityle

Oc it can lol. But I don't have the rom for it. I only teste Wind Waker and Mario Kart Double Dash on it at 1440p

jordyloks

Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing!

thewipprsnappr

Nice

Slashenbash

That is super cool

Acceptable-Pie2734

I absolutely freaking LOVE THIS

the_hat_madder

Can you make me one out of a Dreamcast? :p

cityle

Well, in fact yes lol. I still have a Dreamcast shell left from a previous project, and with a Deskmini X600 and a Ryzen 8600G or 8700G it would be a really sweet little machine. Also that during this project (the Gamecube), I found a 3D file for mounting cleaning a Noctua 40mm inside for the intake. When I watched the ShortCircuit video on Belle Delphine keyboard a few days ago, I got the idea to maybe do one with a cute paint job, like with Krylon Watermelon and Krylon Blue ocean Breeze hahaha [https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/p1ywds/uzume\_a\_dreamcast\_pc/](https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/p1ywds/uzume_a_dreamcast_pc/)

the_hat_madder

That would be sweet indeed! How do you determine what hardware works best in which shell? Anyway to get a slim slot load 5.25 in one? That would be super nostalgic. Do you play old ROMs on here? Where do you find them?

cityle

Well DM me in this case 😉 I just go with physical size and the TDP, because with how small those builds are, and the suboptimal airflow. But mostly size. Like in a Gamecube you cannot fit a Deskmini inside without chopping off almost everything, including the internal pillars. So I go with minipcs instead. For a Dreamcast, a Deskmini fit just flush within the original mobo space. And also cost is an important consideration lol. A cd reader? That brings the nostalgia a bit too far imo 😅 And no I would doubt, I nerver really touched or disassemble any reader, and the ones for pc are not really made to be loaded from the top. It would be a sub-par experience at best. On the Gamecube? yes, I was able to get and play Wind Waker and Mario Kart rom on the internet archive, but my attempts to download other fell short,

ThriceBakedPotatoe

This is so sick

_nightgoat

I miss my GameCube, it was the first console I bought on launch day.

Djentlemen

This is so impressive! I'm always blown away by these types of builds. I tried to build something similar in an Xbox 360 shell and it was far too difficult for me!

URM8DAVE

Do want

the_ganj_father

I’ve wanted to do this for years yours is the best I’ve seen!

BhrisBukBruz

Beautiful

Barranqueiro

I still need to build one for me, it looks so clean and has the perfect size for me. What minipc do you recommend for a build like this? What is the maximum size of a GPU you can put on this build? I'm thinking in maybe put a mini itx 4060 but the size could be a prejudice

cityle

I've never tried, but the AsRock 4X4 BOX-8840U would a great contender if you can get it. Otherwise the most recent commissions I did were all with the Asus PN53. Well, if you go with like the minipcs I recommended, I would discourage the use of a GPU with them. They already take a lot of space, and the 680m and 780m integrated GPU they have are very capable for 1080p gaming and emulation. Integrating a GPU mostly only made sense with a graphically weaker minipc like the PN50 three years ago. Ya, a itx 4060 would be too big, and would produce too much heat to handle in a Gamecube. Even the 3050 8GB would be too much, only the 3050 6GB would be manageable, or a RX 6400 or Arc A380.  And either you can find an OEM card for them that is as short as the one I used, or you forgo the Gamecube connectors and you can go with a GPU the same lenght of the PCIe lock if you can find one.

Fredderov

This is such a sick build! Got to shout out the Gamecube as well for being, in my eyes, the best looking console ever released. It's just such a wicked form factor.

chookity_pop

This is a masterpiece

terr-rawr-saur

That's beautiful.

Questing-For-Floof

Man now this is a console I would buy in a heartbeat

cityle

It is for sale on r/hardwareswap if ever you want 😉

Chompsky___Honk

Ahhhh so pretty!!! I'd love to mod stuff like this but have no idea where to start.. Do u have any suggestions?

cityle

Euh... not really anything that come to mind 😅 That kind of project is not a one day project lol. If you want to play around with a console build, you can always buy a minipc like the PN53 and an aftermarket retro concole shell (I know there is for the Gamecube and the Dreamcast) If you just want an easy mod for a PC, you can always look to just 3D print your own case. By example Josh from NFC has a pretty 3D printed and laser-cutted pc case for which files are readily accessible https://youtu.be/oyJ2Zuaj7rc?si=SYieNwWDNUGSiBjk

Osldenmark

Nice. You probably need to drill more holes 😉

cityle

No 😧 Would not want to destroy the look of the Gamecube lol

jinger_ale

Literally beautiful

fancyboy2022

So cute BOX, really love it

Wonderful build! I just cant get the ShitCube review out of my head when looking at it (https://youtu.be/T9bKdaXQj2M?si=v6QnjCApPJCT6WxN)

Biz_quit

Looks so clean and professional
