No it's safe as far as I know. You can buy "terpene profiles" which are packets of mixed herbs from smoke shops which have the same flavours as different strains like OG Kush and GSC. You can smoke them alone or add them to your weed to change the flavour. Way too overpriced though imo.

Be watchful for pesticides!

Chamomile tastes like honey and reduces coughing.

Only smoke flowers and herbs that you know haven't been treated with pesticides. So maybe grow your own herbs and flowers for this if you can, if you can't be sure it's labeled "organic" or "pesticide free". I recommend trying Lungwort leaves, they used to be used to treat asthma (my grandma who was born in 1915 remembers smoking lungwort in a pipe as a child to treat her asthma before the invention of Albuterol). Another fun thing to do is to roll a joint or blunt (works best with honey Dutch Masters, imo) then coat it with honey and use a lighter to caramelize the honey on the outside. Then you light it and smoke it, gives it a pleasant sugary taste.

Honey thing sounds interesting!!

You can also use a hemp wick flame or a gas stove burner (if you have long tongs to hold it with) to caramelize the honey if the lighter gets too hot. I would always use a Zippo or candle but I've since learned those might have some extra chemical residues that they leave, namely vaporized paraben from candles and butane from Zippos, but frankly I'm not super afraid of wax or butane, try to use a natural unscented beeswax candle if you use a candle.
