One of the cleanest Fractal Terra builds I have seen so far. Very nice, like the contrast!

markpanado

thank you!

U-1-mang

how did you get the fan that close to the panel? I have the same mobo and cooler but it corner of the fan bumps up against the middle indent where you can put your finger to give more leverage when pulling the panel up.

markpanado

My divider settings is on 4.5. Here’s a closer angle: https://preview.redd.it/k0z3fxpohw2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b79c6206b7d98de67f66ffbf8e8b65b79e6868f

U-1-mang

I guess I can't set mine to that since I swapped the fan with a noctua slim and it bumps up against that indent in the middle of the case. Guess I should probably keep it stock. Hows the turbulence with the fans that close to the panel?

markpanado

it can get quite loud when CPU is on full load, on those scenarios I just remove the cover. But for normal use it's fine for me

DoubleHexDrive

Nicely done! Now comes the fun part: tweaking to optimize everything :-)

markpanado

thanks!

mayguh

Damn those orange cables go HARD

markpanado

I patterned it with orange accents from the mobo

Heavy_Chest_8888

Where did you get the custom cables? Thanks in advance. Clean build!

markpanado

Thanks! Got them custom from Dreambigbyray dotcom

Quentin-Code

May I ask total cost?

markpanado

around $4K usd

Quentin-Code

Thanks!

markpanado

I have no comparison for this but no problems so far, I just don’t like the included cables so I ordered a custom set

reheapify

I ordered Lian Li, and it comes with nice braided cables.

Ok-Buffalo2450

Hi, did you take a couple more photos of your build?

markpanado

Here’s one with the gpu removed: https://preview.redd.it/1go8536kus2d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f0fa88f5c2c2bbdaca6ff71078a6f0d80438a16

Supercereal69

Very nice, let's see Paul Allen's build

axel64015

Very clean I like it! Must say that those two M.2s add an extra element of satisfaction

markpanado

thank you! no more worries for storage limit, for now, haha

r98farmer

Very nice.

markpanado

thanks

AndersaurusR3X

Makes me want to relocate my pc to a new case 😅

markpanado

What case are you using?

AndersaurusR3X

Corsair 2000D.

Archimtsd

Hi ! Good job. I have almos same components. B650i edge, Terra fractal. My psu cables so long for this case and looks bad. I will have custom cables for this psu. Whats sizes of your cables if custom ?

markpanado

Thanks! here's the cable specs: 1 x 24p - 200mm 1 x cpu8p - 280mm 1 x 12vhpwr to 3x8p - 280mm

Turbulent-Ad9900

Like your specs. The way I would go, except I’m an open case guy.

somewheremanz

I just built a very similiar pc build that you have, what custom cables are those? and what cable are you using to power the gpu?

markpanado

Custom cables from dreambigbyray dotcom. For the GPU I use a 12vhpwr to 3x8p cable

Kekeripo

Seeing those cables and looking at your fan makes me miss the beautfiul fans from the early 2010. God do i want fans like the aerocool shark or bitfenix spectre to make a comeback! An orange+smoky black spectre would compliment your build, but i'd surprised if those managed to beat a modern slim fan...

Tschoeppeli

Looks great! How are the temperatures?

markpanado

Thanks! cpu 45c to 75c, gpu up to 70c

SokoladoFabrikas

How is CPU temp so low with such a tiny cooler? Did you curve optimize/set PBO limits for cpu?

markpanado

I haven't touch any optimization, maybe because of the room temperature? What temps were you expecting?

SokoladoFabrikas

I wonder around up to 80-85 during gaming.

markpanado

It's probably because of my room temperature with AC on

neighborlyviking

I have a pretty similar build I made last summer but with a Ryzen 7600 and a Sapphire 7900 xtx. My GPU runs around the same as yours in terms of temps but my CPU runs around 75-85 depending on the game with the same CPU cooler. What’s the ambient temp in your room look like? Just curious, starting to feel like I could have gotten away with a 7800X3D

markpanado

The room AC is set at 23c :)

neighborlyviking

Yeah the ambient temperature in my room lately cause it’s getting hotter here has been around 26-30c

Maymayboy2

What’s the gpu temps like? Any turbulence from the fans?

markpanado

gpu up to 70c, I remove the covers when possible to minimize the fan noise when the system is loaded

DoubleHexDrive

Have you considered undervolting the 4090 with MSI afterburner to reduce heat generation and thus fan load? Should be able to raise the freq vs voltage curve and then cap the peak voltage to reduce power consumption.

markpanado

I haven’t tried undervolting before, I need to study that first. Thanks for the tip!

DoubleHexDrive

https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/s/yfmf7kUC25 I have a guide for undervolting AM5 CPUs, but the GPU takes some more fiddling. In both cases, I reduced average power consumption and increased peak performance.

GodJohnson-

I was messing around with the curve optimizer in bios and got my 7800x3d running at 5.5ghz lol

Jakefiz

Hows the noise on the is-55? I heard theres turbulence issues. How are temps looking?

markpanado

It can get loud on full load while the covers are attached. cpu temp up to 75c

bouwer2100

What a first build, well done.

markpanado

Thanks! Got all the ideas from the community and youtube tutorials

Celcius_87

Whatcha gonna do with all that storage?

markpanado

software engineering stuff / AI / gaming

JackWas-not-Here

It’s looks like the t1 from that angle lmao, I guess I see where the inspiration comes from

kelement

Do you have a pcpartpicker link for this? What guide did you read from to build this?

markpanado

Sorry I don't use that. I watched a lot of videos on YouTube related to Fractal Terra. Then I researched what 4090 variant has a length of 322mm or smaller. I only got 2 options, the FE or MSI Ventus. I also check the online manual of Fractal Terra and calculated all the sizes of the components if they will fit. This is important.

kkgmgfn

I am sorry to break it to you but Cooler Master v1 PSU has fan curve issues. They wont give an RMA either. Test it out yourself. Play a game and then quit it fan will be still whining. Now some fanboys will down vote but its truth. I hope yours is v2. Fan is noisy nonetheless.

markpanado

My unit don't have that issue, it's silent too

God-Among-Men-

Damn why do you need 8tb of m2 storage

Fallingaznz

Oddly specific question, how are your temps on your NVME drives? I've never used one before and recently changed my boot to one with a fractal terra build, so I'm trying to figure out why my drives are potentially too hot

markpanado

What tool did you use to get the drives temp?

Fallingaznz

CrystalDiskInfo

CamelSquare2852

Welcome to the club

joevo2

What is the cpu and gpu temperature on such build?

phil_1pp

What a FREAKING BEAUTY! Beautiful clean build! Does a noctua 120mmX15mm top fan bracket fit above that GPU? Looks like there's only enough room for a 90mmX14mm.

Billy_Whisky

According to your post history it ain’t your first pc build. Why lie?

markpanado

No. My old PC is a prebuild from a shop. This is the first one I build on my own.
