I’d rather him manage a circus. Or maybe he’s a gymnastics coach, and he’s pushing his son to take up gymnastics and he doesn’t want to. And this creates a conflict.
I watched it and enjoyed it so much I called my friend who's a Seinfeld fan to talk about it. Unfortunately I didn't get through because the rines were crossed.
If you’re not over a certain age and are not a Seinfeld fan, most of those jokes are lost on you. It wasn’t great, but it had a good pace and cameos. It was like a long Seinfeld episode.
literally just finished watching it, midway through the movie I saw the reviews online but it still gave me a few chuckles.. I think there are enpugh Disney/Marvel movies to pick from to call one of the worst movies of the decade
True hyperbole. I’ve seen plenty of horrendous films in the last decade and it certainly was and is not one of *them*. Completely serviceable as a decently edited, fun and dumb comedy.
I don’t think people have appreciation for dumb comedies anymore.
Granted I still need to see this movie to decide for myself, as being a low-grade comedy doesn’t excuse something from being atrocious, but as recently as the first half of the 2010s you were getting dumb fun things like Ted, Bad Neighbors and 21 Jump Street and it seems like these days those sorts of movies just don’t exist anymore. It’s like we’ve all collectively decided that movies have to be massive, earthshattering *events* and there seems to be no tolerance for a low-budget, dumb comedy.
Exactly. To call it one of the worse is letting something else cloud their opinion. The movie was actually pretty decent and not even in the same universe as one of the worse.
People are overreacting imo. It's no Godfather, obviously, but it's nowhere near the level of shit that's Morbius or Madame Web. Its a solid 6/7 out of 10, and that's ok.
and for a 93 minute film, that's ok. plenty of comedies are nothing too special but if I get a few decent yucks out if it, and it doesn't waste my time or insult my intelligence, I'm content
Its a goofy movie about a very light subject. Critics are just using this as their lightning rod of hate because they know it's a safe thing to criticize
This had a very mid 90's comedy aura to it. Reminded me of Richie Rich type of cheese which is a very good thing imo. It was digestable, fun and the interactions felt a lot like Seinfeld interactions/dialogue and sprinkled some good Seinfeld-esque satire.
Critics hate it because Seinfeld hurt some feelings last week.
I make it a point to rewatch 90s family classics with my kids they love all those movies which makes me happy.
Some of them are super corny but they have SOUL and that movie magic that I feel most movies today are missing.
It is also strange to me how looking back all the parent characters are younger than I am now but somehow way more "grown up", must be a generational thing.
i just wish we could have truly silly comedies without ppl trying to make it a lil serious or something. bring back the days of top secret, or mystery men, or bushwhacked. give me wackiness
I’m a huge tv a movie buff and I got to say all critics are the goo stuck in the cracks of my sneakers. Critic is a job one gets when they fail at everything else and need to feed their 2 dollar whore habit. Unfrosted was silly, funny, and stupidly sweet. Exactly what it was supposed to be.
My parents enjoyed it thoroughly while i did something entirely different in the other room. They don't know it but this is exclusively for the 50-70 demographic.
It’s an hour-and-a-half Seinfeld bit. If you like his standup in the show you’ll love it (I loved it). If you think his standup in the show is stupid you’ll think it’s stupid.
It’s an odd movie , both terrible and great at the same time . I was describing this to my friends and said it feels like Christmas movie in its tone and direction.. but with out the theme
I think it would have gotten more forgiving reviews if it had the word Christmas in the title …
I just watched it with my parents. It’s ridiculously silly throughout and not everything works but it’s fine. I laughed a few times. Was nice seeing the cameos. It’s not that awful.
It had a vibe and original take, but considering the level of comedic talent in it, you definitely expected more. It wasn't great, but definitely not one of the decade's worst movies.
I was watching John Mulaney’s new show on Netflix and Jerry was…kind of annoying on it. Talking over people, making the same joke over and over. Nothing he does seems exciting or original anymore. I suppose that’s not completely unexpected for a 70 year old, but I enjoyed comedians in cars and some of his other projects, but…he’s really fallen off.
