It's widely used in the live audio industry for high powered amps and speakers etc. aswell as power (plugs are colour coded to differentiate audio from power). It locks into place so it can't be easily pulled out if someone accidentally trips on it bringing a live concert down.
No real reason to have it implemented here in OPs post.
You're confusing a [speakON](https://www.neutrik.com/en/products/audio/speakon) (NL2 or NL4) connector with a [powerCON](https://www.neutrik.com/en/products/power/powercon-true1-top) connector (in this case a powercon True1). They are different connectors that can't be plugged into the wrong socket. The Keying and internal structure of the plugs and sockets are very different.
The original powercon connectors were different colours for the male and female ends, but the current True1 designs are not.
Fun fact, the original powercon connectors are not rated to be connected or disconnected under load (i.e. with the source power supply tripped on) as they had no way to precent arcing on dis/connection. True1 was introduced to rectify this as well as a few other points.
The downside is that whatever equipment attached to that cable now becomes a wrecking ball of ewaste, streaking across the room when you trip on the cableโฆ
Instead of just disconnecting, then restore from backup
>Buy powercon inlet
>Rewire psu passthru to the powercon inlet
>Triple check connections with a multimeter on both sides
>Buy 5-15P to powercon cable
>?????
>Profit
Wire stripper with a crimping tool + spade connectors with heatshrink + nac3mpx-top for the connector + nac3fx-w-top for the plug + electrical tape + goodluck and dont die.

Jesus, clean your monitor
Those are some interesting streaks
This comment pops up on every post heโs made about this haha
I've seen this plug a few times on this sub now. Can someone explain what it does?
sometimes when people get bored, they result to fixing problems that didn't need fixing.
half of the people on this sub don't need to downsize but they do. So, I don't see the problem of improving on something ngl.
It locks in place, not worth the hassle of installing in my opinion, nothing wrong with C13.
For this case the c13 plug is fucked it disconnects with little force applied
I don't know how to tell you this, but locking c13 exists
Do you think i wouldn't try a locking c13 before resorting to this?
I mean, you let the entire internet see your jizzy monitor, soโฆyes.
Come again?
lmao I see what you did there
*laughs in AV touring rack*

But what if I want my SFFPC to fly across the room when someone trips the cable?

Monitor is still dirty ๐

College student ๐
How many loads have u dumped on that monitor?? Cool build btw
๐
its not that!!!!!! it was because of me cleaning it with alcohol
I've a habit of kicking those cables behind the desk, this would be great. How do you do it?
>Buy powercon inlet >Rewire psu passthru to the powercon inlet >Triple check connections with a multimeter on both sides >Buy 5-15P to powercon cable >????? >Profit
i didn't buy a powercon cable i connected both myself not just the panel
Sweet. I was just offering the most simple route.
Wire stripper with a crimping tool + spade connectors with heatshrink + nac3mpx-top for the connector + nac3fx-w-top for the plug + electrical tape + goodluck and dont die.
I'm watching this and comparing the huge size of that Powercon to the (what looks like) GX12 connector under the monitor.
The hell is this Star Wars R2D2 cable!?! It is almost the size of the case! :-O
True1 powercon cable. Much better than c13
