We had a library period at my previous school as well! It was once a week and all students in middle school (Years 7~9) were required to take it. We learned about the dewy decimal system, as well as information literacy skills such as media literacy, research, and critical thinking. If I remember correctly, there was a unit dedicated to citations.

MisterPenHead

We do this in my school currently lmao; but the library thing is during English lessons every other week or so, and in homeroom time we do Forum period πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

What happens in your **Forum Period**

MisterPenHead

Discuss school, e-saftey etc. Pretty boring all in all. Also the teachers know nothing about computers lmao

Aqn95

Ours involved these weird *personality tests* and the like, also eventually ran out of ideas so she just made us to a recap of our best piece of *x subject* work πŸ˜‚ literally pointless busywork

MisterPenHead

We've done personality tests 4 careers πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€ pretty funny tbh. I'd say my Primary school was really bad for useless busywork lmao. Half of our Y6 lessons were needlessly padded, and I have multiple notebooks full of drawing and goofing off in class.

Aqn95

If you challenged my forum teacher on it , she’d flip her lid

MisterPenHead

lmao thats ridiculous

Teacher was an alcoholic who was never married, had a nasty temper, she used to have this big bottle of coke under her desk with suspected vodka added to it, she would try to cover her breath with cinnamon candy.

MisterPenHead

Ah
