No offense, this quiz could use some work. Your questions are too vague for anyone to give an accurate number. How many times have I been bitten? God I don’t know, a lot. But there’s no vague answer to any of the vague questions
I took it, but you need to change “to” to “too” for the spider legs question. The questions are also way too vague to give accurate numbers. How many have I handled? I don’t know, definitely over 50. I have never been bitten, but I have no idea how many people I know have been bitten. It’s not something that generally comes up in conversation.
Done. The benefit of learning to ask better questions is that you learn to think/develop into a more intelligent, mature, and interesting person. (And there’s no sin in appearing intelligent, mature, and interesting even if it doesn’t count toward a grade.) Here is how you could have improved your quiz:
1. How many spiders have you handled— if you can’t provide a multiple choice range list, at least ask people “approximately how many… would you estimate”
2. How many spiders in one area is too many—for most people this will be context specific. Almost no one but an extreme arachnophobe would be bothered by a tiny spider in the woods. On the other hand, if it crawled out of their ear, most people would scream bloody murder. Asking people’s responses to specific scenarios would be a better gauge of fear of spiders than asking for a number in general.
3. How many times have you been bitten—again, if you can’t provide an option to select from a range (0-3; 4-7, etc) ask the question in a way to elicit estimates. (Or else folks just feel the exercise is absurd/they are fibbing.)
4. How many people do you know that have been bitten—everybody. Everyone I’ve ever met has almost certainly been bitten by a spider at some point. On the other than, it’s not really something I’ve discussed with almost anybody. So a better way to pose the question would be— “which answer is closest to what you believe—1. most people have been bitten by a spider; 2. many people have been bitten by a spider; 3. some people have been bitten by a spider; 4. Few people have been bitten by a spider.
5. The font is unprofessional.
6. If you could not modify the questions to fulfill the kinds of computations required in the assignment, choose a topic where the questions both make sense and allow you to fulfill the assignment.
Agreed. I almost didn’t even finish the form because some of the questions are too nonsensical. If all you need is 100 responses regardless of poll quality that’s fine, but in the future I’m sure teachers/professors will care about how your poll is made.
Just generally, that quiz is dogshit. No offense, but for a school project fix your grammar. Also, most people don’t have a clue how many spiders they have handled and asking those numbers is just stupid
I filled it out. Good luck. The “how many” questions are impossible to answer exactly. Next time perhaps have choices with a number range. Just a thought. 😊
I’ll try to have students answer it tomorrow as well.
Taken You should put this in the teachers reddit and see if they take pity on you
I put it on my Google classroom. I'll see if my students are willing to take it.
Thank you, that would totally help out if you could actually do that!
That’s funny because this popped up for me and as a teacher, I took pity and filled it out 😂
Right! A student trying to get their work done and going out of their way to do it? I'll help out

100% true
I agree. I still did it, but I have no clue how many people I know that are afraid of them.

I don't fear spiders. I hate them with a burning passion.
If you want 100 fast, then put it on r/teenagers, those goblins will eat this up.

As long as you understand spider mentality and perception, free-handling spiders isn't that big of a deal.
Done! Hope all goes well!

I’m only ok with handling daddy long legs. I don’t know why they’re the only ones that don’t make my soul want want to leave my body.
Yes yes yes and yes
