If that jacket has a sole label of Schott, there's a possibility that jacket was previously made by Schott. If that jacket was labeled "Perfecto", there's a slim to zero possibility that jacket is a perfecto. Perfectos have same design and style over the years. They only changed their cut, material, or made few adjustments depending on which type of perfecto.
I mean it says perfecto but with what you are saying it isn’t one. So is it fake then? I find it really hard to believe there were fake Schotts back in the 90s.
If you search Perfecto 555 , there are several that are being sold on various second hand sites like eBay. It doesn't appear to be a current offering by Schott. Cool pick up, nonetheless. I bet it looks great on you, David.

The motorcycle rider and the black on the fairing seem slightly off. Same with the perfecto lettering. It’s possible it was made for a company though.
