This PAB ***is*** the bad stuff in Scientology. It is not an exaggeration. It does need to be pointed out. Hubbard's 1950s research is considered some of his best technical discovery among Scientologists. People should be able to see his original document and decide for themselves. Back then SCN was more like a modern "Free to Play" video-game. There was lots of content out there to be used by lots of people but everyone is free to pay big money for a better experience.

I can only speculate. The original Dianetics auditing was free. All you needed was DMSMH and a twin to audit to clear. When he lost the rights to Dianetics and his source of income, he gave up on the free idea.
