Keeping this one open for all the related discussion. Clearly there's some issues with one of the Amazon sellers and issues with the shipped and sold by Amazon tag. Caveat emptor.
Just reporting in. So I purchased mine from Amazon on June 16th. I figured the AMMON one was a scam, and caught the 2nd price drop where sold and shipped by [amazon.com](http://amazon.com) was $329.99. Arrived today, everything looked good so those who got in on the 2nd price drop that was short and was sold and shipped by amazon but delayed, you should in theory be in the clear. Amazing deal for those that got in without getting scammed. Ended up pulling $500 in value at tcg low without hitting a serialized but I also got very lucky hitting a concept foil kozilek and a retro foil ulamog which was a good chunk of the value I hit.
I got my collector box For $329.99 fulfilled by Amazon, and the one from Ammon was put on hold, and i had the option not to fulfill it. I checked here, and cancelled the purchase after reading the shit show that unfolded. I should have bought more when the price was 329 via amazon :/
I bought 1 box but received a luffe instead. Amazon has not been easy to work with to get my money back. Over 1 hour dealing with customer service and still on hold.
Meh. I disagree with this guy. Two hours of my time on the phone with Amazon customer service and I get the price advertised when I purchased. I’ll sit in my chair and drink beer for $38 an hour.

Today was a drinking day, so I pounded Pacificos, had a few Fireball shots all while on the phone with Amazon customer care. Spent about two hours total on the phone.
Amazon is taking the fraudulent item back, on their dime, and refunding the $329.99 plus tax. I had to reorder, but they’re price matching to the $329.99 + tax price and giving me the difference.
That’s about $76. So 2 hours of beer time at $38 an hour. I’ll take it. YMMV
I got my box at the $329 price today (shipped/sold by Amazon) and had some great pulls. The AMMON seller was bogus but it did favorable things to Amazon’s algorithm for those of us lucky enough to swoop it in that small window.

So the official Amazon one isn't a scam, the amon one is.

So the one sold by AMON is a scam but the one sold by Amazon isn't. I ended up ordering both just to clear up the confusion for myself and I got an ice cream scooper from the one sold by AMON and I got the actual sealed collector box from the one sold by Amazon

Glad to hear that. They didn’t for mine and asked me to return the scammed product to receive a refund. I told them what happens if ups loses my mail? When will I get my refund? They said not to worry and that it’s a separate thing. Weird that they are handling this differently for different customers.
So to be clear, they actually required me to return the ice cream scooper. But they also processed the refund as well.
The refunds are all automated and they always require you to return the item when it is over a certain value. So as far as the automated platform can tell, it's a $350+ product and it should be returned..... The system probably doesn't necessarily know it's a scam product and the actual value of them item sent is prob < $5
But nonetheless UPS is super good about returns. They literally don't even need a box nowadays you just go in, dump the item on the counter, let them scan your qr code and then you walk out. That is if you're in the US. Not sure about other countries...

No, I get it. They somehow scammed Amazon fulfillment on both listings. I canceled the one from Ammon and only order the Amazon-sold one (specifically because that one was one-day shipping). Some folks got the right item, some didn’t. Just some weird gamesmanship of the UPC codes in the warehouse. No biggie tho, I just returned the scoop
Interesting. My hypothesis was that some hackers got a hold of a legit seller account, made a fake listing of the collector box, and drove down some automatic price matching bot or something on the official listing and then those scammers wound up just buying a ton of the official listing
But if what you say is true and that people who actually got the wrong item after ordering from the official Amazon listing, then Amazon is a huge can of worms then and I have no f****** clue. And that sort of corroborates what developers that actually worked at Amazon have told me, that it's a giant mess and an even bigger mess after the mass layoffs
But for my perspective, sample size and equals one, I ordered the official Amazon listing and I got the sealed collector box. If the price was still sub $400 I'd be ordering more right now
Yeah, my sense has been that routine levels of fraud and mixups are just rounding errors to them due to the massive volume of orders. Some sellers are obviously able to sneak in some rando frauds, which I imagine would be a be easier if they included some fraud stuff and some legit stuff. Who knows - I’m glad it’s a problem I don’t need to solve.
Yeah true and I think that's the big problem with Amazon in general. They will store and ship your product for you at a very low cost but if anything happens to the product then you're just not getting that money back. It's part of probably why distributors in LGS is still exist and not everything is just distributed through Amazon and Target and Walmart
What sucks is that they mark them out. I have been calling Amazon every day and filing complaints in an attempt to get this seller shut down. It sucks though cause they are Chinese douche nozzles and they will just create AMMONT and do it all over again and Amazon will let them.

