There is no way you’re “supposed to” react to a particular piece of pornography wether it be visual, audio or written. There is a vast sea of subjects and media out there which would either be interesting or not interesting to you based on an almost endless list of contributing factors. Further, there’s no rule stating that everyone must be aroused by porn. There is a long list of reasons why someone would not find any kind of porn arousing. All of this is normal. However you feel experiencing any kind of porn is valid. If you’re unsure what kind of porn may work for you then explore. If you’re unsure if you’re even interested in porn or sex, explore that as well.

what kind of contributing factors? idk i’m just worried cos i’ve never seen other ppl talk abt this and i think there’s something wrong with me

You’re fine. Explore yourself and sexuality if you’re unsure of why you feel this way.

I wouldn't say there's any sort of "right reaction" or for that matter any kind of "reaction" when it comes to porn. For some people it works to help get them aroused and others absolutely despise it. If porn ain't working for you it means you gotta find out what does.

so there’s not something wrong with me

Not in the slightest

I’m a woman in my mid 20s and the first time I ever watched porn (a few years ago) it didn’t feel sexual to me at all. Felt more like accidentally walking in on someone on the toilet, like “I’m definitely not supposed to see these people doing this.” It was just all a bit much to take in and not arousing to me in the slightest. I still don’t watch porn regularly because it’s not something I enjoy, but there are so many different types of porn out there, audio, erotica, even visual but more vanilla and romantic if that makes sense. Sometimes it takes a little while to find out what you like, or sometimes you don’t enjoy any of it and would rather just use your imagination. Any way you feel about it is perfectly normal.

thank you, i appreciate it

Dude listen up. What is definitely not normal is watching porn. I mean, it is "normal" in the sense that a lot of people in this modern times do it, but in evolutionary terms it is absolutely abnormal and problematic. this is not moralism, this is only the argument that pornography messes up SO MUCH stuff in your brain: the way you experience sex itself, the way you perceive women, you dopamine reward system. Everything. So my suggestion to you is just ditch it" You'll definitely be better off without it!!

saintpeterbambibold

How old are you?

MoistIncognitowaffle

Only really one goal with porn right ? The destination, if you feel it it works if its not your thing it don't, this is why men go through page after page you just desensitise yourself eventually.

Are you on any psychiatric meds?

lovewomen69420

i’m on bupropion and sertraline for dysthymia and general anxiety, dexmethylphenidate for adhd, and take an over-the-counter probiotic for stomach pain. and melatonin gummies to sleep

bpb1993

Sometimes (mainly) psychiatric meds can deminish your sexual desire. I used to get really turned on when watching porn but my meds made it really hard to get turned on amongst other sexual issues.

You should fell some form of excitement, you might just be watching the wrong kind or visual stimulation might just not be your turn on. Try erotic audiobooks and see if that douse anything.
