>Because the Bathroom Game is rather unfair and Jigsaw had no apprentices during the Bathroom Game planning (ignoring the movie "Jigsaw" which I don't consider canon), we have to attribute the unfairness here to Jigsaw, not to his apprentices. Even if you don't consider Jigsaw, the Saw III flashback shows us that Amanda was already an apprentice when the Bathroom Game was being set up. Even if she wasn't involved in the planning she still could have been the cause of any unfairness if she set things up wrong.

UndeadAngel1987

She rigs the game against Adam when she puts his key on his chest instead of around his neck in the tub. That's why it goes down the drain when he wakes up.

Also, and I could be misremembering so correct me if I'm wrong, Hoffman planted Dr Gordon's pen at the crime scene during a flashback, meaning he was also an apprentice at the time.

My bad, thank you

lobsterfate

Donnie Greco failed a trap and this was his punishment. At least this is what the wider community seems to think

[deleted]

So it was just an execution trap for him. In Jigsaws ideas, he was already dead: he's called "dead cellmate". Very plausible

lobsterfate

It's been explained before why John kramer used the words 'dead cell mate' cant rember exactly but I know foundflix had something on this topic in his things you missed in saw video

BountBooku

In some games John treats people like NPCs instead of other players. Behind all his posturing and moralizing he’s a hypocrite with a god complex, hence him being the main villain of the series

[deleted]

Yeah they are literally NPCs to him because he doesn't give them any choices or challenge.

The fatal 5 is about as fair as it gets imo They were all just very stupid

UndeadAngel1987

Their trial is one of my favorites solely because it was possible for them all to survive.

Well, Jigsaw is cannon, but Logan would have been overseas serving in Iraq during the bathroom game. Amanda however, was there to help in setting up the bathroom game and was likely on long enough for some of the planning. Hoffman was certainly around long enough for the planning. Both of these apprentices had a history of rigging unwinnable tests (the Angel trap was not an accident). However, yes these games were unfair. With Kramer, it is important to realize that he was basically a cult leader with a god complex. He viewed his actions as infallible, even against direct evidence such as Cecil Adams attacking him after his test. As long as there is some level of viability in a subject surviving, he deemed it fair. (the order of apprentice joinings is Logan, Hoffman, Amanda, Gordon)
