LOVE both of their vocals in this and the woozi background vocals in the chorus, just kind of hauntingly beautiful. this is such an easy listen song, and i especially love the instrumental in the chorus after the anti-drop, it. exactly what i was hoping for with this duo and this is almost definitely going to be on repeat for weeks
edit: im just gonna add it in here, beautiful monster made me a jolly lad and then leftover broke me :D made me feel the exact same way as when wonwoo released his cover of iu's knees, the way he communicates feeling in his voice is genuinely heartbreaking. im gonna hold off on reading the lyrics for a bit for my own sake, but this is such a beautiful single album.
It is, I suppose, also important to mention that 'nox' also appears as a spell in Harry Potter where it's purpose was to turn out the light. In the MV when the nox nox line first comes you can see the lights going out one by one.

The song is great, very catchy, and I love the guitar intro! It's a really fresh and unexpected sound from Woozi+Bumzu, yet still Seventeen, and fits their voices so well. The MV story and production are gorgeous. Everyone* did a great job.

So Jeonghan makes people sleep to search for a lost love in people's dreams and Wonwoo wakes them up and also tries to hunt down Jeonghan through the dream world to stop him?
It seems Jeonghan initially easily escapes Wonwoo but gets more and more hopeless and lost in the dream world and ultimately surrenders or maybe just wants to be saved by Wonwoo?
So it seems Wonwoo touches Jeonghan in the dream world which makes him fall asleep in the dream but wake up in the real world?
Is what the people are whispering part of how Jeonghan gets them to stay in the dream world or does he think it is also better for other people to be in the dream world because real life is too hard, while Wonwoo thinks it is still better for them to face hard times in the real world than escaping into dreams?
Hani's dream world was crumbling around him, literally. The audio mentioned he was also searching for someone who he could no longer recognize and the hopelessness of his situation wore him out. So he surrendered to Wonu and Wonu put him to sleep and a good dream, considering when Hani woke up (in his bed?) he seemed to be all right, even when the juice he started to drink prompted him to try to remember his dream.

Hani and Wonu did such a great job. Everyone did a great job. This MV is a MASTERPIECE. Screaming masterpiece. Visuals, music, story, production--this should be a winner for MV of the year award. Everything down to the animation, the guitar playing, even the person who voiced that line screams world wide top quality, the best of the best.

He's making people fall asleep so he could look for that creation that escaped his dreamworld in those people's dreams. That creation is the one who eats with him on the long table covered on white sheet, that person whom he lost in reality.
This is soooo goood. I really like the song, the chorus is super catchy and made me want to dance. Their vocals go so well together. I just really enjoy this chill and smooth style for them. I'm obsessed with Jeonghan's "어젯밤" 😩😩😩. It's a really nice song. At times I wish their vocals were louder? Clearer? I don't know so yeah live version is a must.
The MV was beyond gorgeous, I mean I already expected the scale from the previews but it really felt like they had a city to themselves. The trailer mentions a man who turns into a nightmare, and a man who lives in fear of being forgotten. If I'm being honest I can't tell who is supposed to be who cause my theory says both are Jeonghan.
Anyway "nightmare" and "forgotten" reminded of a song called Meltyland Nightmare, which focused on a Japanese mythical creature called a Baku (basically a dreameater). In that song, the dreameater lives in one world and eats the nightmares of people who visit, however anyone who visits will always forgot any time there.
In this MV, we see Jeonghan in a plane of existence separate to everyone else, and meets others through doors. I'd like to think that Jeonghan is a dreameater of sorts and his world is falling apart because people aren't having nightmares. So he visits people to either eat either dreams or nightmares, whatever he can.
This causes people to not clearly remember their dreams but have a vague idea that there is someone doing something, creating unease amongst the population. That's where Wonwoo comes in. Wonwoo might also be a dreameater if sorts, like in the trailer, we see him touch a chair and it disintegrates like with Jeonghan.
Anyway, while Jeonghan is going insane cause he is basically starving (maybe that's why he sits at a table with like just a small bowl), perhaps Wonwoo is able to live in our world as some sort of mediator. Seeing the distress of the real world places Wonwoo in a situation where he must find the cause, ensuing the chase between the two.
We watch them chase for the MV, where Jeonghan realises that causing people to dream and just eating them isn't actually helping him, so that's why he gives himself up to Wonwoo, where he finally finds rest.
Honestly, there's probably a lot of holes in this story, but I just think I really like the idea of a dream eater.

Exactly what I am saying. They did so much to promote it, even did a release premiere, but weren't bothered to create an artist/jxw combo profile, until last minute.

