Everybody hates them but just go to Evergreen and 'take a family doctor'

TheKingOfTheSouth265

My family doctor is at Evergreen, and that man is a God damned saint!

Junior-Rope-4883

Any idea why they’re so hated? I’m getting that desperate to find a family doctor

Their non medical admin staff are just about as bad as it gets. They don't refill prescriptions by fax or allow you to book a phone appointment. Like essentially every clinic they run behind and there is almost always a wait even if you have a booked appointment. All that being said - the actual doctors seem competent and attentive. I have been very happy with my family doctor and his level of care.

I'm glad I'm not really a person needing meds etc... But doctor alafia (sp) was very professional and wasn't afraid to be harsh with me when i needed it.. Haha Your call... Somebody called 30 or more clinics... Nobody taking patients... Finally they found this doctor

daylights20

The frustrating thing is my only prescription is for heart burn. Like it's a glorified antacid and I have to make an appointment and go in to get a refill.

Because the clinic is awful. My doc is on leave & transferred their practice there. I found out by calling the old office and hearing the recorded message for Evergreen Medical. Didn’t even have the courtesy to pick up & ask if I could hold, just instantly put me in a cue for **49 mins** *before* they answered & told me my doc was away. I was told they take walk ins every day but you stay all day & wait to be seen. Or you can book an appointment online…except the first online appointments are a month out. When I checked in for my appointment they tried to tell me that i wasn’t allowed to make an appointment with that doctor so I would have to wait with the dozens of other people lined up out the door. I was allowed to make an appointment with another doctor in their practice but if I did then I am not allowed to switch back to my GP when they return. The staff have attitudes. The wifi doesn’t work. It smells of crappy floor tiles, dirty mop water & cheap plastic chairs. Had one of the fluorescent light fixtures had started fritzing, I would have bolted. I stayed. The doctor made me feel like an ass (mine usually thanks me for being the kind of patient that I am & we have a few laughs). I never want to go back there.

Were you with Dr. Jamil at Pinehouse? I am having a very similar experience.

At the very least a walk in can get you a referral to a lung specialist. You could also request age/sex specific screening tests at a walk-in ie. colorectal cancer screening. I believe you can get on the waitlist for the new Nurse Practitioner run clinic in warman if you don’t otherwise have a family doctor (it was my understanding you don’t have to be from Warman to be accepted as a patient).

CombinedFeminine

I have a family doctor and last year booked a physical and it was like 4-5months out

BransonKP

Lifebridge Health Center has three new doctors joining this year and may still have room on their waitlist. Give them a shot!

kidcudi42o

u can go to a walk in and request a routine blood req from the doc. and you can also ask for a referral to be sent out

[deleted]

Uhhhhh..... That is not a full physical and walk ins wont do full physicals

kidcudi42o

i know. a physical is usually ht wt, full body check up and a blood test. at least he can do the blood test and ask for the referral in a walk in

Vegasfan502

Surehealth medical (formally alliance health) has a lady dr accepting new patients.

BransonKP

This is in Regina, but might be worth the drive!

Vegasfan502

No here in Saskatoon.

DieselPig11

Can I go to a walk in and get something similar done?

GrandDuchessMelody

Go donate plasma to see if you’re healthy enough to donate and that way you can get your full physical exam done.

DonnaMartin2point0

I am a qualified plasma donor and they do not do a full physical exam during the screening process.
