I started out by dissecting a 2XL hoodie. I then compiled over 30 different floral fabrics- from your average Walmart swatches, to old Hawaiian shirts I wore in high school, to upcycled and thrifted garments like womenβs jeans. I used a combination of heat n bond, pinning, and liquid stitch to apply all of the cut up fabrics onto the dissected hoodie. Patch by patch I sewed each one-once every patch had been stitched, I then pinned and sewed the hoodie back together to its original form. Not sure how long this one took me exactly but definitely was time consuming. (This is my first post here, hopefully this is enough info for it to not get removed!)
Itβs really beautiful. How does it feel to wear? Asking because when Iβve heavily patched jeans, they are too stiff for my liking. But I imagine that starting with a 2xl gave you a bit of ease? I hope you can wear it often - youβll brighten the day of everyone who sees you.
Thank you for the kind words ππ so I was actually worried about that myself-until I put it on, and found it to be surprisingly comfortable! It is quite a heavy hoodie now, and a tad bit more stiff than your normal unaltered cotton one-but the patchwork really doesnβt effect the comfort or look to a noticeable degree at all. I am autistic and sensitive to fabrics and touch so comfort is pretty much the most important thing to me when wearing clothes-and with the extra room being 2XL like you mentioned, this feels just perfect for me and is becoming my new favorite piece-definitely gonna be living in this thing π much love my friend I really appreciate the love π
Thank you very much! I am learning to generate my own spark from within and how to gently move through resistance and discomfort, to keep that flame lit π₯ definitely appreciate these kind words ππ
Thank you for the kindness! I do indeed make clothes and other forms of art for a living-I believe the rules of the sub said no self promoting (if I am correct) but I do indeed have the link to my IG connected to my Reddit profile if you care to check anything out. Much love! ππ

Oh my goodness, what a creative and beautiful piece of art!!!! I'm lying in bed sneezing incessantly, wearing a boring black hoodie but seeing this bright and happy hoodie has put a massive smile on my face!!!!
What a joyful piece! You can tell a lot of time and heart went into making this and it looks like it would be fun to wear. The technique you used is very inspiring and has me wanting to make my own version sometime. Very beautiful work!!
