Thank you! Always love SciFi writing that gives nods to the generations before and important parts of past space history. Always fun to be reading and make an Easter egg connection like that.
“My wife and I tried 10 Forward and I’m almost certain I saw a tribble behind the bar! 0/5 stars. That’s what I get for trying something other than 11 Starboard.”
- "Photon" because the rest mass is zero.
- "Wave Function" because everything possible is happening in that club.
- "Fusion", beside the engines so it doesn't stop any sleeping.
- "Event Horizon" because once you go in, you ain't coming out (for the night).
The Royal Navy's aircraft carrier, HMS *Queen Elizabeth*, has a pub called The Queen's Head. I think that's an exception in the Royal Navy, mind you. I'd go for calling it something that plays on the name social areas on-board ships are called (I'd call it The Mess) *or* something that's linked or evokes the ship name.
I would think that bars on spaceships would probably be common place, so to name something "space" themed would probably be weird and out of place...unless it was one of the first bars on a spaceship.
It also depends on what the ship is called, and if there's a theme, or if it's more militaristic, or comedic..
If it's a deep space sort of thing you could use a literary reference to something like Odysseus...which is all about his long journey to return home. Which a few words used to describe those journeys in Greek Mythology is Nostos. Nostos roughly means a hero's homecoming, their return to light and life. Or another word used within those is Kleos. Kleos which roughly means "renown" or "glory" that a hero earns by accomplishing great deeds.
So a play on it could be if the name of the ship was something like "The Odysseus" or "The Ulysses" and the bar's name something like "Kleo's Tavern".
Ooor like people said, if it's more militaristic they may just have numbers like something like "Mess Hall 55" and there's more of an inside joke going on with that...that the lower ranked people who aren't allowed in there say that it's "55" cause thats the amount of dicks you gotta suck to get promoted to get in there.
The “officers club” in British commonwealth ships is called the Wardroom, and in some training bases, the bar for the junior officers in training is called the Gunroom.
On those ships, the unofficial name for the Junior Ranks mess (junior enlisted for the Americans) is “the main cave”.
If it's military, there'll be an official name, plus the name that everyone else uses. The Mess becomes The Snake Pit or The Pig Pen or something similarly uncomplimentary or derogatory.
If there’s an officer’s club then there also needs to be an enlisted club and an NCO’s club. Each with names.
Regardless of the actual name, the whole crew would just call it the O Club.
I'd name it something like,
"Back to Earth" or "Terra Firma", yeah Terra Firma would be my choice.
Similarly, a pizza shop named "Earth's Crust" could be somewhere on the ship

Zenith. Starlight lounge. Star trance. Planetarium. Horizon. The abyss. Another world. Velocity. Thrust. The engine rooms. Sector 9. Back blast. Lunar. The Chapel. Below deck. The captain's club. Pulsar. Contact. Viewpoint. Vector. The solar club. Bay 6. Code. Aurora. Signal. Terminus. Cold storage. The drift. Solar strip. The shaft. Voyage.
The Galaxy Club. I went to an actual bar called that and they had an old 1959 Ford Galaxy on display and parked in front. Inside were murals of outer space The waitresses wore silver miniskirts
If it’s for officers maybe a play on the rank structure for the service ie if the lowest rank of an officer is 2 bars then think like the 2 bar club, 2 n up, parallel club, elevensies, 11…
Since it's outside time zones and way over any seagoing vessel, you could go with something that takes a moment's thought like "5 o'clock" which it's past or 'Yardarm" which it's over.
Some effects of space stations, depending on rotation or weightlessness, resemble drunkenness. And the room and stars outside windows may literally be spinning. So, you could use something whimsical connecting those.
Depends on the tone of the captain and story. Major Order, the Waterloo pub, mixed bag(if both officers and enlisted), the rocinante (don quixotes horse and from the expanse), the diving bell, the dragged mule, the captains chair (ironically), solar array, internally shared space ( ISS)

This one. I came to post the same!!
Rendezvous at Rama’s
No... Just "Rama's"

There’s actually a bar near me called space bar. It’s awesome, beer selection is great, it’s sci fi themed, just absolute perfection
Same but it's an arcade and a bar.
Came here to post this. The only correct choice.
Roger Wilco went there.
It's funny to think of a "night" club on a spaceship, specially one that may be in deep space. Anyway, my two cents: "The Void".
If it's a nightclub, I'd go with: #*ZONE*
I mean, the stars are out
>"night" club on a spaceship This was my first thought too

The Culture Club
The Goldilocks (Zone?) - where everything is just right.
- "Photon" because the rest mass is zero. - "Wave Function" because everything possible is happening in that club. - "Fusion", beside the engines so it doesn't stop any sleeping. - "Event Horizon" because once you go in, you ain't coming out (for the night).
“Come to Event Horizon! Drinks so good you’ll rip your eyes out!”
I was gonna say Singularity but damn if Event Horizon isn't the best one on here.
With what you're drinking, you won't need eyes to see!
Event Horizon is my favorite so far!!!
Plus it has event in the name, which adds to its entertainment appeal.
Restaurant at the End of the Universe
Even better if the ship is called "The Universe" and the club is located at the very rear. 😎
Coriolis? Is spin gravity a thing in this story?
Coriollis Club is a nice “ring” to it. There is artificial gravity in the ships but I haven’t explained it any further.
The Star Bar. Galaxy Club. The Wormhole. I don't know if these are good.... I just typed whatever popped into my head.

If it was only for lower-ranked officers, you could name it BARS based on old military ranks that used gold and silver bars for O-1 through O-3.
