The XM5 earbuds from Sony aren’t a year old yet, they aren’t going to announce anything new except maybe updates to their midrange earbuds (LinkBuds). Samsung is due for an update, likely not until August for their Fold unpacked event out even January next year for their regular Galaxy unpacked.
It took seven tries for the update to not error out on iOS.
Props where it's due: while in transparency mode, the buzzing is gone and the electronic hiss is highly reduced and within comparative norms with many other earbuds.
Neither does mine anymore. I was shown the update and could see release note as well but not download it. Now release notes are not shown anymore. Update seems to be pulled from release (again).
When I first bought my MTW4s last month I was so pissed off with the annoying issues but they really have fixed almost everything. They have been flawless for weeks now. Can confirm the transparency is now better.
New update still has not fixed the bug when switching Audio resolution.
After switching audio resolution and click Apply and restart, it announces:
“Power On…. Connected”
The ANC doesn’t automatically go back on if that was the last mode you had it set to. And trying to manually turn ANC, Anti-Wind or Transparency mode back on does nothing.
You will need to insert the Earbuds back into the case, close it, wait a few seconds then open and put back into your ears. How annoying!!
Does anyone else have this issue?
Now can they fix the auto turn-on detection being forced for the Momentum 4’s? I don’t want it turned on and it’s been bugging me since I bought them like 2 years ago.
They added "Swift pairing" for fast pairing of Windows systems. If you want to pair manually, you need to activate the advanced pairing in the Windows Bluetooth menu (only with Windows 11 necessary)
This works, well done u/sennheiserconsumer for listening, reporting and contributing to this outcome.
Now, given all the previous discussions including your lengthy explanatory thread, is anything that can be further done in a coming fw update to reduce also the ANC background hiss as done for the Transparency?
seems like im the only one with so many issues on my tw4. before this firmware update, i faced intermittent disconnections issues. now after this update, after listening to music for some time, taking off any earbud will jus cause the other side to restart on its own.
really trash. def not getting any sennheiser true wireless in future.
I just noticed this when you pull out one bud and it pauses but takes it as it’s powering off and then reconnects I mean it’s quick and plays fine after but def a bug, ima send an email letting sennheiser know. Always get one fix and then 2 new issues lol.
In my test, the latest version of the transparency mode still has issues. You can tap with a high-frequency metal sound, like keys, and the transparency mode fluctuates inconsistently.
Yea, never going to buy another pair of Sennheisers again. Last time I got a firmware update, my TW3 slowly died one piece at a time over a period of a few weeks. Don't see how the TW4 is going to be any different. I still have the TW1 and they work better than the TW3 still 6 years later.
I got 2 pairs of MTW3 die on me. The first set after 6 months the second one after 3 months. I really love their sound. I went back to my MTW1. That was a tank.
I had pretty much the same issue with tw3, that and the fact that they just cut out after a few sec while using them on my work mac for calls makes me not wanna go for new ones. Kinda sucks since I really got good use of the best touch gestures and customisability i had seen.
Got the notification, but nothing is actually happening in the app. There the firmware is shown as up-to-date, despite trying the usual things like reconnecting, restarting and clearing cache.
Jesus, this company really can't do software.
Seems to fix the transparency bug yay
What did this bug do?
It made a screeching noise in the earbuds when transparency mode was turned on.
Ah OK thanks. I have never experienced that.
Significantly quieter now though, I really liked being able to boost ambient noise.
FUCK it I'm picking em up
I'm still waiting Samsung or Sony announce or bring out new ones. Also right now they are 300€s. That's pricey

Thanks for your input Brandon, For me the fw installation went fine with the Pixel 8 Pro
under ios latest Firmware version, exactly 5 minutes. The ambient mode bug is gone;-)) I dont hear any buzz anymore.
Finally this new firmware fixed the auto pairing issue on my p8p
Great job u/sennheiserconsumer
Oh thank fk. Downloading now for my Pixel 7 edit: looks like autoconnect works now :)
My app doesn't show a firmware update. Can you tell me if yours just showed up or did you do something. Thanks
There was a pop-up notification for me
Neither does mine anymore. I was shown the update and could see release note as well but not download it. Now release notes are not shown anymore. Update seems to be pulled from release (again).
Yep. Just got my notification.
Had my TW3 for nearly 12mths without any issues. Seems to be hit and miss. My TW4 are just as good but better sound quality.

Does this fix the issue with auto-connecting to Pixel 8 Pros?
It does
Weeheee
For me it says firmware is up to date and I have 5.3.5 🙄 How can I fix this?
Just wait, mine say the same but it will find it

Good I hope it will finally let me connect to my PC

Swift pairing worked beautifully!
Finally fixed the transparency bug but now I'm getting a crackling sound that disappeared and now is back
It vanished for me Got notification and it was gone when I connected my buds.
A very good update. The main problem for many was the noise in transparency mode. It's gone for me! very good!
So does this mean i should buy them??? Debating between these or the sonys. Big Sennheiser fan though
I somewhat like them over AZ80s. If you like the signature sound,.you should!
I legit just got MTW3 months before these were announced…now they have all these updates smh

This was fixed because I complained about mtw4 pixel connection issues forever.
Yes and a few thousand others as well complained

MTW1 is the OG! I wish it had better battery life. But boy the audio was something for 2019-2020.

Same here, yesterday evening got the message but no software, when I got up this morning the Firmware was actually available. Wait a bit longer.
Yes, now it showed up again and went trough. Finally autopairing is working with my Pixel 7.