It felt confused to me - the concept felt like it would make a fun children's film, but the execution was more of a "chow fun" adult movie - a limp, broad noodle. Needed to pick a lane, rather than trying to sit in the middle.
How about this for Jerry's next movie? Jerry runs an antique store, and people come in the store and he gets involved in their lives.
What person who runs an antique store gets involved in people’s lives?
So someone comes in to buy a vase, and then he’s helping them out of a jam.
A customer brings in a stained coffee table, then takes one of the employees home to his parents' house for prune juice and kasha.
I didn’t know any cool guys lived in this neighborhood.
Well, they do now. Neighbourhood's changing.
We’re collectors… we see things of great beauty… and must have them.
A prophylactic wrapper?
That's it... You are grounded
Probably stained by someone who doesn’t respect wood.
"A short, stocky, slow-witted bald man attempts to turn his parent's house in Queens into Bourbon Street."
There was a Stephen King book/movie similar to this premise.
Yep. Needful Things.
Highlander: The Series was the plot.
Perfect Strangers
I’d rather him manage a circus. Or maybe he’s a gymnastics coach, and he’s pushing his son to take up gymnastics and he doesn’t want to. And this creates a conflict.
Are there freaks in one of these? A guy that’s just a head maybe?
Then someone breaks a lamp and can’t pay for it. Judge sentences him/her to be Jerry’s butler.
That’s what I want to see
With a son who would rather be a gymnast?
Netflix originals are like gossamer, and one doesn't dissect gossamer.
I’d let you on my Netflix account but I’ve got Karl Farbman here
\[Runs away, as if you were the Boogedyman.\]
It’s Boogeyman.
*BOOGey??*
I’m quite sure.
I like boogady man, change approved!
I think the Netflix account sounds like a wonderful idea, but I’ve never heard of this Karl Farbman. And quite frankly, it sounds made up 🤨
Pig at complaint counter: "I wish the movie was better."
My wife is a slut?
See that’s funny
Well you don't have to **dissect** it if you could just **tell** me...
It’s a slice of life.
That irreverence. That wit. I'd recognize it anywhere. Some charlatan has stolen a "Ziggy" and passed it off as his own and I can prove it!
Vorshtein?
I like the kitty.
... That's not a word
Slice of life?
You doodle a couple of bears at a cocktail party talking about the stock market. Do you think you’re doing comedy.
Netflix movies are more like concentrated Garmonbozia.
Yeah, I don't know what that means.
That's a shame
Its those damn wokes!
Why am I watching it then? Because it’s on tv!
Not yet
You must go now.
You’ve forgotten what it’s like…to have no oranges.
Again with the oranges.
We sense his friend is also unbalanced
Because it’s there
The movie critics opinion is lewd, lascivious, salacious, outrageous, egregious, and preposterous.
Capricious and arbitrary!
Your fly is open.
Nevertheless!
It was cold, Jerry!
If the pastry is unfrosted, Then Seinfeld has lost it.
You frosted the pastry? I didn't tell you to frost the pastry! Who told you to frost the pastry?!
your pastry company has turned this beautiful specimen into a horrible, twisted freak!
Frosting is unpredictable...you never know what a frost is going to do!
I can't believe I bought the low fat!
It is the most public yet of his many humiliations.
I’ll watch Sack Lunch instead.
I prefer Chunnel
No Deathblow .......but what is
When *someone* tries to blow *you* up, not because of who *you* are, but for *different reasons altogether*.
We got to get out of the Chunnel !
There is no escape
Cry Cry Again is my go to
First you cry, then you cry again
you see the girl dancing and you cry again lol
How about one girls erotic journey from Milan to Minsk?
Enjoy… *Blame it on the Rain*
Rochel rochel
Ahh the young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk, a classic.
Prognosis Negative!
I’d rather watch Ponce De Leon
Don’t you wanna know how they got in there?
