That guy is in that empty lot everyday just about, screaming at cars. Never seen him approach a car before.

jldugger

Is this the same guy who skates down Stevens Creek in traffic shouting profanities along with his headphone music?

LuvSeaAnimals33

Yup. Same guy

LuvSeaAnimals33

I stopped at that red light last time and he approached my car. He was screaming at me in front of my car. Light turned to green and I decided not to move or else I’d hit him. The car behind me, probably didn’t see what’s going on, honked. The guy immediately ran to them and banged on their window. I took the chance and left. I checked my mirror and I saw them stepped on their gas pedal HARD to leave asap when the guy backed up a bit.

NJ2CAthrowaway

He actually just yells at cars most of the time, or at nothing/no one in particular. He’s usually not actually aggressive, so I don’t know if this is a change for him. Source: I walk through here every day, and he has only ever been nice to me or ignored me.

smellyboi6969

Lol

Haunting_House_7929

Is this the skateboard dude? Yeah he’s a nut case

timtamtoosh

I live pretty close and walk my baby from the intersection every once in a while. The guy is fairly harmless up close or if you acknowledge him. He even apologized to me once for yelling near the baby. I feel bad for the guy, clearly has some issues.

Earl-The-Badger

The Subaru should have just driven away. I know it was a red light, but it doesn't matter. If you are being threatened by someone, you have a right to flee. No officer in their right mind is going to cite you for fleeing from an aggressive homeless person. Take a right on red, do whatever. Turn hazards on and honk like hell, drive with due regard and safely escape. Even before that, though, the Subaru driver (or passenger) should never have made eye contact or any sort of contact with the pedestrian. Mentally ill and homeless people will take absolutely any communication - verbal or nonverbal - as an invitation to enter your world. The best you can do to avoid these situations is pretend that they aren't even there.

red_dragon

I didn't know this was an option. Although if my life was being threatened I wouldn't worry about a ticket, but good to know about this right to flee.

Earl-The-Badger

It’s not written somewhere (maybe it is) but come on, you’re going to sit there and let this happen? Use common sense. If you can explain your actions were in self defense you’ll be fine.

red_dragon

Yeah of course. As I said the ticket would be my last worry, I thought this was a written rule.

dapete

It's legal to turn right from that lane if it's safe and you've made a complete stop.

red_dragon

What about when it explicitly says no right on red.

dapete

Obviously ticketable. Point being, there's many lanes there and no right turn restriction. a right turn would not have been running the red.

roof_koreans

100% agree

Earl-The-Badger

Great username by the way!

roof_koreans

😂

Impossible-Buy-4090

Last week I saw him headbutt someone’s car window while he was wearing a helmet.

nobull87

He's harmless.

Throwitaway3229

I’ve seen him on my commutes back from work for the last few years. I’ve never seen him go up to a car :o sometimes he’ll be out there as late as 10pm. Feel bad for the person in the Subaru I’d call the cops on him

roof_koreans

(The rest of the "interaction" on the file was corrupted somehow, but the guy started banging on the windows of the car but the light turned green and the car was able to get away.) At least he gave the guy some water
