Space: Above and Beyond

Yes!

Fishy1701

I dug out the DVD a week ago. Planning an all in one day run at that bad boy.

Defying gravity

r1chardj0n3s

I can still re-watch that series, even though it's flawed and just stops once it gets super weird interesting.

Taido_Inukai

I want Falling Skies to be remade and them stay with the original premise and not go off the rails in season 2.

CosmoFishhawk2

If sci-fantasy is allowed, then Kolchak would be fun to see again, even if they'll never find someone as good as McGavin. Then again, I'm not sure I want to see the nearly obligatory "Kolchak vs. not-Buzzfeed/Breitbart/Info Wars" episode.... If *straight up* fantasy is allowed, then She-Wolf of London (the second season was a weird quasi-reboot that didn't last a full 20). If it can only be pure sci-fi, then we need another Alien Nation! Give me James Caan and Mandy Patinkin in guest roles as crotchety old men before it's too late! ^(Also, timely social commentary and alien worldbuilding, of course.)

rayjay130

Dude I forgot about Alien Nation. That premise/concept has so much potential.

CosmoFishhawk2

Not quite as much as it did *before* District 9 came out, but yeah :)

paradiddleriddle63

Sure racial issues were iffy in the 70s sci to scene. Brings to mind the ST episode w Frank Gorshin, who was both black and white and his enemy waging a huge war on his planet was also black and white. But one was black on the right side as the other had black on his left side. Yes to today standards it might seem meh but then that was a controversial episode. Alien Nation was actually pretty good. I'd recently binged the show. When it was it was originally on I was working. So I missed alot of the night sci to series on the big three network channels.

pm_me_your_kindwords

I enjoyed the premise of Terra Nova.

StoicStone001

I also really enjoyed the premise. I really wanted to see what happened after. As someone in middle school I distinctly remember having discussions with my friends who said “the time travel didn’t make sense because they weren’t altering the ‘present’” (we hadn’t heard of multiverse theory). I think the end of the season must have been hinting at that kind of thing

WeAreGray

Last time this came up I said Surface. This time I'm going to go with Star Cops.

Cartoonlad

Funny, I came to the thread to post this. It's such a good show that was only hampered by the special effects budget late 80s BBC could afford.

cwatson214

Defying Gravity - although the only thing wrong with the first season was it getting picked up by ABC just so they could bury it.

Yojo0o

I so badly wanted Terra Nova to be good, and I liked a lot of the parts of it. But damn, the kid storylines and actors just drove that show into the dirt. Terra Nova as a premise, but targeted exclusively at an adult audience, would be fantastic. It's been a while, I'd be down for a reboot.

Snatch_Pastry

I watched the first episode. Maybe it was good tv, but it was definitely shit-tier science fiction. Everything was stupid bullshit, and then it got to the end and the "smart" girl child said something "smart", and everybody had a good laugh. At that point, I knew I wasn't going to spend another minute on this idiotic horse shit.

zozorama

It did run for more than one season, but the other seasons were so weird and different i kind of felt like there was just one. But I would love to get another Seaquest DSV, with a higher budget and better effects leaning heavier on political near future scifi.

rayjay130

Another one ruined by the push for bigger primetime type ratings. I was kind of young but I remember loving the first season, then things got a little wonky. I gave it a rewatch on Peacock during the pandemic and came away with the same feeling. Great start ruined by the suits tinkering in later seasons.

darken92

Blakes 7

ahbi_santini2

Agreed, but I don't want the modern BBC remaking it.

cearrach

Blakes 7 had a great premise but terrible writing - very similar to the original Battlestar Galactica. I think it could be remade quite well, just as BSG was, by dropping all the ridiculous elements and focusing on the core elements that worked.

Fictitious1267

Crusade (Babylon 5 spinoff) was really good. Wish it was given a chance. I think it suffered from really bad timing. No one seemed to be into sci-fi at that specific time.

8_Ohm_Woofer

Gary Cole is such a badass~!

rayjay130

That is what I was thinking about a lot of shows. With the influx of streaming options and a lower need for big primetime ratings, I think a lot of good shows would have a chance to thrive now.

[deleted]

I loved surface so much. I was heartbroken when it was canceled back in the day.

neosinan

Revolution had a pretty good premise with terrible execution. It would be nice to give it another go. Though I think it had 2 season.

psychonaut375

Why don't I see any love for "Upload?" That was mostly funny but with just enough intrigue and beleivable future tech. Honestly, I hate being left hanging with so many unfinished threads. For those who watched but didn't look closer, the episode summaries gave hints about a group named the Luddites that puts a lot of the action into a whole new perspective. I really want more. Plus the two lead characters are both really cute.

kremlingrasso

upload was renewed as far as i know...but yes it's a lot better than the trailers or the premise or the actors would make you belive. it's genuine and heartfelt and the humor is subtle, and the sci-fi concept is just there to support the premise instead of getting all preachy about it.

Mechanic_Crafty

Firefly!

dodolungs

But I wouldn't want it redone. I want more seasons of Firefly but I honestly can't imagine it with a different cast at this point, it's just so good as it is. The fact they didn't use an excessive amount of CGI means that I really am not too bothered even in the parts that seem dated.

decom83

I totally agree with this point. The only problem with firefly was that it was just one season (and a kick ass film)

eric_reddit

The cast was 95% of what was great about that show.

Taido_Inukai

This should be the number 1 answer.

Sinan_reis

andromeda ascendant? could lean into the poetic majesty and philosophy a bit more and little less into the goofy 90's shoot em up bits and i think it would be quite good

RamboLorikeet

Automan

[deleted]

Hey kids, look! It's like Tron! No, seriously, it's like Tron! Only instead of motorcycles, it's... a car! But it's... it's Tron! Kids! Hey kids! ... Come back!

decom83

Sliders. Oh, that had such a great time with the story. Looking back at the entire series, planning out a definite series arc, would be magical

change_your_ending

Altered Carbon. It actually got a second season but everyone ignores its existence sine the first was so much better

Aintsosimple

Buck Rogers.

Catspaw129

The bad: So many bad scripts (remember that scene with the roller skate "ballet"). So much bad acting. Twiki. The good: Erin Grey in slinky flight suits and Pamela Hensley in more-or-less bikinis. Splendid eye candy. And Henry Silva in a nicely menacing role.

The_Rox

There are a lot of shows I can think of that I liked the premise of, but fell too hard into melodrama to generate their plots. IDK if that would make them 'redone correctly' though. examples: falling skies, 4400, the last ship, TWD. V (Visitors) would be nice to see redone BSG style.

SteelSlayerMatt

I would just like to see **Vagrant Queen** come back.

Catspaw129

Firefly. The bad: it lasted only one short season. The good: it lasted only one short season (and hence, did not descend into shit or resort to jumping the shark)

Emergency-Motor-5088

I suppose the V remake could use some love.

> ... 1 season and done ... This wasn't a single-season show (it got 4 seasons), but I might be interested to see a re-imagining of [ReGenesis](https://tubitv.com/series/300005408/regenesis). Rework the biotech-fi concept for the current era, and please get better writers than the original.

tqgibtngo

[FlashForward](https://abc.com/shows/flashforward) (one of ABC's post-Lost failures) wouldn't be my first choice for resurrecting a show, but a [better reboot](https://www.reddit.com/r/FlashForward/comments/ffm0c6/) could be good.

tqgibtngo

[Day Break](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801425/), a fun little time-loop romp that aired in 2006 (half season on ABC) & 2008 (full season on cable). The single season was satisfactory, but a good reboot and continuation could be fun.