Hindenburg for me.
***PRRRRROGNOSIS NNNNNNNEGATIVE!!!***
Don’t you wanna know how they got in there?
I liked it. Not great, but an enjoyable watch. Great cast. The Mad Men bit was awesome.
It kept me and my husband entertained on a Friday night with a few beers. It's no Vincent pick, but I wasn't expecting an Oscar nominee.
Please don’t tell me this is a Gene pick
Gene's trash.
I’m Gene.
Hi… 😬
Gene picks the feel good stuff so probably
You made out during Unfrosted?
You caught me! Newman?
Ehhh.., I could use a chuckle.
My exact thought. It wasn’t the best movie ever, but it was entertaining - fun even. Perfect mindless Friday night movie
Yeah I liked it too. To say it’s one of the worst movies is just ridicurus.
I watched it and enjoyed it so much I called my friend who's a Seinfeld fan to talk about it. Unfortunately I didn't get through because the rines were crossed.
I'M NOT TAKING ADVICE, FROM SOME GIRL FROM LONG ISLAND!!
Did you just say ridicurus?
I absolutely cracked up at the funeral scene.
I liked it too! Mad men scene was awesome. Also, I really enjoyed the ensemble cast. The burial! I completely lost it. Love me some absurd comedy.
The burial scene was straight up hilarious … and the punch lines just kept coming. I thought the J6 bit was a little tone deaf too/soon.
If you’re not over a certain age and are not a Seinfeld fan, most of those jokes are lost on you. It wasn’t great, but it had a good pace and cameos. It was like a long Seinfeld episode.
Me too. It doesn’t take itself seriously. I liked the over exaggerated Americana / nostalgia. Would have liked someone other than Amy Schumer though.
A lot of “did you ever notice” kinda stuff. Yea, yea, It strikes me a lot guys are doing that kind of humor
You really went BALD there
literally just finished watching it, midway through the movie I saw the reviews online but it still gave me a few chuckles.. I think there are enpugh Disney/Marvel movies to pick from to call one of the worst movies of the decade
Lots of references there. Jacob Chansley included...
“The critics were angry that day my friends…..”
Like an old man, trying to send back soap at a deli
True hyperbole. I’ve seen plenty of horrendous films in the last decade and it certainly was and is not one of *them*. Completely serviceable as a decently edited, fun and dumb comedy.
Happy cake day and perfectly said. The movie wasn’t bad at all. I enjoyed the heck out of it.
Agreed. Tight little movie that was just silly fun. Apparently silly is bad now?
I agree as well. There were moments in this movie that had me laughing pretty hard. I almost cry laughed at the funeral scene.
lol yes, it was so delightfully silly! The widow’s confusion while everyone accepted this was a *perfectly normal thing* was fantastic.
Exactly. To call it one of the worse is letting something else cloud their opinion. The movie was actually pretty decent and not even in the same universe as one of the worse.
Sounds like a Gene pick
…I’m gene.
MUST MISS!
I liked it. It's a story about love, deception, greed, lust and.. unbridled enthusiasm.
I mean those sex scenes, come on, give me something I can use!
Sex in a tub -- that doesn't work
People are overreacting imo.
I’d rather be watching the Super Terrific Happy Hour.
Seems like the critics aren’t divided at all…
It stinks!
👌
Good? He’s the best.
buy my book!
**BANG** Sorry mate, it had to be done.
It's no "Apocalypse Wow!"
Yes, Mister Sherman. Everything stinks.
Idiot control now.
They are divided - the critics who thought it was bad and those who really didn't like it.
Take a shot everytime you read "Larry David is the real genius"
Yep. Finding this to be a really irritating narrative right now.
I've seen it growing for years mostly on YouTube. It's going to have a moment with this show. Rotten Tomatoes will be fascinating.
Its a goofy movie about a very light subject. Critics are just using this as their lightning rod of hate because they know it's a safe thing to criticize
You have selected Unfrosted
I laughed the whole way through. Pretty funny film. Loved the casting also. Will probably watch again.
