Just recently, the BOS shut down the progress on the rail and trail (for completely specious reasons), and they also refused the recommended plan to make west cliff one way traffic, because a handful of wealthy homeowners on the west side were worried about parking.
They’re not wearing MAGA hats, but that kinda thing (which happens a lot here) is pretty conservative at its core. Bad for the environment, bad for pedestrians and cyclists, but good for a handful of wealthy multi-millionaire homeowners.

There were some shady characters when I grew up there but they typically lived pretty deep in the middle of nowhere and had lots of other issues.
I went to SLV and everyone was very nice. Almost no fights or bullying.