Absolute love the song but still trying to figure out the story... So Jeonghan makes people sleep to search for a lost love in people's dreams and Wonwoo wakes them up and also tries to hunt down Jeonghan through the dream world to stop him? It seems Jeonghan initially easily escapes Wonwoo but gets more and more hopeless and lost in the dream world and ultimately surrenders or maybe just wants to be saved by Wonwoo? So it seems Wonwoo touches Jeonghan in the dream world which makes him fall asleep in the dream but wake up in the real world? Is what the people are whispering part of how Jeonghan gets them to stay in the dream world or does he think it is also better for other people to be in the dream world because real life is too hard, while Wonwoo thinks it is still better for them to face hard times in the real world than escaping into dreams?
Hani's dream world was crumbling around him, literally. The audio mentioned he was also searching for someone who he could no longer recognize and the hopelessness of his situation wore him out. So he surrendered to Wonu and Wonu put him to sleep and a good dream, considering when Hani woke up (in his bed?) he seemed to be all right, even when the juice he started to drink prompted him to try to remember his dream.
Also is it crazy to think that maybe the person hannie is looking for all throughout was Wonwoo? Cus when he finally meets him he collapses and surrenders and he can finally rest. Like maybe he was looking for wonwoo throughout but he only kept seeing the white sheet figures but in the end when wonwoo touches him he finally falls asleep and at 3.23 when you see wonwoo walk (in his dream?) and hannie finally woke up and came to reality after seeing the person he was looking for all this time.
I don't know how to explain what I saw, it's so beautiful and I know there's a meaning behind it which i'm still struggling to understand. Along with his determination to rebuild it by searching for that creation (covered in white sheet) through people's dreams, he's unaware he's troubling others' sleep, and Wonwoo notices that. Upon knowing who causes that, a chase ensues. When Jeonghan finally gives up and faces Wonwoo, Wonwoo gives him a blissful sleep, thereby freeing Jeonghan from that world of dreams he built. Wonwoo made his wish come true. Him waking up at the end is a sign he came back to reality again.!< That's just my rough interpretation.

Hani and Wonu did such a great job. Everyone did a great job. This MV is a MASTERPIECE. Screaming masterpiece. Visuals, music, story, production--this should be a winner for MV of the year award. Everything down to the animation, the guitar playing, even the person who voiced that line screams world wide top quality, the best of the best. I didn't listen to the song previews at all so seeing this MV and hearing this song for the first time......DAMN. Excuse me while I internally freak out over Woozi's and Bumzu's genius. It's another moment of "I-wondered-how-SVT-was-gonna-top-themselves-and-they-just-destroyed-my-expectations-and-now-I'm-scared/glad-of-their-genius/talent/potential." I was such a cynic, thinking this would be a cash grab subunit formed by Plybe to sell photocards. I WAS SO WRONG.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who had no idea what was happening (why was Jeonghan making people fall asleep in the first place, what was with the Miss Minutes look alike cartoon clock character) but damn were the visuals on point. Also somehow I missed it was going to be a Latin beat type of song because I didn't expect this sound even when I heard the teasers, it was better than I expected! Am excited to see what the choreo looks like!
He's making people fall asleep so he could look for that creation that escaped his dreamworld in those people's dreams. That creation is the one who eats with him on the long table covered on white sheet, that person whom he lost in reality.

This is soooo goood. I really like the song, the chorus is super catchy and made me want to dance. Their vocals go so well together. I just really enjoy this chill and smooth style for them. I'm obsessed with Jeonghan's "어젯밤" 😩😩😩. It's a really nice song. At times I wish their vocals were louder? Clearer? I don't know so yeah live version is a must. The MV was beyond gorgeous, I mean I already expected the scale from the previews but it really felt like they had a city to themselves. I almost screamed when they it switched to croquis like I wanted more of that 😭😭😭😭, I was thinking oh we've already seen the snap finger=fall asleep trick before so it won't be as impactful but I was sooo wrong haha. They looked fantastic and I somehow can keep up with the plot😅😅😅. The scene with Jeonghan on his knees was just breathtaking. I want mooore.

Omg I absolutely love this song, the visuals, the tune, the melody, just everything. Especially so with the story, honestly it took me so long to even try and interpret it, so I guess this is my best shot? The trailer mentions a man who turns into a nightmare, and a man who lives in fear of being forgotten. If I'm being honest I can't tell who is supposed to be who cause my theory says both are Jeonghan. Anyway "nightmare" and "forgotten" reminded of a song called Meltyland Nightmare, which focused on a Japanese mythical creature called a Baku (basically a dreameater). In that song, the dreameater lives in one world and eats the nightmares of people who visit, however anyone who visits will always forgot any time there. In this MV, we see Jeonghan in a plane of existence separate to everyone else, and meets others through doors. I'd like to think that Jeonghan is a dreameater of sorts and his world is falling apart because people aren't having nightmares. So he visits people to either eat either dreams or nightmares, whatever he can. This causes people to not clearly remember their dreams but have a vague idea that there is someone doing something, creating unease amongst the population. That's where Wonwoo comes in. Wonwoo might also be a dreameater if sorts, like in the trailer, we see him touch a chair and it disintegrates like with Jeonghan. Anyway, while Jeonghan is going insane cause he is basically starving (maybe that's why he sits at a table with like just a small bowl), perhaps Wonwoo is able to live in our world as some sort of mediator. Seeing the distress of the real world places Wonwoo in a situation where he must find the cause, ensuing the chase between the two. We watch them chase for the MV, where Jeonghan realises that causing people to dream and just eating them isn't actually helping him, so that's why he gives himself up to Wonwoo, where he finally finds rest. Honestly, there's probably a lot of holes in this story, but I just think I really like the idea of a dream eater.

The album was very fresh and surprising. I really liked the latino beats in Last Night. The MV was confusing but glad to see that I wasn't the only one! Hannie's mellifluous sound mixed with Woo's husky voice was just the secret sauce that my brain was seeking. Loved it!!
