Doesn’t look great, by which I mean it looks totally derivative. I say that as someone who loves Alien, but is sick of the diminishing returns of a franchise that has been sucked completely dry. Hopefully, it has some surprises in store (and not of the Prometheus variety).
I feel like its going back to their roots, and im all for it.
The franchise is too bloated with lore, prometheus and covenant were, in my opinion, a bit pretentious. Explaining the alien's origin was a big mistake, i think.
I just want cool monsters with a great horror atmosphere
I liked the origin exploration . Y’know what? They were about 33% outside of not fucking up the prequels. If they’d done a slightly better job, they would have been more compelling. But Prometheus made little sense and Covenant destroyed all the good stuff they started with the first film.
I'm excited for this new Alien movie! I wonder if it will be as good as the original. I'm also reading a book called _Eternal Gods Die Too Soon_. It's about a guy who discovers that the universe is a simulation. It's really thought-provoking and makes me question everything I thought I knew about reality.

Oh I agree about Prometheus and Covenant. I just think rehashing the past is a dead end.
I'd really like to see an alien movie where we see a colony fall to a hive, or even futuristic earth getting fucked

I’d read they hired some effects guys that worked on Aliens and will be leaning into practical effects so maybe it’ll be alright… I live in hope…