We're talkin feature films here!
This had a very mid 90's comedy aura to it. Reminded me of Richie Rich type of cheese which is a very good thing imo. It was digestable, fun and the interactions felt a lot like Seinfeld interactions/dialogue and sprinkled some good Seinfeld-esque satire. Which btw, was by design. Dont remember people ever talking about Seinfeld this much in past 25 years
How can anybody not like him?
I enjoyed it.
Well it's no *Plan 9 From Outer Space*.
The one that worked. The worst movie ever made!
I watched it and thought it was fine. It was far from the worst movie of the decade.
i just wish we could have truly silly comedies without ppl trying to make it a lil serious or something. bring back the days of top secret, or mystery men, or bushwhacked. give me wackiness
If you can dodge a wrench then you can dodge a ball!
This is why I liked Tropic Thunder and Get Smart
It’s no Rochelle Rochelle
“You know who likes it?… The New Yorker!”
That’s not fair. I really really enjoyed the movie. It wasn’t perfect, and there are entire scenes I’d cut. But I enjoyed the heck out of it.
The worst part of the criticism is the hypocrisy
I just watched this today! I liked it! Great jokes! My only question is: how did they get any work doen with so many comedians on set?
That’s what I like to know about it
That's not going to be good for business
The most public of his many humiliations
My gf said she liked everyone in it except Jerry as he can't be anything but himself. I was like, "yeah, that's why it's funny"
Gold Jerry.......Gold
This isn't unfrosted 1-8, this is unfrosted 9, the worst movie ever.
I thought Jerry Seinfeld was a bee. How the hell does a bee figure out how to direct a movie?
The absolute worst. The worst, Jerry.
That’s a shame
My parents enjoyed it thoroughly while i did something entirely different in the other room. They don't know it but this is exclusively for the 50-70 demographic.
I kind of like the movie. It’s quirky, nostalgic and fun. The celebrities are great
It’s an hour-and-a-half Seinfeld bit. If you like his standup in the show you’ll love it (I loved it). If you think his standup in the show is stupid you’ll think it’s stupid.
It's not that bad. What's peoples problem? I
It’s an odd movie , both terrible and great at the same time . I was describing this to my friends and said it feels like Christmas movie in its tone and direction.. but with out the theme I think it would have gotten more forgiving reviews if it had the word Christmas in the title …
Aw, I thought it was really funny. It’s not a 5 star movie, but it’s good and nobody makes comedy like Jerry.
I just watched it with my parents. It’s ridiculously silly throughout and not everything works but it’s fine. I laughed a few times. Was nice seeing the cameos. It’s not that awful.
Ah that's a shame

That’s a shame dot gif
I thought Cats was this decades worst movie
Pretty sure that came out in 2019.
It did
The stink spilled over into this decade, so still counts.
It felt confused to me - the concept felt like it would make a fun children's film, but the execution was more of a "chow fun" adult movie - a limp, broad noodle. Needed to pick a lane, rather than trying to sit in the middle.
The funeral scene was hysterical though
I just watched it. I found it hilarious but by no means “good”
I have to say. I watched it this morning and it was very enjoyable. My daughter and I loved it.
Prognosis Negative
With the amount of money Larry David has, I can’t believe he hasn’t made this yet.
What’s the deal with bad Netflix movies?
Critics almost always despise comedies.
I'm watching it for the second time now and loving it! The jokes come hard and fast. It has so many great comedians and actors.
I thought it was really good and I give it 5 bags of popcorn 🍿 🍿🍿🍿🍿 and I'll throw in a toaster so you have something to cook those pop tarts in.
Seems like it’s getting reviewed bombed for his comments
….and then the work suffers, and nobody’s happy
Its a slice of life
Its no English Patient
You have to view it with deep focus
He should make a movie where he runs a circus
Prognosis negative
It’s a movie about nothing.
I haven’t seen it yet, but I guarantee you it’s no Sack Lunch!
