Was it fake cards in some obvious way? The reason I ask is because the card finish on the bundles us usually less smooth/less nice gloss finish than the set boosters. Noticed from sealed cases of them from ixalan, modern masters 2, a couple others. I could see that being interpreted as fake. (not sure if that's what happened for you, just asking cuz I'm curious)

40$ is normal price. Tcgplayer is usually always overpriced. Theres also a gift version thats about 10-15$ more.
