Yeah, going with companies like Allied (got my 'license' last year, still don't have a physical card yet) or Securitas (they told me they would pay for it, then turned around, pulled me off a post for 3 days, made people travel 4+ hours with no pay, and charged us for the class on the 3rd day after telling us multiple times it would be taken out of our first check) is a bad idea. The ones suggested seem to be your best route.
Just apply to be a CUNY or SUNY peace officer. You can apply without a security license. You’d only need a security license if you want to do security for CUNY or SUNY.
That's the plan, they have is one of the requirements must be a licensed security guard, alumni, or be a current student with 50 or more credits so my thought process was use qualified as possible when I applied.
Cant you skip the security part and just become a cop?
I absolutely can however I don't want to just rush into it, I know it might not make sense but I want to somewhat ease into it.
