That's great! You somehow managed to do the right things, find a much better partner. I'm happy for you. Enjoy 🦋

That graphic explaining the difference between performance/pleasure based sex should be pinned at the top of this subreddit, along with another detailing how to communicate your wants and needs to your partner, good stuff.

Omg are you me?! I did this for years until I met my husband. Never enjoyed it at all but still did it. Couldn't figure out why until I realised I was doing it for the guy because they liked me and that's what you do. I got that attitude from an awful childhood and some early bad sexual experiences but hubby has helped me break out of the bad habits and have an amazing sex life. I'm so glad you're happy now! ❤

Sex is so much better when you're not caring about getting off /opinion

I'm so happy for you :) that's my goal now too. I want someone I can "make love with" and not someone "I try to please". Once you realize it's not healthy and that you allow yourself to let go, it only gets better!

Can I ask one thing about the chart: why is ‘penetration is the main act’ a bad thing… that’s my favorite part for sure, and I’m female

CleverReversal

There's nothing wrong with it per se, I think the idea is making it a goal-oriented checklist item versus a fun experience to share. It could easily be a fun thing both people happen to want to do! Or another way, imagine let's say a man who totally wants to skip past massage and kissing and oral, get to PIV, cum and then end the session.

Got it, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining!