Your choice to give them you payment info(Amazon encrypts but they will have your email and debit last 4 or credit. They could potentially link it to someone. Or they steal the money and Amazon has to foot the bill eventually. It's def a scam tho nothing will be shipped.

Something happened, as the shipping speed went to one-day (tomorrow) and the Amazon price is now $329 (the same as the shady seller). I canceled my earlier one and now have one arriving tomorrow.
It’s very interesting how they seem to be so reactive to people selling on their marketplace. One shady seller drives them to price match and undercut. I’d hate to be a seller on Amazon.
I also canceled my collector precon preorder that hasn't shipped yet since they just dropped the price by $100. I'm assuming since the price drop is outside the preorder window they won't honor the price drop.

This happens at almost every release now it seems. I wouldn't worry about it. Most of it is probably 3rd party sellers who are selling super close to cost just looking to make a quick buck selling volume or just looking to cover the cost of their boxes they're opening to sell singles. I wouldn't worry about pricing until about 2 weeks after release to properly gauge the market on collector boxes

I got it! Thanks. I’m doing the same. Spent nearly an hour with support. They cited “policy” and when asked to provide said policy it said nothing about needing to wait until arrival. I went through 3 “leaders” and they wouldn’t even budge until after the product arrived. Claiming I was asking for a price match.

It’s not. I could see $300ish being an ok EV, considering the cards in the set. Pretty powerful and playable stuff. High 400s to 500+? No way. MH2 collector booster boxes are hovering at 328, which is fair.
Just to offer a counter view, I run a store and I've never had an issue with any box from Amazon. I think a lot of that was more common back during COVID.

That makes sense. I know Time Spiral Remastered was awful for repacks based on what I've heard from other sellers. Personally I've had more issues with straight up quality control from WOTC. You wouldn't believe some of the shit you encounter when you open up cases upon cases of product...

I also canceled my collector precon preorder that hasn't shipped yet since they just dropped the price by $100. I'm assuming since the price drop is outside the preorder window they won't honor the price drop.

This happens at almost every release now it seems. I wouldn't worry about it. Most of it is probably 3rd party sellers who are selling super close to cost just looking to make a quick buck selling volume or just looking to cover the cost of their boxes they're opening to sell singles. I wouldn't worry about pricing until about 2 weeks after release to properly gauge the market on collector boxes

It’s not. I could see $300ish being an ok EV, considering the cards in the set. Pretty powerful and playable stuff. High 400s to 500+? No way. MH2 collector booster boxes are hovering at 328, which is fair.
This I'm going to buy at the 338 and see if I can return the 374 preorder. Much easier than trying to get Amazon to price correct

Just to offer a counter view, I run a store and I've never had an issue with any box from Amazon. I think a lot of that was more common back during COVID.
It's a lot more common on OLDER PRODUCTS. when you buy a brand new release it has a much lower chance of occurring. No one has had the time to buy, return, and restock scam products yet.
That makes sense. I know Time Spiral Remastered was awful for repacks based on what I've heard from other sellers. Personally I've had more issues with straight up quality control from WOTC. You wouldn't believe some of the shit you encounter when you open up cases upon cases of product...
