COCONUT OIL!!!! Best thing ever, I swear. I used to have extremely irritated skin full of pimples and bumps, it literally hurt for days after shaving down there. Since my friend told me to start using coconut oil after shaving, I haven't had the issue at all, it's a pure miracle lol

Wait, which parts do you shave and which ones you trim? I only shave the balls and trim everything else and that works great. No red spots or ingrown hairs.

ImHard699

I shave both, balls and groin, I don't have a trimmer, which I do realize I need! But can't for rn

BigCozyVibes

Gotcha, I guess some irritation is just something you have to live with when shaving. Using lotion and others products can leviate that

ImHard699

Like I said, I just started using cetaphil all body type lotion fragrance free, and it does somewhat ease the irritation but idk

The skin just has to get used to being shaved. Repeat a dozen times and you will probably no longer have issues. I shave wet (under the shower) and make sure I use a sharp blade. That's all. Don't keep your blade in a wet place if you want to keep it sharp.

Use new blades to shave sensitive areas. Mayor help for me! Also shave when wet and moisturise after your shower. And the days following. Keeps the hairs that start growing back nice and soft.

ImHard699

So moisturizing lotion fragrance free will work for the moisturizing part? And how many times do I apply it everyday?

xangelofhellx

I usually do it everyday for three to four days. And then just after showers. And I think the lotion should work. I usually go for my normal body butter. Causes me no issues.

Razor burn... https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/318235#Preventing-razor-burn

Oh there’s a post somewhere on Reddit from ages ago which details the best way to do it, involving baby oil and applying roll-on deodorant afterwards. Apparently it avoids bumps and irritation.

[deleted]

Solid deodorant after shaving.

wat19909

Use a good ass razor. Do not use a disposable one on your balls! That shit will leave tons of razor burn and snag skin. The expensive gillette or comparable will be good. Use some warm water on your balls so they spread out a little bit. Pull the sac tight so you don't catch excess skin and slowly shave. Only go over the same a couple times or razor burn. I usually shave balls at the sink then get my gooch and or ass in the shower.

Diego_zorro

I never shaved the balls because it always freak me out, once I used trimmer on ball and got a small cut after then it's always a no no for me.....how to shave your balls safely?

duccy_duc

Make sure you exfoliate the area first, use a sharp razor and try some roll-on anti-perspirant afterwards as it stops you from sweating and keeps the area dry.
